Jet’s Mark Scheifele father, Brad, passed away overnight. Scheifele wasn’t at morning skate, but is expected to plaY in Game 6 tonight in Dallas.
As if we needed another reason to root against Dallas
Hellybuyck getting ridiculously lucky in the first 10 minutes
It always amazes me (even at Wild or Gophers) when fans start raising their hands and wanting a phantom call. Sometimes they are crying for a call and in reality, it should be called on their team. Dallas fans are bad, though Vegas fans are hands down the worst.
Keep your stick on the ice...
How do you get hit in the head with the puck sitting on the glass? It looked that dude was even looking in the direction the puck came from.
Of course Scheifele scores the first goal cause we live in a simulation

Reminds me of this classic…

That save by Ott just now was insane!
Do these teams know there is a finite amount of stimulants to just keep UP with the pacing of this game????
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
Benn blatantly tripped with no call which would tell you these refs aren’t calling anything unless they don’t like Benn which is super possible
The fact that Steel and Granlund are rockstars for a Cup favorite is blowing my mind
Benn blatantly tripped with no call which would tell you these refs aren’t calling anything unless they don’t like Benn which is super possible
Should have been penalty shot, playoff rules or not.

The intermission interview is that the flight from Dallas to Winnipeg is long…?…is it even?

I would argue that it wasn’t a clean breakaway because the other d man was in position but def debatable

Fair. And quick OT.

Kind of fitting Harley scores GWG !
Hellebuyuk got lucky most of the game but no way he could see that one
The problem was the clean centering psss, it was a bang bang play, Helly wasn’t saving it unless it hit him.Hellebuyuk got lucky most of the game but no way he could see that one
Was that Samberg screening him? Block it or get the hell out of the way! Looked like he couldn’t make up his mind on which to do.

Ottinger was lucky as well. The tic-tac-toe save, was of a back shot, than a great save.

Hard no on a penalty shot. Though I wonder how often would a goalie have the penalty shot called than a 2 minute power play.

Pretty cool watching Hockey Tonight (or whatever) and seeing a 2-minute segment on how much Toronto will miss Knies if he doesn't play.
If I were a Gopher opponent goalie, take penalty shot

what happened to Knies? I saw a video of him on the bench but not able to play
Aloha!
Last I checked you’re probably not going to score if you don’t take any shots on goal…
I didn't t recall a playoffs where I've seen this many backup officials get used... Wow.
Referee Chris Rooney just gets smoked in the face (eye area under the visor) by a stick. Blood everywhere. Looked awful. Seriously hope he is okay.

I hope his eye is okay. That looked messy.
TOR digging themselves into a very deep hole. :/
Toronto: The only place where the Leaves fall in the Spring.
How do you not challenge that for offside?
Wasn't really that close to being offsideHow do you not challenge that for offside?

My dad had a similar thing happen to him when I was eight or nine years old. Huge zipper the length of his left eyebrow, 36 stitches. Hopefully that’s all that happened and his eye itself is fine.
Apparently if you don’t have the puck you can still go touch up after it entered the zone? Learn something new every day.

Prior to last night, you were looking at 65% of a Canadian team of winning the Cup. If tonight’s score holds up, you’re looking at a 30%.

It’s one of those plays/rules you see it and say, wait, then you realize it’s a good call.

Leafs leafing. Le sigh.
I have a feeling there may be more Leafs jerseys thrown on the ice if this continues.
I was recently informed by a GPLer that I'm related to Airey

Correct. Provided another player on your team hasn’t touched it yet, I believe.
Can't imagine the reaction on Leafs Puck Live right now by a member named Sundin13.

There would be no such thing as delayed or touch up offside if the puck had to leave the zone for it to happen. That play was no different than dumping the puck into the zone and then waiting for your teammates to clear the zone before entering the zone and playing the puckApparently if you don’t have the puck you can still go touch up after it entered the zone? Did a Leafs jersey get tossed on the ice? I had to go outside after the review on the potential fourth goal for Florida to call my kids inside. And missed about 2 minutes of play. Though I remember a Gophers jersey being tossed on the ice the final year of the WCHA Final 5, when the Gophers gave up a lead to UND.

I had to go back and watch. You’re right, it went across the line and was not touched by 3 until the other guy got back across.

Not this game, but 2 were tossed on the ice during game 5
