NIL, Transfer Portal, opt-outs….I still watch college sports but the lines are blurred. It's commonplace now for an announcer to refer to a player as "...a transfer from..."
It seems recruiting hardly matters much anymore. If you get a couple nice players and the team falters, they bolt. If your team sucks, you go trolling the portal to cover your recruiting mistakes. Hockey teams like MI State have several players from various schools who have put them over the top. This is just the beginning.
