The Wild have 12 SOG half-way through the game.  Good thing the plan was to play more defensively.

Heck of a time to regress to the undisciplined play we saw under Dean.

All of the structure disappears when Fleury is in the net. Might be just what they need

It took Vegas 13 minutes and 45 seconds to get their first shot on goal in the third period.

As far as I’m concerned all Nyquist has done for us since acquiring him is mess that up.

Nyquist is terrible, he has been a complete liability out there and then he goes offsides for no reason. Another Guerin gem, I’m sure he earned 4 years at 6 mill with a no trade clause.

It happens to everyone, the real question is why is Nyquist on the ice with a minute to go in tie game?

If he would have been on side would Vegas or the refs have next checked every stick on the Wild bench including the extra sticks to find one that is illegal and disallow the goal?

3rd straight playoff the Wild have had a 2-1 lead and watched it turn in to a 2-3, facing elimination. We’ll see if it’s 3 straight bounces 2-4.

A few good players on this team and the rest are a bunch of sleds.

What a pathetic display of D zone coverage.

Good thing Merrill played, his guy in front of the net on the OT winner.

I think that was technically Bogosian’s guy, but Merrill didn’t realize Howden got away from him in time.

I wondered why everyone was in such a hurry to get off the ice, wasn’t there something that could get challenged against Vegas? What a bunch of crap, god I hate that organization down there.

Yeah, that was a coverage breakdown not all on Merrill.

Any way you cut it, this Vegas team is so unbelievably lucky. This game should never have gotten to OT.

I still think the refs stole game 4 and now a mite-level offsides...more Minnesota suffering....

That LOSS was the definition of what’s wrong with this team! Snatching defeat from the Jaws of Victory, no excuse on that particular play to be off-side. So sick & tired of this incompetence in big spots!

If you watch the replay too Merrill is probably 8 feet out of position on the OT goal. What was he even doing. It’s defense 101 you cover the front of the net when the other D is behind the net.

I thought Carter mentioned he followed his guy up high and nobody slipped down in his spot. Seems plausible.

Merrill has probably the 3rd worst play on the goal. He's fine following  Kolesar from behind the net , but there's no reason for him to skate to the top of the circle when the puck never gets higher than the hashmarks. Bogosian actually makes a good read and is in perfect position to break up the cycle. He just flat out misses the puck. Rossi is in decent position, but all he does is watch Pearson make the pass to Howden.

Yeah, the offsides play was very close, but it’s the lack of focus to fundamentals in key situations that’s maddening, these guys are the best players in the world, not some PeeWee age team…Nyquist drags his foot a bit and Wild lead 3-2 with 1:15 to go in 3rd, that’s so frustrating…

It’s in context…with what’s been happening with MN Pro men’s sports teams since 1991 (34 straight fricken years) 🤬

I went to bed after the first hoping the Wild could push it to a game 7, I didn't have much hope after 1 period so waking up to a OT loss better (??) than I expected.  Can an OT loss be better?  Probably not.   Anyway, just saw the overturned goal replay and yikes!  I remember a mom of a mite I coached threatening (as a joke) to put blue tape on her kid's skate toes to remind him of the rule.  This was almost mite level bad.

All my homies hate Gus Nyquist.

My hope is with the added cap space the Wild pick up this year, we won't see Nyquist in next year's playoff.  The Wild actually played much better this year, when healthy, than I expected given the reduced cap.  I've been looking forward to this off season for several years.  Can wait to see what BG does with the money.

Hopefully he doesn't spend it resigning mediocre players.

he already spent most of it re-signing mediocre players. They will have room for 1 big name player, unless he gets rid of some of the dead weight this summer.

Will he be able to sign Kaprisov to the large contract Leipold promised AND bring in another big name player or one or the other?

On the replay it looks like the puck is on its' edge when crossing the blue line. This might have impacted how quickly it crossed the blue line and helped cause the off sides. Obviously, Nyquist is trying to time it and keep his speed.

Oh well, at least it was a hockey play.

Captain Foligno took a stupid penalty away from the puck seconds after the team just killed one off. That took another 2 minutes away from the offense and could have changed the game.

I was really hoping Nyquist would’ve scored the OT goal last night.

Keep your stick on the ice...
