Rossi and Gaudreau lines are both getting killed4th line barely holding on at times.
Absolutely hammered in the second but get out 1-1. Get through the first 8 min of the 3rd even here
Great we’re at that part of the game where we stand around and watch them skate in circles.
Really dislike the buium bogo combo, especially if you let them on the ice with the 4th line
Ek blatant trip not called
This team is begging to lose
Pretty frustrating because Theodore is still out there trying to hand it to us.
Ok hopefully the PP buries one.
[Edit] More like a power outage.

Buium is just not hard on pucks. It's a lot to ask of a 19-year-old kid. I get that the Wild want some offensive punch on the power play, but Vegas doesn't need to take penalties and Buium has been forced to defend on a lot of his shifts.
If they can get out of Vegas with a win, we might see more Merrill.
Riding the Gus Bus now

id rather see buium with Middleton. Similar to how they brought faber in. Bogo is a bottom pair d man and it puts a lot more pressure on zeev to be sound defensively when his partner is already suspect
So the linesman also don’t like Hartman now?
After the bad start, I thought they were better in the third than the second. Power play’s only success was killing two minutes, though. Theodore being comically bad and Gus being better tonight might have been the difference.
Playing late at night works well for the Wild as they put the Knights to bed via a score of 5-2.
The Wild are now 21-7-1 in games that both Kaprizov and Ek played in.
Also 30-0-0 in games they lead through two periods. 😳
Checked the score a couple times during sleep attempt but refused to watch fearing everything would go to shit. 😂
@karlsson Boldy & Kaprisov & Foligno & Hartman & Gus were the difference 😁 And Hill wasn’t as sharp.

Agree with your first part, that he should not be on a 3rd pairing with a gritty defenseman and playing 4th line minutes.
On the second part, Buium is the one making it hard on Bogo. Putting a 19 year old, well outside of his skillset, in playoff hockey is creating a liability for what the 3rd D pairing is suppose to be all about.
@j22 Gaudreau was brutal on faceoffs, 3/8. Further handcuffing the line he plays on.

oh I agree, just meaning with someone like Faber or Brodin, for example, they have the capacity to cover for Zeev where Bogo does not. Bogo just doesn’t have the capacity to make up for Zeevs mistakes which is the coaches putting them both in a bad spot with the pairing
Freddy is woefully overmatched playing 2nd line minutes. Rossi is clearly in Hynes dog house. but putting him with sleds Trennin & Brazeau is not the answer. Hartman elevation to 3rd line was earned, he’s a much grittier player than Freddy & just as skilled.@j22 Gaudreau was brutal on faceoffs, 3/8. Further handcuffing the line he plays on.

Okay, but if you put Zeev with Brodin (or Faber) you either are now committing to playing your best defensive D man a lot less minutes or you are putting a 19 yr old rookie out for a lot more minutes (and limiting one of the other top 4 guys more). I don't know that either of these options are better than limiting his minutes by keeping him with Bogo. And I still think I would rather see him than Merrill (as the other option). This experience should pay off in future years and he clearly seemed to have gained confidence from the first to second game.

agreed and id absolutely not play him with faber or brodin, just using as an example. I do like him with Merrill better. Right now he and Bogo border on unplayable especially with the 4th line
Buium's problem is that the coaches are still sheltering Spurgeon. Can't hide 2 defense pairs from the other team. Bogosian seems like he should be a good option for Buium to break in with, but he isn't playing like it. He's running around quite a bit. Might just be trying to do too much?
Tough for a puck moving offensive defenseman to show much when you won't let him play with your good offensive players. Buium was on the ice with Kaprizov for a total of 39 seconds last night. Spurgeon had 10:22.
The TOI for the two teams is quite telling.
Vegas
D: Most TOI - 23:25, Least TOI - 16:26
F: Most TOI - 17:17, Least TOI - 11:28
MN
D: Most - 26:21, Least - 12:12
F: Most - 20:49, Least 9:27
It's also interesting that the MN dominated the faceoffs in game 1 and lost; got dominated in game 2 and hung on to win.
As for Buium (and I admit I'm a fanboy) it's hard to judge someone 25 minutes into their NHL career. Especially playing their first games in the playoffs against an incredibly good team. Talk about baptism by fire. I really hope they stick with him. Every minute he plays is another bit of experience that will help down the road.
