Zeev won't play tonight against Anaheim

I’ll watch tonight but I was excited to see his debut and thought it would spark the fan base and get that excitement rolling into the playoffs. Now it’s just meh, ok wild game, I guess see what happens.

Not impressive so far tonight vs a Ducks team that has absolutely NOTHING to play for (as a team). You fly close enough to the ☀️ bad things can happen. In a similar situation Blues are up on Utah 4-1. lol

Eh, they’ve hit four posts (at least) and Anaheim’s goal was a fluky one.

That was some grade F defending from Middleton and Merrill there. Woof.

Sure glad they have Merrill is the lineup instead of Buium.

So glad Ek and Kaprisov are back. They’re helping immensely. One good comeback game.

Sitting back when you’re losing with less than five minutes left is certainly an interesting strategy.

Worse than sitting on a two goal lead?

I'm glad. Ek scores with 22 seconds left in regulation to send the Wild to the playoffs.

With a playoff spot clinched Fleury gets to play the overtime.

Fleury adds to his NHL leading overtime wins total. Boldy with the game winner.

The Wild end the regular season winning 4 of their last 5 games and finish with 97 points in a season they had many long term key injuries. Definitely could have been a 105 point season if they would have had normal injury luck.

37 year old Mats Zuccarello scored the overtime game winner at Vancouver on Saturday and tonight assisted on both goals in regulation to assure the Wild would make the playoffs.

He still has enough left in the tank to come up huge when it's needed the most. 😉

What a sweet seem pass by Zucc between two Duck defenders to get it to Boldy who found Ek on the door step.

TIC TAC TOE!!!

It will be interesting to see what kind of playoff coach Hynes is. Evason and Beadreau were both comically bad. Yeo was actually decent, he just never had the players to do much.

I also wonder how many guys will be playing for their jobs, and what that is going to look like?

@slap-shot Well timed memory pop!  👍  Minnesota has now made the playoffs 11 times in 13 years — most of any Western Conference team. lol

Ah, Kyle Brodziak. You’d think he was a former Gopher with how useless he was on a breakaway. Everyone knew he was passing there and Nino buried it anyway.

I was so bummed we didn't get to see Buium last night.  I completely understand the logic but this kid is going to be something special.  I'd skate 11 forwards and 7 D just to get him in and see what he can do.  As someone said earlier, he is our best option on the PP.  Kid is talented and smart and will figure it out quickly.

I own zero jerseys of any kind but am excited enough about this kid I'm tempted to get a #8 retro right now.

I truly think he's going to be nearly as impactful next year as Hutson has been for Montreal.  Given the other talent he won't put on that many points but he will make a difference.  I feel he is a more complete player as well.  Time will tell and feel free to call me out when I'm wrong.

As for the playoffs...yikes.  Don't have much hope but I'll be watching to see if they can pull off the miracle.  Can't even imagine the money line on that first round series.

I don’t think you’re out of line regarding the optimism toward Zeev! Time will tell, but I fully expect to see him paired with Faber in 25-26.

Rumor has it that  game 1 will be an afternoon game on Sunday. After that, be prepared for being the 2nd game of the doubleheaders.

It’s more about them not playing well enough to keep me excited while I’m all in. It’s after I’m asleep all the good shit happens, that’s why I’m probably better off for the teams sake to stay away.😁

What makes hockey better than the other 3 major sports. There’s been no ‘dog & pony shows’ (just for @cowgirl) for Fluery. Most end of games, it’s been opposing team captain lead to line up and shake a future HOF’er. Not front office staffs trying to out due each other with some kind of ‘pomp & circumstance’ show.
Can you imagine the LeBron James show. His big ego had had how weeks of sunrise to sunset coverage when he left Cleveland to Miami.

Keep your stick on the ice...

The (since 1993) Stanley Cup drought for 7 🇨🇦 teams (22%) of the NHL is very MN Pro Sports like! 🤣

Listening to KFAN sounds like Russo just tweeted the lines at practice today & Buium is paired with Begosian on 3rd pair with Merrill & Chisholm on the 4th pair (as the 2 healthy scratches)

Sunday game is 9pm central.  Can’t be an afternoon game?

Followed by a weekday 10 pm central game.

Even the weekday home game is 9 pm.

Then they question why nobody watches the NHL.  What parent can allow their kids to watch these games?

Thankfully the Wild aren’t competitive so I won’t lose sleep.

Sadly but the time they switch over it will be closer to 9CT than 8.

I'll be doing the record and get up early to watch before work arrangement.

Wild made the playoffs. The NHL doesn’t give a crap what fans who live in the Central time zone think about the start times, they’ll always cater to the East & West coast teams fan bases. It is what it is…

Guerin is just never going to figure it out.

Well, hopefully Guerin is now starting to figure it out!

From Michael Russo article today in Tho Athletic: “Sunday night, 2 ½ miles from where he was drafted inside the Sphere, the Wild’s prized first-round pick will do something he never could have imagined last June when he heard his name selected: Become the first player in Wild history to make his NHL debut during a playoff game when the team opens its first-round series against the Golden Knights at rabid T-Mobile Arena. Zeev Buium will take Jon Merrill’s spot on the third defense pair with Zach Bogosian and quarterback the No. 1 power play with Kaprizov, Matt Boldy, Mats Zuccarello  and Joel Eriksson Ek.”
