I think you would have to be fairly certain that both guys will be 100% healthy for the start of the playoffs before you can even consider giving up anything of value in a trade for this year.If Kirill and EK are out until the playoffs she might be a bumpy ride trying to hang onto a playoff spot.
put em both on LTIR and get trading and we'll be LOADED for the postseason. Might as well join the ranks of those who have manipulated the cap and do something with it before they close the loophole
Would love to see Guerin find a way to move Spurgeon though.

was a little tongue in cheek. I don’t think they’ll be big buyers because we never are
Wild add a depth forward.
I was recently informed by a GPLer that I'm related to Airey
I like the move. But it’s not nearly enough at this juncture!Wild add a depth forward.
Decent player. Good fit for what they need. Rather large overpay for what he is now. The best sign from this trade is that it's obvious that this move was made because Guerin is feeling the heat. They have reached the point where Guerin should have to start proving that he deserves to keep his job.
Brodin is now out week to week.

at least the PK should improveBrodin is now out week to week.
Bowness is an awful lot more optimistic about this teams postseason hopes than I unless we're going to win a bunch of 3-2 games. obviously getting healthy is the most important thing, but I just don't see enough scoring to beat the Jets, Stars, Avalanche, Knights or Oilers (this is provided they get it figured out enough at this point to hang onto the wild card; I don't see them finishing ahead of Colorado with this lineup)
Trade with Boston

I never did get my #22 Wild jersey updated from Fiala. Guess I’m glad I didn’t. So this was NOT my fault. 😬
Danila Yurov is likely the next #22 for the Wild. Kid has a chance to be a really good player, so if you could avoid destroying his career, that would be appreciated.Trade with Boston

Wild very well may BLOW their 7 point lead (for 8th playoff spot). Remember that red hot start in October… getting pissed away. It’s certainly smelling that way. Craig can’t be happy at this juncture…and Billy’s G has got to be getting nervous.
There’s just very little transparency with this team either compared to most NHL teams. Lot of smoke from GM but very little public truth telling/admitting. What’s Mark Walberg line from “The Departed” regarding sharing info with the FBI…”feed they shit like they’re mushrooms”? That’s Billy G attitude towards Wild fans…
Initially I liked Billy G compared to stuff shirt non player Fletcher. But now he’s created his own comfortable at failing Country Club team atmosphere .
Don't we at least see what he has planned after all these years of eating salary cap for Parise and Suter? The guy has been playing with one hand behind his back and the players can't stay healthy.
I'd be fine if the oft injured Spurgeon and/or Brodin were moved elsewhere. If you're going to pay big $$ for players we need them on the ice. Brodin seems to be a 50-60 game per year player recently. Hard to win when your missing 1-2 of your top 4 D for most of the season, especially when you're living in salary cap hell.

The guy has proven that he has zero understanding of the salary cap, why would you want to trust him with it again after wasting 4 years to get past his first mistake? If you're going to keep Guerin around, you absolutely need to hire someone who understands the salary cap and the value of players under it.
I am fine with giving him some rope, but not a terribly long one at the same time.
the problem with that approach is that this July is the most critical month this team has seen in a long time. If you're willing to let Guerin handle those decisions, you might as well commit the next 3-4 years to him.I am fine with giving him some rope, but not a terribly long one at the same time.
Can't see this as a desirable destination for potential free agents or KK deciding to stay here. Of course, the money is primary, but the chance to seriously contend for a Cup is a huge factor as well.
Yeah, I thought that might be bad.
What’s the road version of that.
We all love Kaprisov but this team always misses Ek when he’s out.
I'm sure this will rile up some on here. The Athletic did a survey and ranked all 32 NHL ownership groups. Jeff Vinik of Tampa was #1, and Pegula of Buffalo was last. Here is the Wild's ranking.
https://twitter.com/TheAthleticNHL/status/1901620926476874027
11. Craig Leipold
Ever-passionate Minnesotans flooded our survey with the most responses of any fan base, and the results were largely positive. Leipold was ranked sixth for his willingness to spend on the team and eighth for treatment of the fan base, although he ranked middle-of-the-pack in organizational stability and franchise vision.
More success in the postseason is needed to climb higher than this ranking, as many fans are frustrated with the Wild being in the mid-tier again and again.
Fan perspective: “Love his commitment to the fans, but we have never truly been a cup contender since he purchased the team.”
“Ownership’s commitment to ‘going for it’ every year has meant the team has been stuck in the middle for far too long, with only marginal variances up or down. Too good to get good draft picks, too bad to really make noise in the playoffs.”

I've never really thought there were any problems with Leipold as the owner. Other than the fact that he keeps picking the wrong guy once he gets down to the shortlist of GM candidates.
I guess you can argue that he keeps guys around longer than he should, but IMO, that's a better approach than the opposite.
The Wild are just PATHETIC offensively. Brutal to watch. They can’t buy a GOAL. Down 1-0 after the first period tonight AGAIN.

That's kind of everything isn't it?
Yeah, but it's hard to fault him too much for not being able to predict who will end up being a great GM. All three times he has gone through the process, he has had a very good GM on his short list. Problem is he has picked the wrong guy all 3 times.I've never really thought there were any problems with Leipold as the owner. I think Guerin could be a good GM if he had someone along side him who understands the financial side of the job.

Faber with a 3:28 shift, dude is a savage
I hope the puck Rossi took off the knee is just a bruise. The injuries are just crazy this year.

It was a nasty shot and it looked like it him on the side of the knee. I'm thinking they wanted him to put an ice pack on it right away.I hope the puck Rossi took off the knee is just a bruise. The injuries are just crazy this year.
This team can't catch a break. It's like only the top players get hurt.
The Wild want a major update to the X with the State of MN paying 1/2
Aloha!
They can pound sand. Of course the state will probably still end up paying.
Just like The People's Stadium. 😉
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
If the state sets it up to pay a portion commensurate with their playoff success, it would be sweet deal for tax payers.
Win again today 4-1, back to back 4 goal games
Aloha!

Since this post the Wild have played 8 periods out scoring their opponents 11-1.
How about that PATHETIC Wild offense? 😉
Hockey is a funny game you have games where you really struggle to score goals and then have games where the goals come A LOT easier even though as a team you are doing a lot of the same things.
Well…OBVIOUSLY the Wild responded as intended to that jab to the ribs! 😉😆 But if U think the Wild are truly out of the woods offensively, while I’d prefer to believe that assertion…unfortunately I don’t think so.The Wild are just PATHETIC offensively. The Wild are certainly more of a defensive team than an offensive team especially since pretty much all of their top players have missed a dozen or more games this season.
Kaprizov 33 games missed
Zuccarello 13 games missed
Spurgeon 15 games missed
Johansson 10 games missed
Eriksson Ek 28 games missed
Hartman 13 games missed
Middleton 11 games missed
Brodin 31 games missed

I wonder if the coaches have figured out yet that the PK problems were related more to personnel than scheme?
After rattling off a few wins the free fall has begun anew. Doesn’t get any easier looking at the upcoming schedule, either.
This team wouldn’t even make it out of Section 1AA 🤣. 4 lines of dusters.

Ovechkin only needs 6... He might hit that mark Thursday 😉
So someone help me out here... Is it a Salary Cap thing because we've F-ed it up that badly?
Ohgren is recalled and scores a goal vs Seattle. Hasn't seen the ice since. Yet we have AHL players Shore, Gaunce, and Brazeau in the lineup? I don't get it.
The Wild beat the best team in the NHL (Washington) 4-2.
As much as I'm not a Ovi fan, it was classy last night after the game. He had the Capitals come back on the ice to shake hands and pay their respects to Fleury.
Keep your stick on the ice...
