The Wild game is on TNT tonight? I’m sure they’re happy about televising 2 of the worst teams in the league and no Bedard.
But the current leader for the Calder will be on the ice!

3 shots on goal.... combined... over 11 minutes into the game. How exciting!

B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
Hey this Faber kid might be pretty good

Biz to Chelios on the Chicago offense: “even you couldn’t polish that turd”
Biz is awesome.
TBS should put him and Barkley on together.

Are those all real people in the stands?
Not a fan of fighting but that Tinordi/Foligno battle was awesome considering all the connections.

And of course Nick scores…is the NHL scripted too?!?!
Vinni with 2 assists!
I’m sure this will be well received here 😂

What could possibly go wrong with hiring a guy who in the last year has been investigated for covering up a sexual assault and for verbally assaulting his employees?
On the bright side, the Olympics don't have a salary cap, so Guerin won't be able to destroy his team that way.
Clearly a lot of important people have very positive thoughts/assessment of Guerin. The Wild owner isn't alone.
I do suspect that Guerin will get fired at some point after all most GMs get fired.
Wild up 3-2, Pens 6x4 for the final 1:50. Malkin is throwing cross check after cross check. And the stripes just stand there.

Well, Sid threw his mitts around Faber's neck, throwing him to the ice, and Boldy got slew-footed and there were no calls so no surprise they swallowed their whistles late. Refs did the Wild no favors tonight, but it was Fleury's night tonight.
Fleury had an awful turnover that lead to a goal, but other than that he was unreal tonight.
Torts had Pittsburgh pegged years ago 😂

I remember when Cindy went at Ballard after he laid out Malkin. I don't think he understood just how tough Ballard was -- or that he was a southpaw 😆
That's two Minnesota boys, and two Gophers, who figured into slapping up a couple of Mount Rushmore NHLers. 😎
Kirill Kaprizov had 24 assists his rookie season (55 games played).
Faber has played 51 games this season.
What happened to Foligno to go on IR?
Twisted his ankle or knee in the last gameWhat happened to Foligno to go on IR?
That was a heckuva game. After spotting Vegas a 1 goal lead 20 seconds into the game, the Wild clamped down for a nice win. There were a lot of players who had great games, especially Boldy.
I was disappointed Ek couldn't wind up a slapper.
First Gophers hockey, then the Wolves and the Wild. All this town does...
Golden Knight/Wild games are almost always fantastic.

Vegas is the perfect place for a NHL, NFL and I can see the NBA. Just don't seeing the MLB working. I was at the very first Wild game @ Vegas and it was a blast. Wild fans all over and you see that with visiting fans when their team plays the Knights or Raiders. Fans see that one or two games a years and pick one or the other to get to Vegas. NBA would be the same. I just don't see opposing fans wanting to go to Vegas for 2-4 game series a couple times a year. Plus, what fun is Vegas in the dead of summer, even if they play in a dome.
Keep your stick on the ice...
I think MLB fans will be quick to embrace it as a relatively cheap road trip (flights and ample hotel space) especially early or late in the year as the weather cools.
I think that proposed MLB stadium will be inside too which will help.
The NHL look like geniuses getting the first team into Vegas with all the major leagues following suit slowly but surely.

we’ve been watching flights to Vegas for the hockey tournament this fall; I don’t think Vegas is the cheap flight it used to be.

There aren't many cheap flights period.
I doubt I will be able to swing either but I would also love to go to the Gopher football game at the Rose Bowl that weekend.
So the Gophers are going to play at the Rose Bowl twice next season. Cool 😊
The Rose Bowl next season will be a quarter final playoff game so I guess it's only 1 out of 4 that our Quarterfinal game will be at the Rose Bowl after our first round bye in the 12 team playoff.
Unless they pick which quarterfinal match up goes to the Rose Bowl based on conference.
So I keep hearing the Wild will trade Marc-Andre Fleury to a Playoff team for this season then the Wild will resign him for next season
Aloha!
Re-signing Fleury would make about as much sense as giving Foligno a $16M contract.

I mean, the entire roster is coming back as they all have long term deals. Why not bring back the goalies? I mean he is already a former Penguin, over 35, who is on a decline... He is right in Bill Guerin's wheelhouse!
Losing MAF frees up a small amount of cap space (roughly $2.5M), but not enough to change the team. If you cannot unload anyone else, this team is going to continue to be a middling, borderline playoff team or worse. I'd rather not bring Wallstedt into the current version of this team and destroy his confidence.
If it isn't MAF, then just get someone on a cheap one year deal. Don't do something dumb like sign an old goalie to a multiyear deal... (I say this knowing he is likely to sign former Penguin Matt Murray to a 5 year deal at $5M per)
I don't know if it's time to give Wallstedt a permanent spot on the big club, but they absolutely need to put him in a situation where he can come up and down as the season goes. Can't see how Fleury fits into anything like that.Re-signing Fleury would make about as much sense as giving Foligno a $16M contract.

The Wild just won a challenge and there were a lot of cheers from the crowd so solid road presence by Wild fans.
These PHX uniforms are hideous.
Haha the Wild were completely backed up in their own end for about 5 minutes, then Brodin scores off a counter near the end of the 2nd and the period ends with the Wild up 2.
Cooley just scored on Faber.
Faber who almost lost his balance did a decent job of trying to get his stick on that, but it looks like the goalie just whiffed on a shot right in his breadbasket.

Faber is too young for the, "Does this __ make my ass look big?" bit. 🤣
Cooley just scored on Faber.
Probably fitting it happened that way. Faber had a moment of indecision and stumbled on his back skates, which he rarely does.
Cooley got his shot off from a scorable position, but Fleury would want that one back.
Former Gopher gets his moment but the Wild take the win. 😎
I was hoping the broadcast team would get a sitdown with Cooley and Faber together. It would have been a fun interview.
Shaw is back. Pretty hard not to root for him.
