When done right, like that clip, it's amazing.

Even the vibe from the fans last night was just as bad as the play. There was no atmosphere at all from the start to the end. It was hands-down, my worse Vikings event in sometime vending at the people’s stadium. Almost every game there has been vibe, interaction and excitement. And there was none of that from the fans last night I saw or received.
Hopefully some of the fan base can now disembark from the "Cut Kirk and sign Josh to a 10 year extension" train. Once in a while a team catches lightning in a bottle with a journeyman replacing an injured starter, but that's rare. The mobility factor in a QB IS a huge plus though. Someone who can move AND create at the same time can be a nightmare for a defense.
IMO, the rest of the year should be spent giving both Mullens (if healthy) and Hall playing time so they can evaluate whether or not either are truly viable NFL QBs either starting or back up. Determine what their value is for the Vikings or as trade value. Use that information to set up next year's draft and contract negotiations with Kirk.
Don't tank for draft position, but also don't fool yourself that your remaining games have to be solely focused on winning.
I would say it is squarely on KOC. This is the second game in a row that the team had the lead and on the last drive he conceded versus putting the game away. The two runs last night for nothing were embarrassing, setting up a 3rd and long. Teams don't need timeouts when they will have over two minutes to work with to get in field goal position.

I have 0 interest in giving Mullens time.
Hall? 100%. See what you've got in the kid. He looked pretty functional in his drive against ATL before the concussion, he can run around (not like Dobbs but more than Mullens) and can throw a good ball.
If this team is about finding a QB for the future, Hall should get first crack.
Does the tanking in the NFL really consistently improve a team? Seems like the combo of so many players on a team and difficulty assessing that it isn't the same as getting a top 3 - 5 NHL'er for example. Adding one player a little higher in the draft to a team with so many players doesn't seem to make a big dent. Obviously, getting a high QB improves your odds, as well as D lineman, but even there, seemingly sure-things don't always pan out. And then there is the question of how well one evaluates talent and drafts. Seems aside from Addison, Kwasi hasn't gotten high marks. Not really advocating for anything in particular, just questioning if tanking has the same impact in FB as sports like B Ball or hockey.
I can remember when Bud was coach same thing would happen, losing to a terrible team. I remember they were playing at San Diego Vikes were like 10-1 and got blown out by a 1-10 team

If you are in need of the money positions it absolutely does. It is not a guarantee but I would rather draft a QB in the Top Ten then later in the first early second. This is all contingent though on trusting the people drafting.

I am not one of THOSE, but I did suggest that IF Kirk isn't re-signing: Offer Dobbs 5yr/25MM. It's shorter term, low money. Helps the JJ contract as far as salary cap As we all know, contracts are not necessarily guaranteed, and Vikings have Hall tagged as the possible future. Low risk, high reward. After one big game, everyone on the bandwagon. After one horrible game, everyone jumping off. Doesn't seem like Mullens is the answer.

side note: I had to stop reading that book when I realized the film was actually making fun of the book and not adapting it. The book wasn't a critique at all.
Even with Benny Hill antics, the Vikings are not out of playoff possibilities.
Making the playoffs and losing in the first round does nothing for me. Without a legit NFL starting QB this isn’t a ”chip and a chair” situation. It would be a walking dead scenario.
This year yeah it barely moves the needle outside of "holy crap how are we doing this?!?!?" which is entertaining. If Hall was playing I would feel differently, or if last year we stunk and this was a step in the right direction it would be great. But other than that it is probably doing more harm than good long term.
Rube you are out to lunch. They can find a better QB than Dobbs to back up for that kind of money. You don't offer him 5 years as a backup anyways...he isn't 22.
I will go with my Raiders, I have ticket stubs from when they won super bowls 1976 beating the Vikings, 1981 when they beat the Eagles and 1983 when they beat Washington, the game in Tampa I met John Madden at a restaurant where I had to where a suit and tie to get in, he and his party where wearing T shirts and jeans.
Dobbs is FINISHED! At least Mullens can throw a pass when it's supposed to be thrown. Obviously the D won this game. B Flores has done an amazing job with essentially the same players the D coordinator had last season
Dobbs was a nice story while it lasted but there is a reason he's a journeyman backup/3rd stringer.

Key point is "since 2008." Scorigami pointed out: That score has happened 59 times before, most recently on November 26, 2007 (the infamous MIA-PIT game).
