Wondering why Kirk isn't on the sidelines for the rest of the season. Is this a case of he might not be our quarterback next year so we don't want him getting intel for wherever he plays next year?

It is not a great idea for someone who just had surgery and is wearing a cast be standing on the sidelines with players running at him at full speed. I'm sure in a few weeks, he will be back on the sidelines like Rodgers is now....

Jordan Hicks was hospitalized after the game yesterday and developed compartment syndrome in his leg. He's already been ruled out for next week.
Hopefully Barr isn't needed long term, but I assume this is just insurance in case Hicks misses more time and his backup gets hurt.
was he even at the game ?
He's not Taylor Swift so the cameras don't pan to him every 20 seconds but I'd guess he was at the game.
Dobbs has said he and Kirk are in the QB room together every day discussing the gameplan, play installs etc. It's not like he got hurt and ghosted the team.

He's been the QB here for what, 6 years? He's still in all the QB meetings and working with Dobbs every day going over the offense.
What intel do you think he's going to get from the sidelines on gameday that he doesn't already have?

I don't know anything about Jordan Hicks, but compartment syndrome can require long recovery times--delayed diagnosis can lead to loss of an entire limb, and some studies suggest that, in people who suffer severe trauma or require fasciotomy to get rid of the dead tissue and allow for the swelling to progress, mortality rates can be something like 5-15% (if I remember correctly).
Compartment syndrome is a big deal, considered a true medical emergency.
Yeah I would bet Hicks is done for the year...
And I'm literally laughing at the Kirk Cousins takes. Yeah he isn't on the sidelines so he doesn't have intel on a team he has been qb for for YEARS and knows the offense front and back! Cause they are rewriting everything for a journeyman backup who likely won't start next year. It's like a Clancy Book!!
I wonder if Dobbs has any linebacker friends he can set us up with?

So they have 3 remaining home games the Lions,Bears and Packers they can not lose these games
Aloha!
Well hopefully whatever the Saints figured out in the 2nd half isn't translatable to their remaining opponents, or the Vikings find a way to counter on their own.
I don't think the Saints figured out much...I think the Vikes took their foot off the gas to avoid more injuries.

I think the Vikes are growing/becoming familiar with the new system on D, and adapting very well to the new playing style with a way different QB at the helm. I stress the point about the defense.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.

This is what I’m hoping. Plus it is mentally hard to floor it again when you’re still leading the whole time. Give the ball away and their comeback happens much quicker.

Exactly. Hell if Carr doesn't get hurt I doubt the Saints do much of anything. Winston was not what the D was prepared for...and when they finally got used to him in there he reverted back to the mean.
That isnt to say the team is amazing...they are still going to struggle they rest of the way. But I don't think the Saints exposed anything other than we are still dealing with all sorts of hurt and missing players and a QB who hasn't even had time to unpack his luggage.

had a friend who got compartment syndrome in her leg. It's incredibly serious, unimaginably painful, and like you said, took my friend a very long time to recover. She was lucky she immediately went to the hospital.
She was hospitalized for like two weeks. At least one surgery and I'm pretty sure there were multiple.
Nice 4-d chess you idiots
How the refs missed that helmet to helmet hit...I'll never know. I have guesses, but will not know for sure.

A Sean Payton team headhunting?
What are the odds?

Kareem Jackson has been fined, ejected, or suspended for hits like that seemingly every week this year but is still allowed to play.

li wouldn’t trust any team Sean Payton coaches. The guy is scum and should be banned from football.
Keep your stick on the ice...
Darrisaw blew up 22 on Mattison’s long second effort run. Legally and it was beautiful.

What a great play by Dobbs. Shakes off the sack while keeping his eyes downfield and sees Oliver drop in behind the charging LBs for the easy TD catch.
That was a sack, but yeah kind of a pointless challenge.

Thats the obvious time for the “after further discussion” rule the refs use, which is really replay from the booth quickly.
This is pretty silly at this point. ?

When does @Handyman at least CONSIDER making Dobbs a possible starter? For a reminder, I suggested mediocre money ($5MM/year, 5 years) in CASE Kirk Thuggins doesn't come back.

The "expedited review" thing definitely could have been used there. Bummer for Patrick Jones who got his first career sack but doesn't get credit for it.

IF Kirk doesn't want to come back (he has openly stated he wants to multiple times), then the Vikings plan is probably to bring Dobbs back on a 1-2 year deal and draft/develop a QB. But I would be shocked if they turn the whole future over to him barring a miracle Super Bowl run. Even then I think they still try to bring Kirk back on a reduced contract.
I fully expect Kirk back on a reduced.
And yes, draft for the future.
There is no way they are gonna hand the keys to the Cadillac to Dobbs, so to speak, hence the terms I suggested.

Dalvin Cook has 147 yards rushing this year, he has played in all 9 games. Less than Zach Wilson.
Has he declined that much that fast?

Yes and no. The Jets offense is TERRIBLE.

Give Chandler all the carries. Mattison is slow.
I'm not convinced yet that Dobbs will be a quality starter in the NFL, but I am convinced that I would rather go into next season with him and not Cousins. What a great play by Dobbs. The defense seems to be improving/adapting to B-Flo's system, which does affect offense. I think MN can work with Dobbs or Cousins, different style offenses of course, but...

The Jets O is terrible but Breece Hall is averaging almost 5ypc to Dalvin's 3.1.
I think the bigger thing is the Jets don't have a good FB like CJ Ham and Dalvin was at his best the last couple seasons running behind CJ.
Collinsworth pumping Mattison’s tires, because of course he is.
He’s actually had some good runs today so far, but… yeah.

At least they called that one since they let the one on 2nd down go uncalled
Broncos hitting receivers early every play betting the officials won’t call it every play. So far they’re right.
