Dobbs now has a TD running, a TD passing, and a 2 point conversion passing. He certainly is not a really good QB but you got to give him credit for what he is doing today after being with the team for only 4 days and doing it with key offensive players missing (multiple WRs and LT).
He gets a ton of credit...but my lord the Atlanta coaches and players are just flailing out there. Bad calls, bad execution and bad decisions.
Dobbs play is not of a quality caliber and long term will lead to a lot of bad plays and losses but it's working this game so good job! It's not sustainable though.
Dobbs is the type of QB who has a ton of above average skills but no truly exceptional skills. Its why he'll probably have a job as a backup QB in the NFL for a long time. He's exceptionally smart, has a strong arm that is mostly accurate, and he can make plays running the ball. He's not a long-term starting QB for a serious team but he may be a perfect fit for the Vikings the rest of the year.
His ability to make plays with his feet is certainly the biggest difference maker in the game currently.
Sure looked like they had one of Hockenson’s arms held up before the ball got there but no call. Meh.
PA said at the beginning of the game that Atlanta leads the league in PI/defensive holding calls so they are obviously very handsy/physical. Refs have been letting the DBs get very physical on both sides today.
The Past Is History. The Future Is a Mystery. Today Is a Gift. That’s Why It’s Called the Present
IMO Minnesota sports fans would be better off if we remembered this while watching our teams.
What they are doing today with a brand new QB and all the injuries is amazing. I stick by this whether they end up winning the game or not.
Yup.
Right now is perfect anyways. If they win games it's gonna be hilarious and fun, if they lose long term it is probably better. So just sit and enjoy yourself. This game has been terrible skillwise but fun as heck executionwise.

Interesting call here. Heinecke's knee is down but Harrison punched the ball out without touching Heinecke at all.
The referees ruled the play is dead because he was "giving himself up" by diving head first (like a slide) so no fumble can be forced.
I'm pretty sure that rule has nothing to do with a fumble, but why would the NFL let the rule book get in the way?
The way they talked on the radio broadcast it sounded like the play is dead where he starts his dive. Which would be odd but that's basically how the slide works too.
Ok, this is turning into an awesome story. Unbelievable!

As far as I know, that's only how it works when a QB slides. Headfirst dives are different. And even if that's the case, then the officials missed the spot by 3-4 yards

I think Blandino said if the ball came out before he touched the ground it wound be a fumble but said it should not be overturned. No idea myself...

Dobbs leads a 11 play 75 yard drive in a minute and 46 seconds calling no time outs.
Atlanta decided defense is optional?
How PAC 10 of them! ???

Joshua Dobbs channeling his inner Kirk Cousins leads a late game winning TD drive (something Kirk did many times late season) in the first game without Cousins. Before the game many Vikings players were wearing Kirk Cousins T shirts. What a way to show their love for their QB than to win this way.

Our coaches definitely don't have an issue leading comebacks!
Of course they aren't winning the Super Bowl this season but what KOC and Kwesi are building is impressive. They are now 18-8. All the 4th quarter wins late season and what has happened over the past month going 4-0 without Jefferson (including beating the 49ers) is not common. This is an indication of what the team is building. Atlanta was 4-4 (they aren't a bad team) going into today. To go on the road and win with all the injuries they are dealing with is special.
This team is not in a tear it down and start over mode they are building something and the foundation is there as shown by their ability to make key plays late to win games (this season and last season).
You can try to say winning close games is luck but when you keep doing it it stops being luck and shows the team is being build right.
Game winning TD was a pass from a QB I had not heard of until Tuesday to a WR I hadn’t heard of until he caught the TD pass.
Sports!

Instilling a winning culture.
I agree with the overall sentiment here. I have to admit, you don’t see them give up on a game. They refuse to think they’re out of it until it is literally impossible to come back. Personnel be damned.
When Hall went down, it was my opinion (fair or not) that Hill was more a pocket passer that was mobile, and Dobbs was more a running QB that could pocket pass, and the play-calling basically had to be reversed.
Either way, Dobbs did wayyyyyyyyyyy more than ever expected.
