Something popped on FB about an Arkansas QB Taylen Green moving to Minnesota. It looked 'kinda' sketchy even though it seemed to have quotes from him saying why he made the move. So I decided to search.
First of all I think the 'article' had his name wrong. Then when I went back to FB it was 'gone'. So I found the proper name and searched again on FB and to no surprise, there is an Apr 1 post saying he's committed with The Oaklawn Aces (whatever that is), 5h ago from Arkansas Fans Community saying he signed a huge NLI deal with ARK, March 31st Texas A&M Football page saying he's going there, and one from March 3 saying he was going to Georgia.
Random video that popped up on my YT home page. Ko seems to be proud of his days at the U. I think he tries to give a shout out to the Gophers during his intro but they removed the mic just as he was saying it. Then about a minute later he gives another shoutout to the Gophers.
Edit:apparently I can't post the video, but here is the title:
Lifting With NFL Tight End Ko Kieft And Local Firefighter Nathan Welty
It’ll be interesting how much the BIG will caudle the teams on the west coast. Last year I think only one west coast team played a 11 (CT)/12 (ET) kickoff. Though many 8/8:3/9 (PT) kickoffs.
PJ is as good of a HC in 🏈 as the Gophers are capable of snagging until maybe the 2030’s. This school (for decades) has had a reputation for where HC coaching careers go to die. PJ has done & is doing a solid job…and despite all his blah blah bluster…it works with these kids for 4-5 years. Not trying to be negative, fact’s are simply facts. This is a premier job for a D1 Hockey coach. In 🏈 it’s a BIG job and not in the top half of BIG jobs.
I don’t pay a lot of attention to football, but I applaud Fleck’s approach of helping college kids focus on what is important - getting an education and being a good human being. That is what college/life should be about and not the greed that is running amok in college athletics and in society in general these days. I’d rather watch a bunch of hard working kids that want to play for the U for reasons other than being arrogant, greedy jerks. 🤷♀️
Don’t pay as much attention to football as I do hockey (tbf I don’t pay as much attention to any team/sport as I do Gopher hockey) but after the off season and hearing some rumblings around this team I’m cautiously optimistic that this team could be sneaky good. I’m hoping for a fun nine win season but we’ll see. The pessimistic side of me says we’ll get seven. As I just mentioned the optimist in me says nine. So that means realistically we’ll get eight and we’ll drop one that we probably should have won but sneak out a win when we probably shouldn’t have. But right now before the first kickoff is kicked, the first pass is passed, the first tackle tackled who cares about that. Football is back, baby, and that means two things. Fall is right around the corner and most importantly hockey season isn’t too far behind! Let’s go, Gophers!
Pretty ugly but at least they aren’t playing a mediocre team like NC in a nail biter. This team always looks rough especially early on in the first game of the year.

Lindsay is gonna be watching a LOT of tape early in the season
Receivers, too.

Buffalo punts the ball with just under 10 minutes left and never gets the ball back.
The Gophers end the game with a 16 play (15 runs, 1 pass) drive killing the last 9 minutes and 45 seconds off the clock. On the drive Buffalo called all three of their timeouts (to save 40 seconds each time) so it was basically the equivalent of an almost 12 minute drive.

Lindsay definitely has a good arm. Needs to work on footwork and decision making. For a first start as a redshirt freshman, it doesn’t get much better. Has a lot of tools to work with.
Darius Taylor should not be getting 30 carries in a non-conference game. There were plays he looked exhausted. Give the other two guys 5 more carries each and it’s a much better split.
Hopefully it was just first game of the season nerves, but the TE, Geers needs to better his hands. Two wide open drops and even his catches he struggled to bring in. No too many were clean caught.
Lindsay is the first QB that I recall call that I was excited for after the first game of the season.
