Ziemer has had a really good tournament. Hasn’t scored a bunch, but doing the little things right. Winning puck battles. Been good to see
Better to be lucky than good!! Lucky lucky second goal
And that one was not lucky. Beautiful shot from Hutson

I really think this tourney has done wonders for Ziemer. I expect a big 2nd half from him.

Nail biter! Where was that intensity the first two thirds of the game?! Let’s Go USA! I’d love a Gopher goal! 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
Well, first half. Starting a little after the mid-way point, they really turned it on.Nail biter! Where was that intensity the first two thirds of the game?! Let’s Go USA! I’d love a Gopher goal! 🇺🇸 🇺🇸

Finland out shot the US 13-8 in the first period.
The US out shot Finland 15-4 in the 2nd period and 11-5 in the third period.
Team USA has been the better team the past two periods.
STIGA!!!!!!!

Yeah baby!!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
If you're only going to score one goal in the World Juniors... OT of the Gold Medal game is the right time.
What an overall tournament for USA. Stumbled a bit here and there, but kept fighting and pulled it out.

Zeev Buium (Minnesota Wild 1st round draft pick) and Brodie Ziemer with the assists.

Oh my! USA really turned that around and asserted their dominance, can’t wait until the three-peat next year 😉
What a pass by Buium!
Wild should sign him tonight. 🤔😉

Hadn't really processed this at the time, but it was: Stiga from Buium and Ziemer

I was skeptical of Free Bird as the goal song at first. I've come full circle on it after hearing it for the game winner last night. In fact, I think they should have just let the guitar solo keep playing for the entire celebration. Who wouldn't want to celebrate with that 4 minute guitar solo playing?
I was really hoping they'd let that instrumental portion keep going during the celebration. I know you've got to cut it off short within the game itself, but, until something actually starts happening, let the music continue.

With so many Minnesotans on the team, I figured Gold was foregone conclusion.
With the tourney next being here, it’ll be interesting to see how much of an extra push USA Hockey will do to win on USA soil w/o putting to much pressure on the team.

How do you suppose they would push to win more this coming year than any other year?
How do you suppose they would push to win more this coming year than any other year?
it’s a question I tossed out there. Yes, the goal is to win it every year. And you’re only the players your dealt. Though with the popularity of the Tourney, it’s going to be way bigger than Grand Forks and bigger than the 2 previous at Buffalo. 4th in Grand Forks and 3rd both times in Buffalo. Plus bring 2 time defending gold medalist and on American soil, the target is going to be on their back… especially coming from Canada.

In any sport it is very tough to repeat, let alone 3 peat. The biggest issue is, from what I have been reading, is that there is a dip in talent coming through the development program the next couple of years. Of course players could improve over the next year, and that could change. If Hagens and Hutson don't turn pro, they will be cornerstones next year, but the USA will have to replace Augustine.
