I remember he flipped me with a hip check along the boards. I'm not sure I'd get up from that nowadays.

I was a member of the last class to graduate from Golden Valley HS, we played our hockey games at Golden Valley ice center, it was a very scary arena to play hockey on. 3 of the 4 boards had a cement wall right behind boards, I saw a player who fell down on the ice he slid feet first into the boards he broke both of his legs in his fall

North side of what was Highway 12, now 394 between Lousiana & Turners Crossroad.
I remember those concrete walls. Low ceiling too.
I played in that rink maybe twice, but do remember it for how weird it was:

The Minneapolis junior Bruins played there, it was the only arena I ever saw with 1 penalty box, it was center ice where to time keeper was set. Just think about a game where a fight breaks out on the ice both players sent to the sin bin and have to spend the penalty box with who they fought with.

Thinking back to one of the the first skates when YE was on the ice with us, I think he is about 2-3 younger now than I was then.
