Shame on me 🫣
Seriously though, really excited for this coming season. It’s been a while since we’ve brought in a group as exciting as Primerano, Mlýnková and Morrow at the same time.
Was going to post some stuff on Sydney Morrow for those that follow the women’s side a bit, but not in depth and don’t know why this has got some of us excited. I decided not to as the Gopher Sports story did a nice job, I thought. Better writing than my crap. In talking about Sydney’s hockey family they did leave out her younger siblings. Younger sister SOPHIE will be a senior on Shattuck’s Prep team this coming season and then will play at Penn State. Younger brother SPENCER was a senior defenseman on Shattuck’s u18 team this past season. Not sure what his future plans are. Four Morrow siblings through the Shattuck program. Hopefully there was a volume discount.

Welcome to the 21st Century. These players have been watching NHL and PWHL players wearing high numbers for years, of course they are going to follow suit.
I think they're kind of cool for a change of pace.
Mlýnková (Vermont) and Clark (Etobicoke) are wearing the numbers they wore on their previous teams. Parkkonen wore 14 (Maggie Nicholson’s number) last year at Vermont and Graham wore 4 (Audrey Wethington’s number) last year at Rink Academy-Kelowna.
Notable that there are 11 non-MN players on this year's team. 15 Minnesotans.
@outofstateoutofmind I would bet that is the highest % of in-state players on any major power in women's hockey program. WI and OH only have a handful.
With the Sox season this year hopefully they don’t sign her.
Chloe Primerano and Gracie Graham are among the players mentioned here….
From “The Hockey News: “Who is the team to beat in NCAA Women's Hockey?”
As a fan that doesn't pay attention nearly as close as Iceburg and others above, this team should be pretty dang good, correct?

Unfortunately I still see a substantial gap between Wisconsin and the field, but this should be one of the most entertaining Gopher squads at least since Heise and Zumwinkle were here.
The Gopher’s five European players will be playing in tournaments closer to home starting this weekend.
Pretty much unheard of for 🇨🇦 to consider someone this young for the senior women’s team.
EDIT: Of course after checking out the ROSTER for the camp, maybe the Canadians are changing their ways a bit. Chloe is the youngest and the only 2007 birth year, but there is a 2006 and a 2005 also.

A completely unsurprising list. Hoping the Gophers can put together a bit better performances against the Buckeyes and BADgers this season. They went 0-4 vs OSU, and 1-4 vs Becky. Their only other losses all year were vs Mankato in the 1st round of the WCHA (they won the next two) and v Clarkson in 4OT
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?

Good news: Gophers up 4-0 after one.
Bad news: We’ve lost the 🤬 picture
Still no picture,
4-1 after two periods.
4-1 final. I left the house so not sure if the picture returned. Murphy with two goals. Kreisz and Primerano with one apiece.
Fun game to be at, got to see UConn's new arena for the first time.
Things quieted down offensively after the first period, but it was a great defensive performance minus the turnover that led to the UConn goal. This is a much better blue line than last year on paper.
Very impressed by Mlynkova's stick skills. Murphy is still drawing the ire of everyone she plays against.
Technical difficulties on the ESPN+ stream 😡

Most likely an issue just getting the stream to ESPN+ from the UConn student crew.

Gophers tied it. Now don't put Nicholson out there!!
So, I had to leave. What happened?

Nicholson apparently dinged up. Don’t think she played after the first period on Friday. Hopefully they score some goals today.

@j22 Thanks for posting, was at the game but it was one of those “did I see that the way I think I did” moments.
Bob should bring in Abbey Murphy to help the men's team learn how to score on penalty shots (based on the Gopher extended losing streak in shoot outs).
That move is SICK!!!! Is there anything Abbey can't do?
