The Gophers instagram just started following Falloon so I would take that as a pretty good sign he is or will be committing.
They have 14 forwards. If they're going to keep Michel they should carry 15 next year. You want a 5th line to make practice easier anyways.
Pahlsson, Hendrickson, Ziemer, Reid/Transfer/Flip
Pahlsson, Hendrickson, Ziemer, Falloon
What a run of older talent in the past 2 weeks. I like the fact that Falloon, Pahlsson and Gruba are all 6’2. We need all the inches we can get with Mooney bringing down the team average!
Still likely room for an here or there but next two classes filling up quickly:
2024
F Ziemer
F Hendrickson
F Pahlsson
F Falloon
D Gruba
D Whipple
D Yakesh
G Bartoskiewicz
2025
F Mooney
F Reid
F Townsend
F Nevers
F Moore
D Phillips
D Rombach (maybe 2026)
D Grimes (maybe 2026)

Doubt Moore is ready by 2025. He needs a couple years of juniors.

Tend to agree. Just eyeing realistic numbers. With him back at Minnetonka (presumably) 2026 definitely feasible.

Javon Moore signs his NLI according to Minnetonka twitter. Highly doubt that means he’s coming in next year though.
I believe in the past some high schools have staged a signing when maybe it’s not a true signing by rules of the NCAA. I think that might have happened with Brady Yakesh.
Speaking of Wheeler, he has Whipple ranked 56th for the 2024 Draft. Ziemer an honorable mention.

I checked -- it's just Minnetonka recognizing their players and not all of them officially signing an NLI. Moore has a lot going well for him, but he needs some more time to round out his game.
I think fans should be pretty encouraged to see Motzko getting some older players into the mix and I think it's obvious that the gentleman's agreements are a thing of the past -- although it's mostly advisors calling coaches, not coaches calling advisors. While Clark has worked out really well so far this year, grabbing kids a year too early is not something programs like Minnesota should be doing consistently.
Sounds like Pahlsson and Falloon could be nice centers for the Gophers down the line. It's a critical position for the program.
A lot of action in recruiting in the past month so to recap where everyone is at:
USHL:
Beckett Hendrickson F - Sioux Falls
Hayden Reid F - Sioux Falls
Erik Pahlsson F - Dubuque
Teddy Townsend F - Waterloo
Jackson Nevers F - Waterloo
August Falloon F - Tri-City
Jacob Rombach D - Lincoln
Matthew Grimes D - Sioux Falls
Leo Gruba D - Fargo
USNTDP:
Brodie Ziemer F - U18
John Whipple D - U18
LJ Mooney F - U17
Mace’o Phillips D - U17
BCHL:
Brady Yakesh D - Cowichan Valley
MN High School:
Javon Moore F - Minnetonka
Townsend/Nevers ??
Consider the cupboards restocked.
Some rumblings on the high school board Eden Prairie has some issues, resulting in Moe and Townsend playing a full season in USHL. Do not know if there is anything to it.
Regardless, likely a light group of high school recruits this year.
One fan would say that there are not enough high draft picks on that list. ?
Can't wait for more names to be added to the list. ( looking at you Blake Vanek )

Well tBob has some added some beef across the lineup recently, and Vanek fits. Also very curious on Parker Deschene and Gavin Kor.
He learned from last year frozen four older larger players needed
Aloha!
Not sure who runs it, but a couple quick updates on the Recruits page here. Phillips' name links to Hayden Reid's page and Brodie Ziemer's name is spelled wrong.
Nevers is going back to Edina. Have to think he might win Mr. Hockey

Deschene is small, but obviously talented. Great vision.

Thanks Vegoe! I’m pretty sure Yakesh was the same situation. Likely take the HS announced NLIs with a grain of salt then. Wait for the official announcements from the U.
Get Falloon to flip Trevor Connelly.
This short clip makes Falloon look very helpful:

The latest YHH pod goes through all the comings/goings and they indicated both were likely USHL bound for the year. I agree with them that it seems a bit early for Moe to spend a whole year there with only 1 point in seven games, but so many kids want to rush up as fast as possible and I'm sure Madison would like to keep him for a while as they're 8-2 so something must be going right.

BTW now that Gruba signed, I'm expecting Pahlsson, Whipple and Ziemer signings become official in the next couple days.
I would expect Falloon signing as well, right?
Will Yakish sign a LOI now or has he potentially played himself out of a roster spot next year?
Not sure where to put this but the USA U18’s just gave up SIX GOALS in the third period against Sweden as the game heads into overtime. They led 5-0 after 2??

Yakesh has no more junior eligibility. It's either he comes in next year or he doesn't at all.
If he is supposed to be an offensive defenseman, you'd expect a ton of points in the BCHL. Otherwise not sure what role he's supposed to fill.
Pahlsson signed his NLI

Playing on a line with Hagens and Stiga currently, he will put up a lot of points if that continues.
Gruba with a whopping 9 shots on net tonight. That’s super impressive for a defenseman.

A couple of goals in the greasy area. Great to see.
Seems like Ziemer is doing well on the big stage. Maybe a few people over reacted to his slow start this year...

Hendrickson with 2 goals tonight. Grimes missed the game with an injury.

Was curious if Grimes was injured given he missed the weekend slate. Makes sense.
So based on the recent flurry of new signings, is there where tBob has to practice the black art of balancing adding new talent with potential players leaving next year?
Seems like we have almost a full squad for next year (maybe room for 1-2 more?) but, if given the chance, how much more does he add? Guess some of it depends on the players, but it doesn't seem like he likes the portal. Seems like its a tough juggling act at this point.
Ziemer is out scoring Eiserman so far in the U18 tournament ??

Doesn’t seem like there’s any room for portal adds next year. Definitely not for D and goalie, not seeing a need at forward either.

Whipple with a couple of assists today, as well, and up to 9 assists on the year, which matches his total from last season. Currently scoring at a .53 pts/g pace compared to last seasons .22. Seemed like a pretty good couple of tournaments for both the U17/18 recruits and potential recruit, Kvasnicka.
Whipple 4gp 0-4-4
Ziemer 4gp 3-5-8
Mooney 7gp 3-4-7
Phillips 7gp 1-0-1
Kvasnicka 3gp 4-2-6
Whipple and Ziemer officially signed...

Falloon and Pahlsson also signed, per the Gopher Hockey account.
