Gophers ranked #2 in this recruiting class per this web site
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
I don’t care much for class rankings as it basically turns into a who can have the most one and dones competition.
I will say I love how many high end guys Bob has gotten recently that project to be elite 4 year guys. Moore, Eiserman, Rinzel and Whipple are likely to sign before their senior year (a long time from now yes but that’s how they project). Ziemer, Hendrickson, Clark, Townsend and the all others will all likely be elite 4 year guys.
I love the balance.
I realize that rankings are just like polls, and lots can change before they hit campus. I just find it interesting that with all the hype Michigan gets that the Gophers are still going toe to toe with them.

Woah this is an odd one. Former Gopher recruit turned Badger football player Jake Ratzlaff back in USHL.
We expect to lose 3 D and only have 2 set to come in if he still looks good after not playing for a while.
We also have 9 rostered this year so losing 3 and gaining 2 may be the plan all along.
Watching the US play Canada West at World Junior A Challenge. Rinzel looks good. He drew a penalty. Also uncommitted Ryan St. Louis looks like a very talented little player although I believe Vermont probably has the inside track on him.

A little more here on the Ratzlaff situation……….
…………Doesn’t seem likely that he’d end up here. The Gophers had a similar situation once, although only a few of us here are of an age to remember it.

Seems strange that Jess didn't ask him about the Gophers since that is the team he committed to play hockey for previously.

Watching the USA game with lunch. Oliver Moore is freaking nasty.

Russ Anderson will always have a dear spot in my heart for the 1976 NCAA semi-final matchup against Boston U.

If he wants to play for Granato, as mentioned in the article, he better play this year....have to figure that sinking ship is being towed out of the harbor.
Just don't understand why any player would want to subject themselves to such torture.

Sam Rinzel just took it coast to coast and sniped top shelf to give the US a 4-1 1st period lead on Canada East. His skating is absurd for a kid that's 6'4".
The Rinzel goal looked like when a bantam A player jumps on the ice with the squirts just for fun.
In most of the Waterloo (USHL) games I’ve looked at this year Sam Rinzel is top 2 on his team in shots on net. Crazy for a defenseman. Guy just buzzes around the ice.

Hey - I'm one of the few! Anderson went to Washburn with some of my neighbors, and I went to school with the son of Coach Olive.

Is Eiserman on pace to break any scoring records for US-Under 17?
His linemate, James Hagens (uncommitted) is almost going goal for goal and point for point with Eiserman. That is a heck of a duo.

If anyone is wondering (like I was), the Hagens kid is a Long Island native.

I almost edited my post once I saw Hagens numbers also... they are both scoring at a prolific pace
Cole Eiserman (Newburyport, Mass.) and Cole Hutson (Barrington, Ill.) led the team with six points each, while Eiserman led in goals scored with four and Hutson ranked first amongst Team USA with four assists
Eiserman had quite a tournament.

I think I heard the announcer say he was the 17th player in USDP U-17 with 30 goals in a season.
I looked back over past 10 seasons and there have been 3 30 goals USDP U17 players:
Chaz Lucious 31 goals 46 games
Cole Caufield 44 goals 40 games
Colin White 33 goals in 47 games.
I believe Cole now has 30 in 29 games? Is this correct?

I saw in the U18’s game v und that Moore got injured by a hit not even a minute in & didn’t return - hopefully it was precautionary & not long term.

How did the Gophers land this kid? Not sure I can think of another player from Mass. who decided on Minnesota.

He grew up a Gopher fan due to family from Minnesota. And then he went to Shattuck.

It's funny but even his name sounds East coast. ?
First from MA and New England as far as I recall.
Regarding the article, they obviously have not been to The Smack Shack. Damn good lobstah roll. ? It's damn good!
