Good for Lucas! My youngest son played against him in HS as a senior (Lucas was a sophomore). I always respected Lucas decision, that if he couldn’t be a Gopher hockey player (achieve his dream) that he’d just enroll at the U and attend school. And this time of year living in San Diego sounds pretty good to me!
Great news for Huglen. Hard to know what to expect but getting back on the ice will have to be a great feeling.
Nice set of mitts!

Trio of assists for Pinoniemi tonight, who is over a PPG for the Stampede. Still no sign of Charlie Strobel for Waterloo.
Huglen is en fuego since returning. Already a goal and assist tonight. Great to see.

It had gotten to the point, being out a year and a half with a back injury, where I wasn't counting on him to ever make it to the Gophers. He's quite the player when healthy though, and I'd love to have a Roseau kid on the team.
Watched a couple of Huglen’s games on hockey TV. He’s consistently been dangerous with stick skill. Hopefully he can stay healthy.
Noticed Joey Miller didn’t play this weekend with Chicago, did he decide to return to Blake after all?

He's not on Blake's roster.
Heard Miller was sick last weekend.
I believe Brody Lamb, Nick Williams, and Luke Mittelstadt are the only Gopher commits playing HS hockey this year. That is assuming Williams is still committed and Mittelstadt is returning to EP.
Very low number compared to most years (last year there were 9) but obviously a very weird, stunted high school season.
Maybe we’ll see a new commit soon that’s playing high school this year.
Huglen stays hot.

Per the Team USA website, Cruz Lucius is now 5'11"/176. Big growth spurt the last two years.

I see Strobel listed here.
My bad, App defaulted to last years roster and I didn’t notice as I was only looking for Strobel. Still only 2 games played...

Yep, that is a concern, but I'm guessing he'll play Jr for at least another year after this.
Will be interesting to see how many points Kurth can pile up while playing with the one of the top 04' players in North America. A lot of WHL and BCHL players heading south for some ice time.

Sounds like Rhett asked for the trade.

Something went sideways there. A couple of quotes from the President of Hockey ops of the Lumberjacks. On the bright side he gets to play on the same team as Knies.

Huglen already with a pair of goals tonight, one assisted by Broz. Article above says his 2021-2022 home is still undecided but he may be forcing his way onto the roster.

I went to the Force game tonight, Huglen was by far the best player on the ice! I can not wait for him next year. His skating will transition immediately to the NCAA next year.

How’d Bracinni look? He hasn’t really stood out in any way in games I have watched online. He has 1 more year of eligibility and USHL is pretty deep this year with less teams and kids from CHL etc.
Chaz Lucius have a broken leg or what’s his injury? Saw somewhere it says lower body, but he’s been out for quite some time. Also no sightings from Strobel in Waterloo or Warner. Not sure if Warner is injured or not playing hockey this year?
I hope Strobel improves enough to make the team. Just based on his high school tournament interviews alone he seems like an articulate, natural born leader. Could make for a great character guy like Grant potulny.

Bracinni looked like he belonged but just didn't do anything to stand out. He was playing 2nd line. I think one more year would help him if he isn't need this next year. He wouldn't be more then 4th line right away. The extra year of development and more PP time will help. Broz and Huglen were on the top line and a big reason why they are on top the west standings. Huglen was on the ice constantly. He was the lone Forward for most of a 1:45 5on3 pk and looked very good. Broz and him brought a lot of speed when they were on the ice. They will fit in Motzko's system perfectly! If Huglen is healthy, he should come in next year. He would be a top 9 guy.
Charlie Strobel was listed as “IR” on Waterloo’s line chart tonight.
The Athletic's Scott Wheeler is doing a run down of every NHL teams top prospects. Today he looks at Buffalo. Ryan Johnson is #6 and to my surprise Aaron Huglen is still #14. The material that the Athletic provides for its cost is well worth it.

Huglen missed all of last season with a back injury and rejoined Fargo in the USHL at the start of January, more than a dozen games into their new season. That year and half off is going to be tough for him to overcome (it is for any player his age) but he has ridiculous hands and impressive creativity with the puck and has looked really comfortable back on the ice. I’m already looking forward to tracking him with the Golden Gophers next year.

Looks like Nate Warner finally skated in a game for the St. Cloud Norsemen last night. Both Joe Miller and Charlie Strobel still out for respective squads.
Corey Pronman's updated rankings. Lucius up to #9 from #10 .

And more importantly, finally an update on his injury timeline (kind of).
Joe Miller is back in the Chicago lineup after missing a month of action.

Nate Warner with his first NAHL goal last night. Been a bumpy development road with shoulder injuries. Hopefully he can get back on track.

^ I love seeing all of the Huglen highlights in this thread. With how long he was out due to his back injury, I had admittedly completely written him off as a prospect so it is great to see him back and playing really well this year.
Not a bad top four points leaders on the Fargo Force for Gopher commits:
For overall USHL, Broz is currently sitting #9 with Pinoniemi #16 w/ 24 pts in 26 games.
