May have to decline the PP when OSU comes to town….unless Burnside is in the box.
Is everyone ok now after the way the Gophers responded tonight? Are we back on for Tampa?
I’m a fan sink or swim, but last night’s effort was ugly. Not going to excuse that, but I loved the bounce back today. They are going to get outplayed some games, but they need to bring the effort every night. It’s a young team that hopefully learned last night that they aren’t going to win on talent alone.

Even though we were on the PP, we only had 4 men on the ice for his second because of a bad line change. Gotta clean up those mental mistakes. I thought the PK looked better tonight though. Still not great, but better.
Bob said to Jess that LaCombe was one of the guys who missed practice this week. Other than his goal, I did think LaCombe was a bit erratic with the puck tonight. Special teams need some work. Not sure what the problem is with a team with that much talent. I hope the fact Cooley will be playing the team he was committed to next week that it will get him going. Concerned about Nevers, but he did come out and skate around while the refs were reviewing the play. Maybe get Staudacher in a game to give Thomas a night off and maybe Staudacher can help with the PK. Split on the road against a top 11 team. I will take it. Team needs to keep building chemistry and building for the ultimate goal.
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
When Bob compared last night’s effort like a visit to the dentist you know it’s bad.
(I’m a huge fan of everyone going to the dentist)

To clarify my comment about the inconsistent Big Ten plus coverage, I had zero problem with the actual OSU student stream production. Being a student stream I thought for the most part they did a decent job. I was more frustrated with the Big Ten’s production and the actual stream cutting out. It unfortunately happened to me twice.
Interesting weekend of hockey. Some good, some meh, and some just downright bad. But good to get that first road series out of the way and I’m looking forward to getting back to Mariucci next weekend.
Some of you need to relax on about the student lead broadcast via BTN+... At least we see the damn game.

The fact Bucci doesn’t call all of our games is just unacceptable.
Nice bounce back game for Gophers. I hope Nevers is OK. Those knee on knee injuries are scary

I would never watch Gopher Hockey again if he was our announcer. He is the frigging worst.

I don't like you anymore. 😛
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
First road series of the year for a team loaded with freshman. A hiccup should have been expected. Now they know what is is expected and how hard to bring it. It’ll only get harder for future road games.
Looking forward to this new winning streak!
Yeah if they find any consistency on the PP they’ll see some win streaks.
Split on the road. Solid rebound. OSU looks good.
The Big Ten is off to a good start in general and I was impressed with Ohio State. Should be a good conference season.
Nice rebound win. OSU is OSU. Tough to play against. Now let’s sweep Notre Dame
I did the doubleheader of the women's and men's games Saturday. First, off Ohio States women's hockey rink is embarrassing. I'm pretty sure 90% of Minnesota high school hockey teams have better rinks than Ohio State does. Secondly, Value City Arena is a nice arena but it is just way too big. It's almost eerie how quiet it would get during the game and it doesn't help that they didn't have a pep band for the game. Overall I thought the team looked good and it's not often you give up two shorthanded goals in a game. Excited for the rest of the season and Go Gophers!
If a “hiccup” for this team is splitting on the road vs a top 10 team then we’re doing something right. Wasn’t able to watch either game but sounded like the team, and more importantly Close, bounced back well

I did the doubleheader Saturday too. Did you stay for the entire womens game or did you head over to catch the start of the Mens game?
That had to be the longest regular season womens game I've ever seen - it was 2 hours and 50 minutes when the shootout ended, so the Men were already well into the 2nd period by the time we got into our seats. We also caught the Men on Friday night too though.
I agree with your thoughts on the facilities, I'm surprised they don't have the women also play at Value City, at least when they already match up with the mens schedule. Obviously that wouldn't be ideal either, but at least it would be a better facility and on par with the "atmosphere" at places like Duluth and St. Cloud, and not even that much different than the hollow feeling at the OSU mens games. Hopefully, for everyone's sake, the Hockey specific facility proposal that was mentioned on last week's GPL podcast will eventually come to pass.
