No let downs. No playing down to our opponent. Just go in to Columbus and get two solid wins, keep everyone healthy, get some guys feeling good about their game again, and then get home for the break. Nothing fancy, just take care of business.
Yeah ideally they won’t look like they’re skating in mud for much of the weekend and take better care of the puck. They do that and they should be fine.

yup. Go through this stretch 8-0 or 7-1 and the record looks much nicer and you give yourself some cushion. Losses here are going to hurt us in the PWR substantially more

I cringe every time the opposing team gets a breakaway. During a game or in a shootout - his kryptonite it seems.

OSU has scored 9 goals in 8 Big Ten games, RMU is the 2nd worst team in the PWR and CC has beaten no one. They have to start putting it together at some point or they’re going to get on the wrong side of the bubble with the games getting more difficult to get sweeps and make up ground. This team absolutely has the talent to take 7/8 games in this stretch. They’re 4-2-2 in their last 8. This first set is the biggest as I think they’re going to be much better after the reset at the break. I’m just more bullish they’re good enough to do it and assert they are going to be there at the end of the year. If they don’t get to the 7-1 mark the season won’t be over, they’re just going to make it harder on themselves though I think there’s too many older guys to let this team go out without having another chance at it.

Fully agree. My belief is the majority have been unfairly hard on the results to date. Every loss or tie has been to a team that has a high probability of making the NCAA tournament.
That being said, the next 8 games are against opponents not in the aforementioned category of performance. Not catastrophic but anything more than 1-2 losses will be very disappointing. There are no gimmes in college hockey, the boys need to compete.
I am not one of the ones that has been hard on prior results, but stretches of 7-1 or 8-0 are pretty rare regardless of the competition.
I'll hop on that wagon too. This PARTICULAR stretch of 8 games, expecting 7-1 from this team isn't unreasonable. More to the point, anything less than 6-2 in this stretch would likely be disastrous to the Gophers for an at-large bid, absent coming out of that stretch and only losing a couple more games all year.

At Bob's weekly presser, he said he is breaking up the "best line" this week in order to get others going. So expect some new looks. The Nevers-Farm Kid-Brodzy line will stay in tact.

Gophers just need to take it to them for a full 3 periods each night and good things will happen.
Scoring the first goal is huge this weekend. Don’t give a struggling team any hope. If OSU gets down a couple they’ll subconsciously start to think “here we go again.”
