The transfer portal is stupid. There will be no more honoring commitments and guys moving because they *think* they won’t get the playing time they deserve.

I feel like some of you guys are just mad for the sake of being mad. The guy obviously has some inside info. For various reasons he needs/wants to keep it criptic. He was right on Cooley and despite many of you ignoring this because it was so "vague" literally something did happen similar to what he said would in less than 24 hours.
If you don't care to hear what he says, ignore him and skim right past the posts. But I amongst others will be waiting to see what other shoes might drop because they probably will.
Pretty disappointed to see Broz go. I thought he was really improving over the second half of the season and would have continued to grow with the team over the next few years. As many have said, for the player it makes sense and unfortunately that’s the way college athletics is going. But for the fans this sucks. Also, and I know I’m about to sound like old man who yells at clouds, but I really don’t like this mindset that if you have to work for minutes or whatever you want is not coming to you right away then you can just transfer to another team. One of the many things I loved about college athletics is that unless a guy left early or there was the occasional transfer the team was the team. You got to know guys for three or four years. Unfortunately I see college hockey eventually turning into basically just another junior hockey league. Again, this is just me ranting from a fan perspective. At the end of the day players have to do what’s best for them. This is the new world we live in. But this is what makes me appreciate a guy like Sorenson who didn’t leave until he was told there was no room. Worked for three years, fought for the minutes he got and played the role he was given.
I’ll leave it at this. Just like with Cooley, I would think most fans could figure this out. I’d bet Bonin could guess the majority of what I’m getting at. My reluctance to share is because it is very sensitive, as things could still change and it’s an EXTREMELY complex chain of events…which could lead to a “4th”negative. people will get wrong of the why I can guarantee that

I’m guessing that Broz, his advisors and the Pens figured he may not see top 6 minutes again this upcoming year and what is best for his development is finding a team where he can be a top 6 guy with potential PP time. I was hoping he would continue to grow like Travis Boyd did after his freshman year, but I wish him well. As far as Goldys Shuffle, IF his insight is true, we can connect the dots on who #2 and #3 are and if it affects #4. I’m more concerned about #4 than #2 & 3. I hope is all works out and there are not anymore surprises, but the name on the front is more important than the name on the back.

I have already expressed my appreciation for Sorenson plenty of times on here so I won’t do that again. But my hope is he gets back on the roster and plays his senior year with the mentality of proving everyone wrong and why he should be here.

I’m a little surprised that he’s not coming back to play with his brother (maybe that’s the next bit of news…?). Clearly people knew something behind the scenes about that one because I just assumed he was hurt as all the official press seemed to indicate.

I wouldn’t go that far. Broz leaving isn’t ideal but also isn’t the end of the world, you’re replacing a third liner essentially. Lucius leaving definitely hurts but I’m guessing that was expected by Bob and others. Idk what the last piece of news is but given the talent coming in I’m not sure I’d say the wheels are falling off.

I’d say the Broz loss will hurt more in the next few years. I think he’s gonna be a good player. We’d have Chaz Lucius at most one more year. I hate to see both go and I worry this means we also lose Cruz for next year, but the Gophers will be a top contender regardless.
Silver lining...........if Chaz Lucius was going to move on, better to see it happen now rather than right before the season starts.

We got Knies, Faber and LaCombe unexpectedly back. Our incoming class is lights out. Broz has a ton of potential, but would most likely be a 3rd liner this fall. Lucius didn't want to stay. Are they losses, sure, but I believe in tBob.
