Until one of his scoops turn out wrong, he is the most reliable source of inside info on this whole site (I know 1 for 1 is a small sample size but that’s still 100%). Respect the fact he would even give us a hint and respect the sensitivity of the info.

how is it info when we didn’t get any?

you’re too gullible.

He said this week. Transfer portal entry closes May 1. I’m sure if something happens it will be soon.

He never said it was transfer related.  And I understand the portal entry closes on May 1 and that he said this week.  I would hope if the bad things he thinks may happen don’t happen we’ll get an all clear message.  I really don’t want to be left wondering all offseason.

Hearing rumors that Kyle Rau has been granted a 5th year of eligibility. Expect him on campus this fall.

I think the feedback is justified. What value is being provided by saying a lot of negative news could potentially be on the way, but not providing details? All it has done is make people worry and potentially start bogus rumors. What if nothing ever happens? Are we supposed to wait for this bad news on pins and needles all offseason? Best to either provide all the details or just don’t share at all.

Bingo.

I realize this may not be a popular opinion with some GPLers…but (hypothetically) if Sammy Walker (3 time Captain) decided not to sign (now) with Tampa and wished to return for a 5th year bonus season, IMO tBob should grant that wish, despite it forcing him to push back an incoming recruit. I think Sammy has earned that…☝️

If we are "waiting to see what happens" that means they told us nothing.  Sorry but you are way to trusting of a poster who apparently got one scoop right.  I got a scoop right too once way back in the day it didn't make me a cool insider it meant I grew up with a couple people on the team and I was told the truth behind whether a player was leaving (he didn't but was assumed would) and the real reason why.  I also didn't dangle it as vague statements so that way if I was wrong I could say "I never said that was what I was hinting at" and cover my ass.  I said "I know for a fact said player is not leaving...I can't tell you why and I will admit it if I am wrong".  That is the difference between someone who is genuinely trying to convey and someone who is saying "hey look at me I got news but I won't tell you because I am super important!!"  No matter what GoldyShuffle can't be wrong...

How has he earned it more than other players over the years?  Because he plays hard?  I appreciate how hard he plays and his passion but its time for him to move on.

Maybe I'm just used to the 5 year players more so from football or basketball so it's not as big of a deal to me.  If Bob thinks he'll make the team better, then he should be on the team.

LaPanta's coming back.

Hakstol's the new assistant coach.

Close is leaving the team to travel to space.

Walker is coming back for a 5th year as a goalie.

If the team didn't have talent coming in I might agree.  I'm not in favor of risking our future do Sammy can pretend he is frosh for Mankato ?

A take I heard (today) from a plugged in Edina guy:

Word is -

Sammy is going to plan on attending multiple camps this summer on FA tryouts and earn a signing. TB actually passed on signing him (no room on roster even in minors)...was more of a reach pick for Yzerman and Brisebois contingent has 'moved on'...

Sammy's college career is in rear view. Tired of Raman noodles and scooter rides. But that's just the word - one phone call on any given day can prove otherwise. AND: Sammy is a rarity in Edina. Works for everything he gets. Comes from normal barely middle class family...zero silver spoons in the drawer. Polite, humble kid. Great with kids. He will be/would be great coach if ever pursued that in future. ☝️

Only reason Sammy would come back is if a body is needed. And if a body is needed for one year you could get Calder or Dornbach.

The question is how many bodies at forward might be needed if rumored news of whatever it is comes to fruition. Right now there are 15 forwards (excluding Walker, Mittelstadt). 15 is the minimum number you should carry so any losses in bodies need to be made up.

Not that surprising. He never really got it going consistently. He will end up very solid in year 3 and 4, though. That's a loss. He was a Scott Bell recruit I think?

GoldyShuffle's credibility continues and we wait for other news.

Edit: I think he was a Motzko staff recruit.

He saw Cooley, Snuggerud and Kurth coming in and decided that he didn't want to fight for 2nd line minutes and would rather automatically get them or top line minutes somewhere else. Sucks for us as a team, but in the current situation in the college athletic world it unfortunately makes sense.

Kurth is not guaranteed top 6. College experience can mean a lot over first year out of USHL. He should have been confident enough in himself to break into it. I only see Knies/Lucius/Cooley/Snuggerud as guaranteed top 6.

The reason I said "not that surprising" is that it felt his production and his line placements tapered off at the end of the year. Realistically, though it is surprising.

No. You do not make room for one extra year of Walker by giving up three years of a 2nd round pick.

Sure but I'm sure he and his "advisors" see Lucius, Hugelin,  Pitlick, and Kurth and probably Brodzy all as threats to his top 6 minutes which means as a 2nd round pick he would rather go someplace where it's easier to shine.

I mean...from his point of view I get it.  From a fan's point of view I don't like it, but in this new world of the portal, he's thinking all about getting his in a place where he won't need to battle as hard for it.    Will it be the right decision, only time will tell.

Yeah I’d rather they wouldn’t either but idk just trying to have some sort of rationale. Can’t believe it’s just minutes he was gonna get plenty plus pp time.

Not sure we'll ever know the rationale. But he's gone and that's it. If he goes and plays at Harvard with Miller or something like that, I wish him the best. If he goes to a rival, dead to me from a fan perspective.

Yes, he explicitly said he doesn't know about Johnson so there are clearly specific players he's heard about.

Nothing about Broz entering the portal affects anyone's credibility either positively or negatively.

Making a statement that "things are about to get interesting" when it's a few days from a filing deadline doesn't give anyone anything to evaluate credibility off of.  Neither does "I'm sure you'll misunderstand, but I can't talk about it because it's too sensitive"

Not saying that GoldyShuffle did or didn't know this ahead of time, because there's ZERO actual evidence either way to evaluate that kind of claim.

Good lord the internet has ruined people's ability to critically think...

BREAKING NEWS!!1!1! Tomorrow, someone will say something.  I will not say what it is, who it is or what it is about but you can probably guess if you really try!  Don't shoot the messenger, I am just saying what I heard abotu a thing from a person in a place that shall not be named

#DoesThatMakeMeCredibleToo

As for actual information it will be interesting to see where Brodz ends up.  I wish him well but wonder if this will ultimately backfire on him.

Whatever you say. Let's watch and see if other things happen like he said. He remains the highest credibility inside scoop poster on here at the moment with Hammy less active. Hammy also used to hold things under wraps but occasionally give hints that things were happening behind the scenes. Maybe less "click baity".

If he came in and said "things are gonna get exciting for us fans" I would still say he is a vague clickbait poster...because he is.  Just because he backs up your negative thoughts or someone else's positive thoughts changes nothing.  Credibility is earned by actually giving information.  He gave nothing so he has nothing. (like Steve said)

I am flying tomorrow.  If my girlfriend tells me "I think our flight is going to be interesting" and someone gets drunk on the plane that doesn't mean she knew anything, it just means she threw crap against the wall and it stuck.

What's sad is they are probably laughing because most of us are bored and talking about their lack of actually saying anything.

I mean the fact he “broke” the Cooley story weeks before it happened gives him more credibility than most on this bored. Then he literally went silent UNTIL yesterday when he said potentially negative news coming and then within 24 hours Broz enters the portal.

He/she said  "Not sure about Johnson, but there are potentially 3 big news items this week, none of them good I’m afraid.". That's A LOT room to back pedal if nothing happens or 1 or 2 things happen.  With no specific names and cryptic posts, it's just dangling a carrot and isn't creditable. My money is GoldyShuffle is getting second hand at best, but more likely third hand info and beyond, coming one here to stir the put.

So far he's one for one on verifiable predictions/statements.  That's the ultimate in small sample sizes.

Not saying he's wrong about anything else, because there's no way to verify "it's going to be interesting" or "there are potentially 3 big news items"

I'm guessing that Broz, his advisors and the Pens figured he may not see top 6 minutes again this upcoming year and what is best for his development is finding a team where he can be a top 6 guy with potential PP time. I was hoping he would continue to grow like Travis Boyd did after his freshman year, but I wish him well.

As far as Goldys Shuffle, IF his insight is true, we can connect the dots on who #2 and #3 are and if it affects #4. I'm more concerned about #4 than #2 & 3. I hope is all works out and there are not anymore surprises, but the name on the front is more important than the name on the back.
