Mentioned it in the cloud thread but Connor Kurth high ankle sprain, out for the season. Sucks but Brody Lamb is playing great hockey and the 4th line should hardly see the ice with all the media timeouts.
Thanks for the videos posted from Fargo! Didn’t sometimes have volume to get the full effect and the Hulu feed got dropped the last 30 seconds at the bar we had to be at because we don’t get(ESPN U’gh) and music trumped the game sound half the time. Looking forward to pregame at home traditions with full tv control and marching band cd!?loved the jumping around on the ice after the 3rd goal, good stuff right there!
The boys put up that weekend of performances with Knies less than 100% and we lost Kurth early and the officiating was what it was. Team should be better in a couple weeks. Pandolfo is going to have to find out if he can play Hutson for a full 60 minute game
4:00 start for a national semi-final game? Shirley, you must be joking? I will surely be watching that by myself. People have to work, kids have practice.
I actually like the early game. It allows me to get my photos in order and Chris & Vegoe to do their stories. Get things posted in a timely manner instead of late night.
Last night was perfect for that.

I planned ahead and already had the day off. Some MI friends were wondering why the late game for them, I'm guessing "more rest" for the top seed, although 3 hours, with a day off inbetween? Really?

Is BU dealing with any big injuries? Saw a clip from their social media team of a player in a sling...
They lost defenseman and assistant captain Case McCarthy during the Hockey East playoffs. He broke his collarbone after being hit into the boards. He was is more of a shut down defender.
I was recently informed by a GPLer that I'm related to Airey
If Michigan State and Notre Dame had also made the tourney. They almost did it could have been 4 BIG teams in one regional this year.
They likely would have put those two (as four seeds) in the Qunnipiac and DU regionals since they try to avoid first round interconference match ups. So still no more than two B1G teams in any region.

I suppose. I was just thinking of the children!
You're talking like the 10:00 sports guy when a big game gets done just as they're starting the newscast. They don't like that.

I get the annoyance of the 5pm ET start time as being less than ideal as a fan, but when it comes to playoff hockey, I always think playing the first game of a double is a pretty significant advantage.
If you're in the first game, you know you're going to have the puck drop when the clock strikes 5. If you're in the second game, and the first game goes into OT - or multiple OTs - the scheduled 8:30 gametime can become a 10pm or later puck drop and all you can do is sit in the locker room and wait.

I do my part. Also, I keep that downstairs fridge at 32 degrees and usually pull one out and put a second in the freezer. Warm Hamms isn't enjoyable, but the icy cold stuff......ahhhhh. Plus, it's a Minnesota original since 101 years before I was born.Rah!
Sounds like the USCHO staff is going to set up at Harpoon Harrys Crab Shack (a couple of blocks from Amalie Arena). Does Jupiter know where GPL is setting up?
*Just noticed the Toronto Maple Leafs (Knies) play at the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning the Mon/Tues after the National Championship.
Caught part of an interview with Brodz on KFAN today and he said that last year they weren’t “mentally ready” for the Mankato NCAA game but doesn’t think that will be an issue this year.

They have money. We do not.
I have no idea where we will do the podcast right now. I need to have good internet in order to do it. So much to think about.

I do not have Friday off. Tried, and failed. Too many people off.
Translation: I can’t summon an Uber on a flip phone. ???

I really tried to take the 4 day weekend. Was denied, and boss asked, "Since you can't have Fri off, do you still want Thu off?" "Yes I do, that's game day!" Boss laughed, and said, "You got it."

Red & Whites, Green & Whites and Blue & Whites except flip phones… 😉
Back in the day of Toby Keith's, I will say Jane Fonda, MNS, and I knew our cab drivers by name, had a card or two from them, also. They loved driving us there and back, b/c we actually tipped well.

Who was he on with?
I think it was one of those “Gopher Sports Update” things
If I remember correctly, programming for the '79 tournament was provided by the Public Broadcasting Service, the Children's Television Workshop and viewers like you...Thank you!
Watched highlights of Lane Hutson. Looks a lot like Cooley, but quicker and more selfish.
Will be interesting to see how Bob schemes him. I would put the Cooley/Knies/Snuggerud or even the Phitlick/Huglen/Lamb line over the Nelson/Nevers/Brodzinski line due to skating ability.
Pretty much everything has been said. Except the Gophers are going to curb stomp Boston and any other team that gets in their way. Now they just have to play the games. Go Gophers!

I don't get it. A Frozen Four game against the team that knocked you out the year before?

He doesn't think a lack of mental preparation will be an issue for this year's team as it was for last year's team when they played Mankato. What's not to get? He feels they will be mentally prepared for BU and Mich/QU in this year's Frozen Four.
So let’s see U of M vs Mich for championship and Gophers get #6
After hearing Fantilli say that no team can beat them on national TV, I am sure our guys will be more that up for that game.
I don't know if anyone cleared this up, but that isn't exactly what Fantilli said. He said something more to the effect of If we play the game we are capable of playing, no team can play with us.
To me it sounded like he thinks they don't always play to their potential, but when they do he doesn't feel any other team can match them. He may not be far off. But the Gophers have played them to three straight one goal games, so they can at least play at their level. It's a coin flip with those two teams. Hopefully we get to see a rematch!

And, admitting that there was a lack of mental preparation means they took a look at what happened to try to prevent it happening again this year, which is a good thing.

He’s saying why the hell were they not mentally prepared for Kato last year? I kinda thought the same thing after hearing that lol

Plenty of Gophers (including Paul Martin during the 2003 season) have said similar. People are way too up in arms over it the comment is rather tame.
I think it's legit to wonder why they wouldn't be mentally prepared for any FF game without it being a freak out. That said it doesn't matter now and all I care about is them being dialed in for 2023.
