My biggest gripe about Luca has been that he doesn't go out and steal a game, I will eat my crow on that one
Call a f$cking trip!!
Surprised they didn't phantom call Humphreys for a trip on that BADger wipeout.
Egregious non-call on Smith getting tripped. Clear as day. More blatant than UMass on Chesley back in 2025
Best. Tie. Ever...
Anyone who’s ever said LDP can’t steal one. I present this game. He deserved so much better tonight

This and Denver last year.
Dammit

He did give up 5 that night so always harder to justify those. He was lights out tonight
Well so much for my “maybe they only get up for big rivalry games” theory.
7 SOG in the 2nd, 3rd and OT is embarrassing, only surpassed in futility by their SO attempts.
Stole a point.
Slow as sh*t, weak ass turnovers, falling down, passing on the minimal scoring chances....anything else?
Clownoyer acting like he just pulled a Fleury in the '09 Cup final.
if BADgers fans knew anything about college hockey they would realize this is a pretty poor result for their #1 ranked team, objectively speaking
This game was disappointing for a number of reasons. Mainly how sloppy and disjointed we were and also how absolutely terrible the refs were at calling anything. I counted at least four blatant trips that just went completely uncalled. The clutching and grabbing was out of control. Kvas being called offsides as he’s being bear hugged by a Wisconsin player is crazy. Finally, having to sit through the last of the Penn State basketball game and missing most of the first period is just ridiculous.
BUT!!! There is a positive. We played this sloppy and still tied the number one team in the country. Shake it off, watch film tomorrow (that won’t be fun), and then play like you did two weeks ago for game two against Wisconsin.
Cool we tied, but man, when does the coach tell them to hustle? At every turn they were getting out-skated. I recognize a tie is a tie against the "#1" team, but it's time to bench some of these guys until they show more hustle.

They were out coached pretty handily this evening
first time I’ve felt that this year
I’ll take a tie/SOL. This game could have easily been 6-1 Badgers or worse. Then again, if the refs decide to call any one of the 6-7 blatant tripping or holding penalties that also could have changed the trajectory of the game. Not going to defend tonight’s performance but also hard to break out the puck or maintain offensive pressure through constant clutch and grab play that allows Wisconsin to generate turnovers.

It's odd because historically Larson definitely has Hastings' number. 4-1 record head to head, coming into tonight

Maybe the refs were just saving us from having to watch that PP

We got absolutely hammered on the break out tonight with wisco folding right into our lanes as the game went on and we had no adjustment. Led to the third period chips and the drastically lower chances in the 3rd, but way too tired of legs to get our ground game back up after running all 2nd period. Felt like I was watching us against Q all over again
lots of young kids on this team not used to that pressure. Staff needs to keep it simple but help them succeed for Saturday
I completely disagree they were out-hustled. This felt like more of a mental mismatch than one of effort, combined with some of the most abysmal passing I've seen in a long time.
Coyle really needs to give the B1G head of hockey officiating a piece of his mind. Should've years ago. I truly believe no other team in the league gets screwed as much as we do by this constant piss-poor reffing and discipline.
And I'm not saying that financial incentives should matter, but its esp. ridiculous seeing as we are the only B1G hockey program that's worth a damn as far as drawing viewers and putting fans in seats.

Effort is always the simple answer that is almost never the right one

This is where I’m at too. Very far from perfect tonight, didn’t match Wisco’s adjustments mid-game and we played through some brutal reffing. But we got away with the tie, if Wyatt gets some air under his attempt maybe end up stealing the SO too. Got a day to watch it back and a chance to win the weekend Saturday

One possibility is that Larson may have overcooked / overcoached them in preparing for this matchup. his best SCSU teams that did well against Kato all had very mature, veteran, deep rosters with reliable offensive firepower up front.
To that point. Now we're 9 games in, I wonder if this is the longest stretch that we've failed to score 6+ in a game to start the season.
1-1 ties really do not excite me. No matter who they're against.

Bingo! BADGERS simply played faster tonight. But Gopher goalie stole the show!
