1st part done. Made it to the hotel in the Cities before the early morning departure. Maybe part of it is because we missed the last 2 FF's because of covid, but my wife and I are really excited for this trip. Can't wait to land in Boston tomorrow and head over to the Gophers Fan Get-together.

WE HAVE ALL WE NEED :M: :M2:

There is just a certain feeling about making a FF... It's been so long I had forgotten but I'd definitely say the feeling definitely tops a regular season conference title.

2012: Senior year of college, too poor to go to Tampa and maybe lucky to not spend everything to go cuz Gophers got butts kicked (0 wins in FF)

2014: Philly, super fun trip and experienced a top moment in Gopher history. Kinda got butts kicked on Saturday. (1 win in FF)

2022: It's time to make it two wins in a FF...

You probably don’t remember the Michigan games in 2002 and 2003 then huh?

I have shared this on here before but I went to college in Madison. Never watched a Gopher game when I was there unless it was on TV in Madison. I couldn’t afford to go to the games or I was always working. I call those years the “dark years” Moved back to MN in 2001 and boy, what a welcome home those next 2 seasons were! I don’t know that I have ever experienced the jubilation of 2002, the win against Michigan and then that damn Maine game….will never forget where I was, how I reacted and the flood of emotions that flooded over me. I tear up to this day thinking about it. The Michigan games, after Mike Effen Legg was SO DAMN SWEET!!

I was a wee tot back during 02/03 but i distinctly remember kicking New Hampshire's ass in the title game. That was fun, watched it at my grandparents house. I also remember watching the Maine game with my mom, uncle, and cousins, and the house erupting after Koalska's goal. Did it again about a half hour later when Grant scored. So. Much. Fun. Cannot wait to experience that feeling again. :dup: :dup:

Ok, will be wearing my GPL hat, brought my 100th season jersey with the #20, and we're sitting in Loge 12 on the aisle (seats 19 and 20 of the last row). Hope to see you there!

Sorta read back, general rule for hotels is they can book 50 weeks in advance. I would recommend that.

When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.

A would give a slight edge to the Gopher fans at MSP this morning. Also, a few Gopher hockey parents heading east today as well. :M: :M2:

Similar right now. Probably hard to book a cattle drive on a plane. ?

I optimistically packed sunglasses. ?

On a Delta flight now direct to Boston.

Of the hockey fans, 80% are Gopher fans. Maybe 2-3 purple moocows, and far too many Nodakers for my liking. Of course 1 is too many for my liking too.

The prop job from assholeville must have just chugged into MSP as there are far more pukes in the waiting area.

As Rube pointed out, there's a reason they have fans everywhere... what's worth staying there for?

Yup, same flight lol! We were joking about “volunteering” some ND when they were asking for someone to take the later flight. Let’s just say not a single hockey fan stepped forward.

Heading to the Black Rose for drinks and din-din.

Note: Due to inflation dirty deeds will no longer be done dirt cheap.

So is there any information on attending the Hobey ceremony? There’s no info on their website other then saying it will be streamed live. Can people attend?

Last time in Boston it was at Faniel Hall, but there’s nothing listed.

We all must have been on the same flight. If Delta to Boston direct this afternoon.

We didn’t get into our room until after 6pm so didn’t head up to the pep rally. I assume it’s similar to the events they do before bowl games. We’ve been to the last two of those.

Heading out for dinner soon.

After the 2015 semifinal I had to rush out to catch the T so i could get on the last commuter rail train of the night to Mansfield. I get on and see Motzko sitting there and say hi to him. I'm wearing a Gopher jersey and I think my 2002 National Championship hat. A few minutes later as I'm about to get off the train I look over to tBob and finally noticed Lucia sitting next to him.

I felt like quite the idiot.

I have been to close to 20 Frozen Fours now. I have never had as much fun as we had tonight on the Weds eve before the Semi Final games. Met a few GPLers tonight and it was a moment that will live in Frozen Four memories for a long time.

I really struggle watching games with other people. My son is similar to me but when people are chatting around me I don’t pay attention. I am not sure I can go until after the game is over.

One of the side effects of having 4 Western teams in a Frozen Four out East is that every team has fans flying on Southwest through Chicago Midway. On my flight, by far the most passengers wearing fan gear were Gophers, but there were a bunch of fans of MSUM (who were on the same flight from MSP), Michigan, and Denver.

At least one player's family was on the flight as was a surprising large group of girlfriends. For some reason, I imagined they would have flown out the same day as the team.
