And the defensive corps. As Frank said, some pretty “egregious” turnovers tonight. ASU had 3 goals on just 6 shots in the second. That’s ugly.

I don’t know about ALL CAPS awful but very uneven. Especially tonight, we cranked it up when we needed to but let down with the lead multiple times. Still think Barto needs to be getting more opportunities and maybe not saying we have the best D core on the country for a while here.

Jess may be the worst post game interviewer. Needs to know when to try to be funny and when he asked Bob a question about adding ASU to the B1G, Bob walked off. Jess then mumbled that he was just having fun. Not the right time Jess.

Got home just in time to watch them biff the overtime. Not seeing any of the game, I can only shake my head in disbelief that this team gave up 6 goals to an unranked team. That's just a case of not working hard enough for it. Not an impressive weekend at all.
do we get to see Staudacher next series? it would send a good message to the d core that if you play substandard your roster spot isnt guaranteed.

Yeah kinda hard to tell with the camera work and lack of replay but he definitely got outplayed tonight. The gophers were the better team and deserved better but their goalie just stole more saves. That’s not to say they weren’t sloppy at times with some big mistakes (Thomas).Brutal night for Close

I think there’s some advantage to doing this seeing as they’re similarly skilled from what I can tell and one will have fresh legs. Come playoff time when you get a day of rest in between you can play the hot hand 2x. I don’t think Close playing today was a bad decision (Barto was great both games last weekend) but I agree with splitting them more unless a clear winner emerges.

agreed. Solidify the pairs with the guys who are earning it. If you want to wait until after the Christmas break, fine. But way too many mistakes on the back end for what should be a strength for this team

There are a couple D who have played some important minutes for the Gophers in the past few years that haven't seen the ice this year... After tonight I'd be pretty ok with Staudacher or Fish finding their way into the rotation.
Defense and goaltending were optional tonight. Gophers were so wasteful attacking. Don’t think they would of hit a soccer goal on some of those shots.
Annoying loss in OT but they will still be fine.
Well, @vegoe called a split, so lets blame him. The Gophers shot themselves in the foot tonight. Way to loosey goosey on defense and it's obvious that Close can not stop any breakaways, so let's make sure those don't happen. A winnable game that they gave away.

What’s wrong with that question? tBob seems like a drama queen when it comes to questions from Jess. He’s a public employee making more than 99% of the public, you may have to answer questions you don’t like.
That said I didn’t see it so maybe the delivery was poor? There has to be some history between these 2 right? Maybe Bob isn’t used to being questioned by the media ever coming from St.Cloud?

Personally I don’t think they need to make any big changes in terms of D personnel, they just need to play smarter. With all the D they have and all they lose next year I assume Fish and Staudechar are red shirting and there’s no reason to burn it. That said going from 7 to 6 might not be a bad idea, idk we’ll see I’m sure Motzko can figure it out.
