Did Snuggerud or Knies get that second one? Also good for Cooley to pot that empty netter hopefully that gets things going.
Knives got the tip just before it crossed the line.
That’s what I thought. CHN app said Snuggerud but they’ve lost about all credibility in recent years.
Knies stole that goal from Snuggy. Apparently he didn't want to fall three back of the team goal scoring lead. ? ?
It's now 8 to 7 rather than 9 to 6.

The CHN website now shows it as a Knies goal so they updated it too.
Did Bob talk about the (almost) five minute major on Cal Thomas (I think it was him) in his postgame?

Great weekend. Notre Dame played hard tonight. Glad Faber is okay, that was scary.
Cooley had a great weekend, let’s hope this gets him rolling.
Did Bob talk about the (almost) five minute major on Cal Thomas (I think it was him) in his postgame?
No, he didn’t. And you are correct, it was Cal.
I am curious to why that one wasn’t called… looked just like what Cooley did against UND.

On the radio post game that wasn't brought up. They did talk a lot about Cooley with coach saying he is getting better. That the lack of goals is a case of a young very talented player dealing with going up against older players but like an airplane flying through clouds he will come out of this and it will be sunshine. That he will better for it.
Excellent to get the sweep after 3 sweepable weekends that didn't quite work out that way.
Don't know if Notre Dame is that bad, but we looked more than prepared for them all weekend, especially on defense. I felt bad for Close for losing the shutout bid late last night on a goal he had no chance on, but fortunately for him, he got it tonight.
PP looked bad all weekend. It could be a season-long project with our youth, but at least we were able to convert on the 2ADV last night and the major tonight.

Current Gopher #2 is reminding me more and more of MN's past Hobey winner wearing #3.

Good, solid weekend from the Gophers. Nice to see Cooley get the empty netter, and I hope that will take some of the pressure off him. I did notice he did a punting/kicking celly by the Gophers bench. His teammates acted like it was his 1st goal of the year. They also know what that goal meant to him.
I am somewhat surprised that the refs didn't blow the whistle after Faber got his high hit. He was obviously woozy from the hit. Equally surprised that he was cleared so soon thereafter to play. Bob said he passed the tests right after and they again checked him between periods.
Brinkman also got a lot of hugs from his former teammates and the coaching staff including a huge bear hug from tBob.
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
Few day after thoughts:
-Huglen and Pitlick are so snakebit. Hope they break out soon, I think they are both playing well
-didn’t expect nearly this much from Luke Mittlestadt. Very talented player
-Our first PP unit looks good. The others.. WOOF. We need a ton of practice.. why not try Faber on that 2nd unit? It can’t be any worse than what we have going so far.
On the power play it’s simply a matter of having too many horses in my opinion. In a perfect world I’d love to have Chesley on the power play with his shot but then you’d have to sideline a player who’s also worthy of power play time.

Been saying this since the Lindenwood series to start the season. Almost wonder if they should go to 3 power play units.
Keep your stick on the ice...
A very dominating performance this weekend. This was the most impressive weekend, I have seen the Gophers play, dating back to the 2003 team.
I thought the penalty kill looked a lot better but the PP obviously still needs some work. The first unit was pretty good last night but the other two leave much to be desired. I think once we have the PP clicking and some more scoring from other lines this team will be unstoppable. Still need to get Cooley, Huglen, Pitlick and Brodzinski going. We’re already looking good and there’s another gear or two I know we can reach once we get those guys, as well as others, really banging in the goals on a consistent basis. I have loved how much Nevers and Nelson have stepped up. Saw it again this weekend. The top line looked great. The D corps smothered anything and everything. Let’s build on this and continue to grow. Next weekend will be exciting with a whole different kind of game against a very different team than the past two weeks. Let’s get some crowds in the building and have some fun! Go Gophers!!
