Gameday.
We gotta wait all the way til 8PM…?…ugh
9pm here in Jacksonville. Trying to find things to do to kill time until puck drop. Might hit the links or something.
Tonight’s odds:
Minnesota ML -175
Michigan ML +135

9 a.m. Sunday start for me and the boss wants to go out for breakfast 🤔

Gotta get out of that one.
“Hey boss, yeah breakfast sounds like it would have been great but my gophs have a big tilt against Michigan and it’s can’t miss. So yeah, why don’t you just put it in an email and I’ll look it over before Monday.”

I didn't know slap shot is dating his boss. 😆
Sorry if asked earlier but the band will be there tonight yes?
Will Mariucci be an Olympic size rink tonight?

Let’s get after them tonight boys! Don’t give those ugly helmet wearing hosers any hope!
Student section is basically already full.
Let's go Gophers!
Crud, Michigan up 1-0
Possible second Mich goal called off due to offsides after review. Very close but I think they got the call right.

was well offsides with some extra paint.
On the first, Close really gotta shore up the rebound control.
With about a minute left in the period two Gophers were chasing after a loose puck behind a MI defender right at the MI blueline. At first look I wonder how there wasn't a hold called as he grabbed and held at least one of them. I don't have the ability to rewind so no idea if it was egregious as it looked.
Great start then momentum seemed to change after the goal. Certainly looks like we’ll finish as the 8 seed with a loss so this game has gotten all the more massive. Get the feet going for the second

could’ve been called interference but not overly much there
Whole team looks awful to start the 2nd.
This is really frustrating. I really thought they were getting better as the second half of the season went on but since the bye week they’ve looked off more often than on.
Just let them whack at Close multiple times and do nothing. Cool.
Close continuing to bail them out after the one gaffe. Have to find him one guys
Pitlick and Snuggy are starting to border on unplayable in the defensive end
Winning a face off one in a while would help.
Michigan dominated us that period. Very frustrating to watch. We were lucky to only give up 1 in the 2nd.
Outeverythinged by Michigan through 2. Looks like Michigan is scrimmaging a JV team right now
That period was pretty much a repeat of the 2nd period last Saturday against Penn St. Regardless of the outcome tonight it sure doesn't look like this team is peaking at the right time.
I think it's time to face reality. Snuggerud is already playing like he has signed a contract. If I was Bob, I would have benched his ass for the last 5-10 mins of the second period.
Michigan has dominated 34 of the 40 minutes of play. They have no answer for Michigan's apparent new found love of defense and lack of taking penalties.
Bottom line, they are a team that won't make it out of the first weekend of NCAA play. In the end, it's all good since they really outplayed their level of talent this year given the losses they had from a player perspective. Losing in the first round or quarterfinal's is really no shame for this year.
I hope they can prove me wrong and I will mea culpa if they do, but...
Put the criticism line back together. Because neither line is doing anything so we might as well go back to what we know can work.
Vegoe really called it. For all of the faults that Michigan has, they seem to somehow get rid of all of them when they play the Gophers in the playoffs. They are just plain and simple the better team tonight.
No matter how this ends, you’re seeing why you don’t change the line combos the week before the season ends imo
I can certainly hear a beeping sound as the NCAAs are coming.
A third f$cking year in a row we lose to these clowns in the B1G playoffs on our own ice 🤦🏼 and once again our biggest players go quiet when we needed them most.
We can only hope 2 weeks of thinking about that turd will motivate them
Loss has impact. We fall from 6 to 8 in PWR. Means we likely have to play through a Boston team to get back to St. Paul.
I am really trying to not make an incredibly emotionally charged negative comment, but that was a terrible terrible effort. I think 5 shots in the second period? The captains did nothing. The “skilled” players did nothing. The old players did nothing. The faceoff differential was absolutely disgusting. To make a positive part, the Huglen line had some hustle to them and I really thought they would get one. But icky icky game
@billy-brewigbeer I feel like we’ve said that a lot this season. Thought the PSU turd with luck may do so.
Honestly, I don’t think this team cares about this tourney and I don’t think they ever have. Look how often we win the conference as compared to the Conf. Tourney.
Statistically it's much easier to win 4 in a row. Rest up and win it all in St. Paul
There is no more room for error. Hope we figure some things out in the next two weeks. Tonight was poopy all around.
Brutal effort by the team.
Trying to recall the last time a Gopher player has quit on his team like 81 has.
On the bright side, Close played great.
Okposo?Brutal effort by the team.
