According to the Mankato Police, "It's believed this is part of a nationwide swatting incidence occurring in multiple states, which has been confirmed by the FBI".  So, I would think that this is now on the radar of the FBI that the investigation is in the hands of people who should now how to look into it better than local police and county sheriff's.

@g-manpuck

Yeah having the FBI getting involved will get you in more hot water then the local police and sheriff depts.  One thing I learned from being on a federal grand jury for a year, several years ago.  Once thing cross state lines, it becomes federal and whole lot more issues.

AFC Game on MPLS network: KC vs IND. Um....that's gonna be a blowout.

Not on the air: BUF vs MIA: 2 undefeated teams, division rivals, and you're NOT showing that? What in the eff is wrong with you?! I know contracts, but pay the money to fix it, whatever!

When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.

There must be some super secret NFL logarithmic formula that places us in the "they must cheer for KC" region.

FYI if your VM message does not identify you by name a debt collector cannot leave a message for you and if they do you have a case for a suit, and in MN I am pretty sure they cannot leave a message for you on your work# VM (should you have one) no matter what.

My daughter’s varsity sport coach.  I’ll leave it at that, just needed to say it somewhere as I try to professionally navigate a situation with my family and school.

I watched a Netflix doc on swatting. People do it to individuals as a revenge play, people have gotten shot, it’s an issue.

A pretty large Call of Duty streamer (she averages 4,000+ viewers a day) has been the target of a bunch of cheating accusations over the last few months. She got swatted a month or so ago by one of these "hacker hunter" groups.

Fortunately for her, one of the officers who was called to the scene was a Call of Duty player and recognized who she is so tensions were diffused pretty early. Was pretty surreal seeing some of the clips on Twitter though.

You beat me to it. Was going to mention this also... what a bizarre story. Sounds like everyone knew these two were cheaters for years and they finally caught them in the act.

The fist story video popped into my FB feed yesterday or Sunday, that is about as brazen as you can get.

Given how amped up the rest of the competitors were after the "WE GOT WEIGHTS!!" announcement its amazing those two numbnuts didn't leave in an ambulance.  From what I've read there been a lot of suspicion at recent tourneys and one of them was recently arrested for poaching so these are not good dudes.  Also read they were later arrested but not sure on what charges.

Gotta give the organizers credit, they were working to defuse the situation and telling people to stay back, not to touch them, etc.

We'll probably never really know how many times they cheated. Though almost guarantee this wasn't their first time.  Just if you cheat once, you'll probably cheat again. And then it becomes a habit of greed.

Trying to sell things on CL, FB Marketplace, etc...  What a complete waste of time.  I cleaned out my basement & garage this past weekend.  Thought it would be nice to try to make a little cash on some items that probably have a little value instead of just throwing stuff away.  People are so wishy-washy about if they want stuff or not.  Or they want to meet 5 days later (yeah... no.  I want it gone now).  Or meet a half-hour away at 9am on a weekday for a $15 item.  Forget it.  Into the garbage it goes.

When we were cleaning out some things in the house before family showed up for my daughters wedding we put some stuff up on FB Marketplace.  I can totally agree with this.  We weren't trying to sell junk for gold prices, just some stuff we didn't need or use anymore for cheap.  I had people wanting to meet halfway between the Cities and Mankato for a $15 item...hell no!  It's nothing more than an online garage sale, people want it for free and then have it delivered.

It all depends on what you're selling. This spring, my brothers and I replaced the overhead door in my parent's shed. My mom advertised the old door on FB for $150, and it sold in less than a day. Then she advertised their old ATV, and an old outboard motor that had been on their pontoon. She got asking price on all three items, and none of them took more than 5 days to sell.

I used to sell on Craig's list and had very good success rate.  But then it got weird.  I tried to sell a trailer bike and had tons of offers, but then people just wouldn't show up.  And I started getting several people send messages that they were overseas but wanted the item and ask if they could have someone pick up the item and they would send me money..... No.  Some people must fall for that.  Form that moment on, each sale attempt was the same.  People not showing up and offers from people who wanted to send money after the item was picked up.

Now it all goes on the street with a free sign or in the garbage.

I've been lucky... I guess. I've sold well into the 100's on CL, Markplace and eBay. And bought well over a 1,000 items.  I think my eBay feedback is over 1,300 now. Though Marketplace, comes and goes.  Some items, I'll get lots of interest and no follow up.  A couple of no shows, but the stuff still sells eventually.

My best return was on a lot of about a dozen hockey pucks I bought.  I bought them individually for $0.99. And they were going for $35 to $50 individually before s/h on eBay.

My best friend form high school has a good eye for finding stuff at garage sales and second hand stores. He finds stuff that are worth well more than the asking price.  He's found several things for a couple dollars and sold them up to or over $100.

Pet peeve football rules:

1) Half the distance to the goal line - I rather see the penalty is walked off regardless up to the one yard line.

2) Too many players on the field - I would like to see it, if the defensive player is hustling and 3-5 steps of the sideline (between the numbers and sideline) not to be called.

3) PI - 15 yards regardless.

Voice text...

Saturday at church I texted my sister and family to sit with us at church. They said they were going to sit elsewhere. I intended to reply...

"Buck up. It's your niece that wants to see you"

Instead...

"F*** off in car. It's your niece that wants to see you"

And out of all places... church... LOL!!!

They are not. BUT, once ID'd, they got a good ass-whuppin' (literally or figuratively) from the parents. Discipline.

We’re not boomers, we were just raised by them - so we know what being raised with rules and discipline was like. ?

And no, bullying is not a new problem, but bullying is a much bigger problem now due to social media.

I was bullied as a kid and it didn't stop until I finally stood up for myself.  I didn't have to get in a fist fight to stand up, I just confronted my bully verbally and he did nothing.  I spent the better part of two years dealing with this guy and it affected much of my everyday school day life.  He had a broken home with absent parents which let him and his brother pretty much do what ever they wanted.

Much is the same with my son's bully and like @Cowgirl alluded to social media has a big part in what is happening.  The disconnect of not having to physically be in front of your target only makes bullying easier and more widespread since most kids have a social media presence.  My son only has Snapchat but he still sees some of the shit this bully says about him because others share it to him.

Like I said...kids are such little a-holes!

That's for sure!
I recently encountered a situation where several teenagers were beating up an adult. I intervened, shook them off, and other people intervened as well. Children can afford things that adults can't, because they are not accountable to the law in most cases.

The drive up to Duluth and the North Shore is always enjoyable. The drive back is always a bear. All the 612'ers flocking back to the Cities. And way tooooooo many drive in the left lane and won't get over. Both 35W north and south should be 3 lanes between the Cities and Duluth.

You realize you’re a part of the crowd flocking back, even as a 952-er …;)

My parents live a couple hours north up 35.  It’s always a shit show driving home on a Sunday when we go up to visit.

Anyone and everyone who lives in the metro is a 612'er in the 612 reference.  And yes I'm part of the flock. Though anyone who has ever driven with me (WPoS or Viking) knows I'm not in the left lane on a "Sunday afternoon" cruise.  I pretty much consistently drive 8-15 mph over the speed limit depending on when and where I'm at.

Things are pretty bad around here when I find myself agreeing with the Duluth fan...

From personal experience, yes, this is true.  Can't remember for sure if it goes back to 82 or not, but certainly by 85 or so this was the case, and I see no reason to think it wasn't the same then as well.

It’s been  that way on Sunday afternoons Gator since…ohh, I don’t know, maybe … 1982 ? Undefined

I've been going to Duluth off and on since '94 when I move to Minnesota. And if it's been problem since "maybe...  '82" all more reasons 35W should be 3 lanes both ways between Duluth and the Cities.  And I'm sure summers (cabin season) are dbl. as bad as late fall thru early spring when I've always made my way up to Duluth.

Keep your stick on the ice...

@greyeagle

110% agree.  When I did property management for over 20 years, if I had problem I just expensed it and fixed it. Now that I'm a homeowner and have to pay for stuff out of my own wallet. I'm not as fast on the draw to pay for it and fix it.

The thing is, it's really only that bad on Sundays or when they're doing construction.  Anything other than Sunday afternoon/evening, there's generally no problem.  You don't scope a highway like that for the absolute peak of traffic, you scope it to be able to handle the normal load, which 2 lanes is more than capable of.

B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
