Had plans to start liquidating some assets here and transfer portions to the U.S., only to notice the $ grew exponentially stronger vs. the PHP in just the past few weeks.

My 401K is down 18% YTD.  I won't need the $$ for 15 years anyway but it still sucks to see.

The rampant overuse of Teams / Zoom meetings. Not every issue needs to be addressed this way. Since the pandemic it has gotten out of control, things that were once just handled via phone or e-mail now seems to require a virtual meeting. The last couple of weeks if I had accepted every invite to one of these it would take up about 75% of my work day.

Being unable to extend my next trip home to MN long enough to see a Gophers FB or hockey game.  I think the FB team hosts MSU the week after I leave.

On the positive I should be able to see Duran Duran, Bauhaus and if things work out Roger Waters in Kansas City.

Im asking this here because there’s no really another good topic for it.  Every since the new switch of the GPL server I’ve had never ending issues with the site, for example:
1) It will not keep me signed in even if I click on the button.  I have to sign in every time.
2) Its not correctly updating.  Example: today in General topics the top one I see is Trivia, updated on July 9.  But when I click on that topic the last post is from the 6th.  I see that several people have posted today in Restaurants, but that is half way down the list last updated on the 3rd.
3)It often won’t let me post.  Says “too many redirects”.  I have to delete my bookmark and totally re-find GPL.
I’ve cleared my cache-cookies.  I’ve shut off my iPad and restarted.  I’ve deleted and re-saved the site.  Nothing seems to fix it.  Has anyone else had these issues? Any additional advise is appreciated.  Craig has no idea what’s happening so I’m opening this up for advice.  The sign in thing is mildly vexing, but the other two problems are hugely annoying!

What have I got? I got no snacks and I got no respect.

Once in a while I've had to re-login on my laptop, but it's just a matter of checking the box saying "Keep Me Logged In." I have the portal on a bookmark.

We just had a police chase down our street.  Windy road with lots of people out walking.  Several house parties so cars are lining the road.  The chase ended with a crash at the end of our road, about 6 bourses down.  Thank God for the berm at the dead end.  LOL.

Thankfully there are no dead kid because many were out and the chase was flowing about 60 mph

I mentioned I’ve done both those things.  I’ve checked “keep me logged in”, it doesn’t work.  I have to re-log in EVERY time.

I have GPL bookmarked too.  That doesn’t help my 2 other problems.  I’ve deleted it and re-saved, still is wonky.  I tried to post this earlier and once again got the “too many redirects”.  So again, deleted and re-saved the site.  It’s getting more then annoying because I can’t figure out why this is happening.  I understand why Jup changed the format, but since then I’ve had problems.  Has no one else had issues?  Because if not it’s me, but I don’t know what or how to fix it.  Thx.

I’ve had issue #1 frequently on my iPad and iPhone but not to the point where I have to login every time.  I use Chrome on both and I assume it’s something in the browser but I’m too lazy to spend time figuring that out

i don’t have the other issues on either of my iOS devices so I can’t help with those

I have a 4 oz plastic tub of CBD pain cream. Every morning when I unscrew the lid, a bunch of the cream will be stuck to the lid. I scrape it off and put it back in the tub. Next morning I have to do it again. The tub is only 1/3 full now so the cream has to climb up to the lid over night. How can this be?

Stop storing it on its lid.

Delivery services that can't figure things out.... Amazon's estimates used to be so reliable but now it seems like they change them after my order fairly often.

Also in the last 2 months have had a Fedex delivery be late because of the reason "Customer not available" even though it was not package that would require the customer to be home AND not to mention we were home when they said we weren't available.  Then the package showed up the next day.

Then recently we had a UPS package that said it was delivered around 4pm (got the confirmation email), but the package was not delivered (we were home, have 2 Ring cameras on the front of house so we'd know if an attempt to deliver had been made).  Then we end up getting the package that same night at 9:20pm!!!  Who knew UPS delivered that late.  We were a little concerned though because when UPS sends the email that it was delivered and then you don't have the package the fear is that the seller will just say "too bad, UPS says it was delivered".

I recently had a work package that was delayed because 'Business closed'.  Obviously it isn't.

Coming back to work after a week off, and having 136 e-mails in my inbox.  What's the point of going on vacation when you have 5x the work when you get back?  Any refresh and re-charge I got out of it is instantly gone.

I just went through that same thing. It’s always the conundrum of do I pick away at them while on vacay? Or come back to a deluge of emails.   I chose the latter this summer.  I’ve typically checked work email daily when I’m gone to avoid the pile up, but badly needed to disconnect completely for a bit.  But it made for a couple long days on my return.  What can you do.  In part it’s the price we pay for the digital world we are in.  People have access to us 24-7.

My family was given tickets to a Vikings preseason game last year.  We went to the game but due to unforeseen circumstances we had to leave after just the 1st quarter.  My older son was crushed to leave as he had been looking forward to a game.  My kids had never been to a Vikings game.  I promised that I would make it up to him.

I am following through on that promise and just bought tickets to the game vs the Bears.  I am not a cheap ass but these prices are ridiculous.  I paid for 2 seats in the 200 level.  The fees and taxes alone were $150.

The NFL is outta control.

Face value for tickets ain’t cheap but I’m guessing the fees are from stubhub or one of those sites?

That’s mainly due to those sites basically having a monopoly on tickets due to a lack of regulation than anything. They basically just have bots/employees buy up all tickets for popular events and then sell them at marked up prices. Maybe the NFL could do something about it but the issue extends to concerts and other sports etc.

Yep. There was an Eric Church concert a couple years ago (Target Center, IIRC) and found face value ticket for $20 or so. Sweet. Get to checkout: $45. The fees were more than the actual ticket. I said F that, just on principle. Didn't go. I know I missed out, but f'real, I would not go against my stance on outrageous fees.

@trixr4kids Interestingly the tickets were all priced the same across Seat Geek and Stub Hub.  And neither site would provide the actual seat number, just the section and row and a guarantee that the seats would be together.  They had the same seat availability in the same sections.  I assume those companies are working together.  The Seat Geek fees were higher than the Stub Hub fees for the same section and row.

Ticket Master seats were more costly across the board.  But they had more seats in more sections than the other two companies.  I could pick my actual seat on Ticket Master.  The seats in the same section and row on Stub Hub/Seat Geek were $169 ea.  On Ticket Master I could pick aisle seats, but they were $219.  Although I want aisle seats, I am not going to pay an extra $100 for them.  So I bought through Stub Hub and ended up with seats 3,4.

My strategy changed as I considered similar priced seats in a larger 100 level section.  I didn't want to be in the middle of a 40 seat wide row while I get up multiple times to get beer, use the bathroom, or get food for my 14 y.o. kid.  Since I didn't know if I'd get seats 14,15 or 1,2 I stuck with the smaller section in 200 level.

I think I'd prefer having paper tickets and taking my chances with scalpers on the corner.  My kid would learn a thing or two from that process.

Concert tickets have been getting out of control for years. I saw that the highest priced tickets for Zac Brown at the Mn State Fair was $194. We loved to go to concerts and have really cooled from going with most tickets around $100 now. Now we try to hit some up and comers to keep the cost down.

I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.

@bertogliat yeah I originally thought all those companies were owned by the same parent company but I could be wrong. Either way they all buy up all the tickets and charge exorbitant fees so it doesn’t really matter, the result is still the same for us.

It’s getting that way with bills too.  Just got my trash bill for the next 3 months.  The cost of the service is $79 and after taxes and fees it’s $177.

What's the size of your bin?  I just asked my dad and he pays $57 for 3 months (including recycling fees) here in Deephaven.  He does have a mid-size bin but $79 a month seems outrageous.

How in the world has my Waste Management bill been so good? it has been $40.46 every 3 months for years. My GF that lives across the river in Belle Plaine has a bill more than double mine and it's not WM either. WM is about 3x in that town. So I am not sure what makes my town so good.

I have 64gal trash & recycle.

All of you complaining should have tried to buy Springsteen tickets...I was part of the pre-sale (AMEX) and due to the stupid surge pricing even with verified buyers (no bots or spam it had to be an individual with a max number to buy) the prices got inflated 200-300% before fees and even a public sale.  I saw Springsteen for free years ago when I worked at the X I am not paying $500 bucks for upper deck tickets.  Hell I pay less than that for top end shows in Vegas.  Hell I have season tickets to Hennepin Theater Trust and they barely cost that much!

I justify overspending all the time, but not to the level that exists now.  I would rather pay way less and see a comedian or touring Broadway show and enjoy myself more.

Trying to find a used bike rack similar to the pic.  One you would find at school or a park.  Last summer when I wasn't ready to buy one, I could find them all the time on market place or craigslist.  Now that I have room for one, I can't find one... LoL!!!

Marketplace - Bike rack | Facebook

I do search fb marketplace.  Just the style I'm looking for seems not to be available as they were last year.  That's why it's a thing that sticks in my craw. Along with while searching 99% of the bike racks are for vehicles.

Back to vending after nearly a 2-year hiatus at USB.  Not a fan of cashless system and the credit card pax machines.  Though in the long run tips might be better, cause most fans tap the 10% or 15% option. I vended the pre-season game and the game this afternoon. Have to vend 2 or 3 more games and compare the numbers to the last 20 plus.

My windows are open for the free air conditioning.  Please douse your bonfire.

I feel that way about cigarettes when I’m driving.  I rarely use my ac and almost always have the windows down.

Really I feel that way about cigarettes all the time.  Why can’t we just ban them period?

The real answer against banning cigs? Too much tax money being brought in. I will say no more than that, to obey the rules on this board.

As for outside flammable activities, it's outside, I say free will. It is outside, the most ventilated environment. Inside? Nope.

I think the complaint is that no one is enjoying the fire, but they've just let it smolder and smoke. That is annoying. If you're out there with friends/family having a good time, fine. When you are going to go in for the night, put it out.

Definitely put it out. 10x over. That's just safety, you need to make sure that fire is out.

Had all the windows open from almost the minute I got up to just before going to bed. The full house feels it’s got a refreshing to it.

As for putting out and dousing fires. I guess it’s the Smokey Bear (yes Smokey Bear, he’s not Smokey the Bear) in me. Leaving no trace.

It was a dirty acrid smelling fire.  I doubt it was a group of people burning wood.  More likely garbage or branches or other crappy wood.

I love the smell of a bon fire but this was choking me in my house.  And it was 10 pm on Sun night.

Could there have been a structure fire in your area?  Nasty smelling smoke....

Last summer: Update kitchen including new appliances which are delivered over the course of about 6-8 months because of logistical issues

This summer: 2 of the 3 appliances crap out (Bosch dishwasher and GE Fridge) and a pipe in our kitchen gets a nice hole in it when trying to fix a massive blockage

3 days later GE sends out a tech who orders the parts to be delivered

4 days after that: Dishwasher fixed

2 days after that plumbing fixed

3 days after that tech shows up to install the parts to fix our very expensive fridge that came in February...and they sent the wrong parts.  Now we have to wait another week...meanwhile we have to put everything in my mini fridge downstairs meaning we have nothing in the house really.

@handyman Our house is 12 years old.  We moved in about 6 years ago and we are on our THIRD fridge.  We have Home Service Plus so in between those new refrigerators, we've had repairs.  We are not buying cheap refrigerators.  We are buying refrigerators with the best ratings and avoiding brands that appliance repairman warn us to avoid.  Our most recent fridge cost about $4,000 and we were lucky to get it during the pandemic.  But a few months after we installed it, the ice maker died.  It was eventually determined to be a mother board.  With the microchip shortage it took nine months to get a new mother board.  Everything appears to be working....for now.

That said, when we moved into this house we bought a cheap ass scratch and dent apartment fridge for our garage for about $500....  This is a fridge we use to keep beer and other drinks cold.  Never an issue despite sitting in 110+F heat in the summer and 40F temps in the winter.  LOL.  And it has been a lifesaver to have that fridge as our expensive versions die and we need temporary storage.

Yeah...we were originally going to keep the old fridge because it was still working (it was too small for our needs and didn't match the update) but did not have space in the garage or a place to put it in the basement that made sense.  I regret that now.  Funny that thing never failed but our $3500 top of the line one couldn't last 6 friggin months.

It is very hard to stick to a healthy eating plan when you literally can't even keep groceries in your house...
