Awesome news Gator!!My dad had a 2nd bout of prostrate cancer. His first was nearly 15 years ago. He was diagnosed again this last fall and after several sessions of radiation and other treatments, last week his lab results came back cancer free!!!
That is great news. I had it last year. Since then I've talked to 5 guys who were treated for it and had it come back 3-5 years later. It never gives up.Awesome news Gator!!My dad had a 2nd bout of prostrate cancer. His first was nearly 15 years ago. My dad is going to 74 in October and was told the second time it’s treatable, not curable. I asked him what the Dr. said his life expectancy is if his numbers come back 0. He said up to 15 years. I asked what the Dr. said if his numbers were still high… the Dr. said up to 15 years.

That's an impressive collection.
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
If anyone remembers the tragedy of the murder of Ed Thomas of Parkersburg, Iowa by a former player. Fox Sports and Tom Rinaldi came out with a podcast about the life and death of Thomas. The first two episodes came out today and as someone who remembers Thomas and his dominant high school teams, that spurned four NFL players from a town of 2,000 people, this hits close to home. Hearing from Thomas's family and also the family of person responsible for Thomas's murder it gave me goosebumps. I believe that there will be a total of six half hour episodes, I can't wait for the next two to come out. Give the podcast a listen if you remember anything about Ed Thomas.

Much better than watching the Gopher game, congratulations Iowa.

41st trip around the sun with my beautiful wife. The last couple years have been horrifying at times for our family, but we've clung to each other and battled through. I can't think of anyone else I'd rather have at my side and in my heart.
Thank you, Stanislav Yevgrafovich Petrov. 41 years ago today, you saved all of humanity.

Thank you for the info, I was not aware. Mrs. GE & I watched the documentary (On Prime FreeVee) this evening.
We are all fortunate Stanislav was playing chess while everyone else was played checkers.

For Lt Colonel Petrov, he only decided not to pass word up the chain of the supposed "launch." He didn't have any authority/ability/etc to actually launch a weapon himself, only give information to those who did. If you want REALLY scary, look up Vasili Arkhipov.Thank you, Stanislav Yevgrafovich Petrov. 41 years ago today, you saved all of humanity.

I have read a little about him on the advice of a cousin who was a career sub officer.

In the last few weeks my son and two of his good buddies got their driver’s license. What a game changer. Can’t believe how different our life is.
I pray they’re safe. But they’re off having fun. Going to the away FB game today. Life is great for them and I don’t miss driving constantly.
I would have never looked at that and guessed it was supposed to be a hockey player. 😂
I looked last night and this afternoon for an image of the Gopher Hockey player and no success. I brought it up and tagged @thinkbui cause he’s a Lego guy. And the image popped up on my fb feed as a Gopher fan Lego person.
Sorry, was gone the entire offseason.
No, that's not me. Outside of commissions, I don't make things to sell. I have made specific players in the past, but only for families of Gopher Hockey alums.
The Gopher Hockey figures that have been sold in stores in the past are actually a smaller brand called OYO Sports. I haven't seen them for awhile and don't know if they're still making them.

My wife and I started the Dave Ramsey (Ramsey Solutions) plan for the last 6 weeks. His program and baby steps is very helpful and resourceful in helping us pay off what little debt we have. And plan to pay off our mortgage faster as well as planning for the future.
I know there’s some nay sayers to his plan, but my wife and I find his plan very helpful and resourceful. Our church bought every family that attends a plan. And I’ve heard all positives from others who have followed the plan or are like us still taking the steps.

Good for you. I applaud anyone who strives to be debt free, no matter which method gets them there. We have been debt free for decades including our house. We use credit cards, but use them to our advantage. We have 3 credit cards and a debit card, and use each card where we can gain the most points or cash back. It drives my wife crazy at times because the rewards change on each card so some months we use card X for gas, card Y for groceries and card Z for everything else and then it changes the next month. We pay off each card every month. We have done this on modest incomes (I am a small time farmer and my wife has worked in retail her entire life). We want retire in the next 4-5 years and we are on our way to accomplish that. Good luck to you guys.
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
Judging from the ref's reaction he also go a ten minute misconduct.

I work PT at a higher end independent liquor store. Younger hipster comes in, the Elvis sideburns, cigarette behind the ear, etc. With a straight face (he was indeed serious) asked if we carried any Colt 40s.
It was all I could do to not burst out in laughter. Made my day.
Note: we don't.

We used to. And they didn't sell. Sure do sell Fireball though, mostly airplane bottles to the tweakers (we're also next to a Dollar Store, so.....go figure) 😉

What’s the newest fad with bottles of Fireball?

I’m sure @the-rube could write a chapter for my book of interesting characters. I’ll always joke I could write a book, all true stories of working health (26 years), beer vending (nearly 20) and my apartment management days (23 years).

20 100ml bottle bucket, which works out to $1/bottle, whereas normally it's $1.99 for 100ml. Halloween seasonal release.

I don’t think it’s a new fad. I have seen mini bottles of Fireball on the ground anywhere college kids have been for the last 20 years. It’s probably cheap and therefore more affordable.🤷♀️

Agree. This isn’t a new thing. They’ve been strewn about parks in a few different neighborhoods I’ve lived in over the last couple decades. Some great, some leas great.
When I was saying new fad… I was referring to a new thing people do with something other than its purpose to get more high or drunk.

This: when the NHL had the Outdoor Classic we had a ton of people asking for the smallest plastic bottles of (insert liquor) we had, and were buying them half dozen at a time.

Late Nov, pre metal scanners I would pack beers in my Carhartts for Gopher fb games.

I may or may not have once brought a full size bottle of rum in my backpack to some final five games at the X so we could mix our own drinks back before they sold booze for college games…😆😬

Had a great weekend in Duluth/North Shore with my wife. We went up the North Shore seeing a lot of things we haven't taken the time to look at before; Pebble Beach below Split Rock Lighthouse, Black Beach, Palisade Head, Illgen Falls, and Temperance River Falls. The weather couldn't have been more perfect to see all these natural sights. As always we make it a point to stop at Duluth Cider and Hoops Brewing for our favorite brews. Wish we could have seen more boats but we did see two 1000 thousand footers though if we stayed yesterday afternoon there were four boats that came into Duluth. Overall it was a great weekend.

Where did you stay?
Canal Park Lodge, it is expensive to stay in Canal Park but we enjoy it for the location next to the canal to watch ships come in. We are looking to stay somewhere further up on the North Shore the next time we go up but haven't decided where on the NS.
After this weekend my wife and I made the decision that our next trip north to the Lake Superior area will be to the Houghton, Michigan area. Whenever we start to plan that out I will be sure to hit up some of GPL's more experienced Keweenaw Peninsula vacationers for tips on where to go.

May I suggest Cove Point Lodge in Beaver Bay, Mn. It’s about 50 miles north of Duluth. We’ve stayed there several times and enjoy it. Quiet, rustic, Norwegian atmosphere. It’s right on the lake, so you can hear the waves crashing all night. If you follow them on fb or their website. They always have deals, especially in the offseason. Pay 2 nights, get 1 night half off, pay 3 nights and get a night free.

There are so many good ones on the North Shore. Lucky to have that so close to us.
