I sent a text to my brother last night that read “made the mistake of reading the FB comments from on the Mariucci changes. People are idiots.” It was what you would expect. Someone complaining about the WCHA, some saying the Olympic Sheet is our advantage, and some just trying to bad mouth the team no matter what chance they get.

I see you brought logic to the argument, silly planet.

I also made this mistake. Wow, that was a tough read. The ignorance of the comments... people just complaining to complain.
I couldn’t resist throwing a little shade their way last night, either.
I'm for the NHL going to the Olympic sheet, but I know it'll never happen. IMO, the NHL is to big and fast for the current size of 200x85. Going to the 200x100 would open up the NHL game. After seeing the NHL'ers at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia and seeing a faster game, was pretty cool.

You could change that to "related to anything on earth" it's entertaining. I always chuckle on days like Valentines Day when people have to profess their love and show off what they got from their loved one on Facebook. My wife and I have been married for 25 years, and we each begrudgingly give each other a card and that is it. No flowers, no fancy dinner. Yesterday we went to our accountant and had brats for supper. ?

Ohhhhhhh good ole Valentine’s Day!!! The one day a I’m suppose to be duked into buying flowers, candies, gifts and maybe even a dinner to show the luv of my life, Melinda, I love her. What about the other 364 days a year?Valentine’s Day is a gimmick, brought to you by the Hallmark’s, floral shops, restaurants and retail/gift shops saying “buy, spend, buy” to show your love.I LUV YOU… Melinda!!! 365 days a year, not just on Valentine’s Day!!!

Flowers good, buy more! ?
My wife has worked for Bachman's for almost 40 years, she works in their treasury office but spent Thu-Fri helping make arrangements and all day Monday helping load trucks. It was all hands on deck for them, unless you are in a customer facing role they had you helping with deliveries regardless of your job or level. This includes members of the family (including some family who are retired or who don't work for the company) and all levels of executives and managers.
We had pizza last night, she was exhausted!

That reminds me of the years I worked retail. By Christmas I was burnt out and exhausted, all I wanted was take out food in my pajamas. It never happened.

Some crazy stints, I've done over the years...
1) Worked the week of Valentine's in 1997 while in college one year. A buddy of mine got a couple of us to come to the floral shop he worked at in downtown Mpls. It was crazy non stop running through the skyways, up and down elevators delivering flowers.
2) Did a stint in 2004-2005 (I think) between my fulltime job, the Depot ice rink and working Wild games from Dec. 1st to Feb. 13th. 750 hrs. in 75 days... never again!!!
Keep your stick on the ice...
I worked at UPS for a few years and put in so much OT between mid-November and the first week of January it would make your head spin.
UPS was heavily unionized and as a manager I wasn't supposed to even breathe on a package, but during those weeks even the union folks turned a blind eye because of the volumes.
One year we had to come in the day of Thanksgiving even though we were supposed to be closed down. Because it caused most of us to have to skip on family gatherings, the site director invited a bunch of us to his house in BP and served a spread that almost made it all worth it. As a salaried employee we did not get paid OT.
Other than a stint at Mother Mining from the mid 80's to the early 90's, my wife has been in the floral industry since we were teenagers working at Signal Hills in West St. Paul. She worked at numerous family shops in St. Paul, Woodbury and West St. Paul over the years and now runs the entire floral operation in our store by herself. Valentine's Day has always been insane; Mother's Day can be hectic, but Valentine's Day stands alone. I've helped out with a lot of delivering over the decades and it's run, run, run. She is most pleased that today is February 15th!
That reminds me of the years I worked retail. By Christmas I was burnt out and exhausted, all I wanted was take out food in my pajamas. It never happened.
Mother's Day and Valentine's are the biggies for her. Couple that Mother's Day is in the spring when they are at their absolute busiest (they are a Garden Center) her schedule in April-May-into June is crazy. When she does retire I suggested we go on a vacation May and she picks the location. Win-win!
I send flowers for St. Patrick's Day, by far the most important holiday of the year!

I picked up Semlor Buns today at Fika in the Swedish Institute. Hubby loves them and they’re only available for about 6 weeks. I’m bound and determined to learn how to make these so we can indulge in them more often.

Why you gotta be such a blowhard? ??
Do you not celebrate Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Veterans Day, etc. because they are gimmicks too? Have a heart! It’s a day to make your loved one feel extra extra special.
That being said we didn’t even exchange cards this year. ?
LoL!!!
Serious I've never really celebrated Mother's Day or Father's Day. I'll call and talk to my folks. Though they themselves don't want me spending money on them. Outside of Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, the 4th and birthdays/anniversaries. The only other day I partake in is Memorial Day. I've always tried to make it to Fort Snelling or a Memorial Day service. I take my niece and nephew or my 3 kids to help with American flags at the graves. Or people we know, we'll put coins on their headstones.

I got my wife flowers and she appreciated it. It's not that complicated.
Too each their own, right?!?!?!
Yeah I agree but that wasn't really the message being received from a few previous posts if we're being honest. ?

Lets just say I’m getting a lot of spousal pressure to start baking these myself ?
The Swedish Institute stops making them next Tuesday. Fat Tuesday is the big blowout.

No no, big mistake! Order them off Fika website. It’s easy and you can choose your pick up time for guaranteed buns. You can order just one or two, no minimum. You have to prepay but they’ll have them set aside for you.
Eat immediately, they’re not good keepers.

Not sure where to put this, so I will throw it here. Really doesn't affect me, as I'm not much of a gambler except when I plant my crops every spring. Also, not sure what this will do to Canterbury.

Wow... I might lose my bet. I said legalized marijuana would get pushed through before sports gambling. I had marijuana by 2024 and sports betting 2026.

Does it only count when it passes, or when it goes into effect? Looking at how things have been going, it seems like both could pass this session.Wow... I might lose my bet. I said legalized marijuana would get pushed through before sports gambling. I had marijuana by 2024 and sports betting 2026.

Weed was easier to pass, but now that the tribes signed off it's all over but the shouting on gambling.
BBothered long overdue.

Haha. Reminds me of this beauty:
Lloyd Christmas:
I'll bet you twenty dollars I can get you gambling before the day is out!
Harry Dunne:
No!
Lloyd Christmas:
I'll give you three to one odds.
Harry Dunne:
No.
Lloyd Christmas:
Five to one.
Harry Dunne:
No.

Ten to one?
Harry Dunne:
You're on!

I'm gonna get ya!

Nu uh!

I don't know how but I'm gonna get ya.
