@frozen4champs One of my neighbor's friends was a victim. I didn't ask details, and she didn't offer any, as to the condition (so to speak) of her friend, but 🙁

it will be interesting to see what comes out as authorities determine what he did earlier in the day and his previous stops. To have BAL that high and be alive indicates a chronic problem. Depending on circumstances if he was at other places earlier they could be on the hook for legal action.

Gram alcohol laws and TIPS alcohol training I go through every so many years for vending alcohol at the stadiums.
I'm sure @the-rube does the same with his side gig.

I have no official training, really. Given his past history, and current "functionality" in this incident, I am guessing he is a functioning alcoholic. His lawyers' initial statements, paraphrasing, "He hasn't been in trouble with the law unless it involves alcohol, and he doesn't have a problem." Yeah, I kinda think he does.
As for IDing, I look at height, weight, eye color, little things on the ID. Don't bother with the address. Check body-build, and flat-out ask "are you 21?" Stings cannot lie, from what I've been told. I've had some doozie excuses for no ID "I forgot my ID at college" on the first day of Spring Break. Ok, yeah, sorry, you're not getting booze.
Also have had a person buy 2 pints and leave (presumably to the strip mall bathroom) in 2 hours, 2 separate transactions. Not selling you a 3rd pint, person. No way.

When I worked at Tonka Bottle Shop there was a guy that come in to buy a 12-pack of Natty Light and (iirc) a fifth of Karkov every day. He used to drive but got a DUI, he then would ride a bike and got another DUI on that, and so he was then reduced to walking.
He was at one point after that caught trying to shoplift in TBS and was banned from the store. If you know the area at the time it was the only LQ for miles. This was before the Wine Shop opened nearby, and before MGM that is now open near Cub at 7 and 101.
So I have no idea where would go after that to get his fix. Walk all the way to Wayzata Wine & Spirits? Or way down Minnetonka Blvd towards I can't even think how far he had to go. Addiction is a bitch.

I would not count on the sting subjects telling the truth. I had a buddy who was a cop in a larger city. He was part of several prostitution stings when he was early in his career. One of the cops in the car with a hooker was letting her play with his dingy and he let it go too far... made a mess. My buddy was dying laughing at his coworker as he told me the story. I was in shock over the story. I asked if he could get in trouble for letting her touch him and he said it was fairly common and no issue.
I don't think lying is going to cross any lines.
Anyone tried Wells Roadside yet in SLP? I never want to the prior place (and obviously can't visit Wells) so I can't compare the before and after.

Not yet, but it must be better than Galaxy.

Wingstop in Apple Valley is now open adding to the list of fast food chicken restaurants within 1/2 of each other…
KFC
Caines
Daves Hot Chicken
BWs
Popeyes
Chick-fil-a

I hardly ever go to a restaurant until it’s been open for a couple weeks. Wingstop is beyond controlled chaos right now. Personally if I was the GM of a new restaurant. I wouldn’t take phone orders, just walk-ins or online. And be very open about the waits for the door dash clowns.

Was told it was going to be a 40 minute wait turned out to be an hour. It was a quick hr. being entertained watching people watching coming, going and waiting. Got home 5 minutes into the game.

Same thing happened with Dave's Chicken near Ridgedale. First week, block-long line, and now, no wait. Never ate there, from what I hear it's over priced. Brasa Chicken is around the same price (I HAVE eaten there, and yeah, the food is awesome).

Agree… Dave’s in AV was a good 3 weeks of 10 plus cars at all time. I tried Dave’s in Omaha prior to the one in AV. It’s good, but not great. Though their coleslaw is off the charts good.
So many restaurants are becoming the sheeple effect. It’s great cause the flock says so. It’s the same with beer.

from the Pioneer Press today:
"The Wuollet Bakery location on Grand Avenue has closed.
The building “is in desperate need of repairs,” owner Eric Shogren said in a statement confirming the closure, and the company is looking for a new space on Grand Avenue. Shogren purchased the local bakery chain, which started in the 1940s in Minneapolis, from the Wuollet family in 2019.
A neighboring business, the gift shop GoodThings, plans to expand into the former Wuollet space, according to a spokesperson for the bakery company.
The bakery was known as the Bungalow Bake Shop until the Wuollet family took it over in 1977."
As mentioned here months ago, this location has been in very sad shape for the last few years. It used to be a great place to get bread and pastries, but then the Wuollet family sold the store.
Did not know they sold it but now makes perfect sense why I felt their quality had gone down
That guy has purchased a number of beloved local bakeries, many (all?) of which have had significant complaints about the quality... Really sad actually.

Some people are turn-around experts, this guy excels at running placed into the ground.

Why can't slimy people buy and run crummy businesses into the ground instead of previously beneficial local establishments?
Because crummy businesses are crummy. Flippers run on the name for a bit, and then sell.

@the-rube Who is going to buy those businesses at a higher price? Flipping at a loss usually is not a long term successful strategy.
They make their short term money, due to business reputation, then sell when a loss is even sniffed at.
