Mankato just won in OT.
I swear no team has more horseshoes up their arse than Kato
Playing against that competition would make Wisconsin look like a title contender.

Well Grant you pissed that one away. God I hate Kato.
Looks like CC’s chances for a Cinderella run are ending.
Fargo, North Dakota
#1 Minnesota vs. #16 Canisius
#6 St. Cloud vs. #11 Mankato
Manchester, New Hampshire
#4 Denver vs. #13 Cornell
#5 Boston University vs. #12 Western Michigan
Bridgeport, Connecticut
#2 Quinnipiac vs. #14 Merrimack
#7 Harvard vs. #9 Ohio State
Allentown, Pennsylvania
#3 Michigan vs. #15 Colgate
#8 Penn State vs. #10 Michigan Tech
#9 Ohio State and #10 Michigan Tech were swapped to avoid a #8 Penn State/#9 Ohio first round conference match up.
#14 Merrimack and #15 Colgate were swapped to avoid a #2 Quinnipiac/#15 Colgate first round conference match up.
Quinnipiac being only 25 miles from Bridgeport is why I put Michigan in Allentown, PA.
St. Cloud/Mankato could be moved to Bridgeport and replaced with Harvard/Ohio State but I think the committee might keep Harvard/Ohio State out east.
There are 7 or 8 eastern teams depending on how you look at Penn State and this has them evenly disturbed to help with attendance.
I bet the upper classman on the Gophers would love a shot at Mankato this year.
Don’t see that happening. I guess we’ll find out tomorrow ?♂️
I think having Sue fans watch the Minnesota Invitational Tournament in their back yard would be funny. I am curious how many Sue fans would show up for that.
If KRACH was used Notre Dame & Michigan State would be in while Cornell & Merrimack would be out.

Why would they put SCSU there over Harvard? The regional is sold out.

In order to keep Harvard and Ohio State out east. I can see it going either way.
If it happens the Minnesota Invitational Tournament in Fargo would be fun.
In the Pairwise for women's D1 hockey they changed to using NPI (NCAA Percentage Index) which is between RPI & KRACH and it sounds like the men might be doing something similar soon.
Yes I realize men's Pairwise used RPI for this season so that is what matters I was just pointing out the difference.
I will be very interested to see how the brackets shake out. I could see the Gophers getting Harvard and Ohio State instead of St Cloud and Mankato.
If the Uscho bracketology holds,
Fargo, N.D.
1 Minnesota vs. 16 Canisius
6 St. Cloud vs.9 Ohio State
Bridgeport, Conn.
2 Quinnipiac vs. 14 Merrimack
7 Harvard vs. 11 Minnesota State
Allentown, Pa.
3 Michigan vs. 15 Colgate
8 Penn State vs. 10 Michigan Tech
Manchester, N.H.
4 Denver vs. 13 Cornell
5 Boston University vs. 12 Western Michigan
IMO, Michigan got the best regional draw and Quinnipiac got second best. With all the contingencies, it's tough to make it "right".
I wonder how possible a Colgate upset is. Beating Quinnipiac and Harvard is no joke. Michigan better not count their chickens.
I feel like OSU and Canisius will be locked in to Fargo.
we’ll see between SCSU and Harvard.
just my guess. Bring on anybody. Will be an interesting decision though.
Excited for the selection show. Seems like the committee could go a handful of ways with this. Certainly changed my room from a couple of nights ago.
Between the 2 seeds St. Cloud/Harvard and the 3 seeds OSU/Kato, I could see any possible combination happening. Although I do think the Cloud/Kato semifinal is too tantalizing for the committee to pass up.
Obviously I would love for the Gophers to have the easiest path to Tampa. That said, after the top 5 teams, you can pretty much interchange the rest of the #2's and #3's. Just as well beat whomever is in your way, no matter what seed they are.
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
Who is on the selection committee this year?
Aloha!
- East Region (Hockey East): Jeffrey Schulman, University of Vermont athletic director (chair)
- East Region (Atlantic Hockey): Rich Gotkin, Mercyhurst head coach
- East Region (ECAC): Tim Troville, Harvard senior associate athletic director
- West Region (NCHC): Scott Sandelin, Minnesota Duluth head coach
- West Region (CCHA): Bob Daniels, Ferris State head coach
- West Region (Big Ten): Josh Richelew, Michigan sport administrator
They showed the teams on selection show and Minnesota isn’t there (yet).
And there it is, Minnesota/Canisius and SCSU/Mankato in Fargo.
Looks like Gophers get the late game (unsurprising, with the day off)
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
Making sure we can’t have an all big ten or mostly Minnesota frozen four. ?
They seem scared of the west.

The bracket came out last night in the above post. ?
Oh no both the talking heads picked us we’re fucked
Yeah, way to put a target on us.Oh no both the talking heads picked us we’re fucked
Not like it's a surprise that they said so. Who else in the field would they pick? Most of us are here saying that the tournament is the Gophers' to lose, why would the talking heads think otherwise?

Um…cause the 3 seed beat us at home last night?
More likely, they recognized that the Gophers played a very sub-par (for them) game last night, and don't expect that to happen again. Not like it's a surprise that they said so. Sometimes it a no win situation. If they pick us, that is a target. If they don't pick us, we are being disrespected.

And almost won both games at Mariucci in the only games Michigan was healthy for. I think Michigan had 3-1 lead in both 3rd periods. Not like it's a surprise that they said so. Michigan seems to have the Gophers number this year. The Gophers can beat them. All the games have been competitive. But head to head the favorite has to be Michigan.
Here are the Draftkings Odds for the games Thursday and Friday:

Mich Tech on those odds seems like a nice bet. Especially against a team that hasn't played in almost 3 weeks and has won 4 games since the new year.
5 seed BU’s path to a natty: Western, Denver, Minnesota, Michigan. Gauntlet.

I love the bracket Jup! Feel free to advance Michigan to the Frozen Four now, if you'd like. PSU as the 2 seed is a joke since they're 4-11 since Jan 1. Yikes that is a breeze of a region.
Tech barely squeaked out a pair of 1 goal wins vs #49 St Thomas a few weeks ago and lost their last game to Northern 0-4 at home.

It is using the same software as I use on GPL for Gopher scores, schedule, standings and whatnot. So all games are linked so you can click on them for more info for times, TV and whatnot.

I was at the Cow game on Saturday and MSU was a dead team walking until those late penalties by Northern. Being on a 5x3 PK for 1:20 and getting stuck in your zone gassed the Cats. I think G-money even said that the team was gassed after killing those penalties. Anyway, Northern played a more defensive game to keep the Cows out of it. They blocked a lot of shots that their goalie didn't have to worry about. To me the Cows are far from threat they have been the last three probably four years. Bring them and Jan on!

One thing I do not like... The bracket in mobile. It doesn't render very well. But brackets are not easy with a vertical screen like a phone.

-4 on the year… what a keep!
He did score 20 goals though.

He’s a solid player. If he had more skill around him he’d score a lot more than that. ND was weak offensively not much talent around him.

One thing to keep in mind is that they assign a minus for any goals that get scored against you in an empty net situation. So top 6 players stuck on bad teams tend to lead the league in the minus category.
