They can clinch a share if MSU comes out on top in OT or the shootout.
Lieu Queues wins it with one Holl left in OT.
I’m probably late to the party but Nazar is back for Michigan. And he scored
Nazar is going to fit right in with Fantilli and the rest of the DB Wolverines. This is his celebration after he scored tonight.

They are so easy to dislike! Talented, and a bunch of showboaters.
We were just debating - a win in OT is only two points?

Yes. 3-3 OT gives one point to each team. Dumb.
Magic # is 2. Need 2 points to win outright.
When OT was five on five, it was three points I believe.

Can’t wait for USCHO to drop us to 12 on Monday. I know they’re licking their lips.

Anyone else not really want MSU to win tonight. I want the boys to earn their championship.
They seem above celebrating this trophy so yeah I hope they have to win to earn it.
It is certainly much more desirable to make a statement by crossing the finish line with a win than having somebody else move the finish line for you.

Sort of. When it was 5x5, OT win was 2 points, because there were only 2 points per game (so an OT win was just considered a win). If nobody scored in OT, each team got 1 point. When OT was five on five, it was three points I believe.

So Gophers lose to
Baddddgers and still stay #1 in pairwise rankings?
Aloha!
They had a big lead in the RPI. It’s still possible that they would be in 1st if they lose the first game next weekend. Q play Yale next week. Yale is 58th in the pairwise. (Boy—they are lucky that the adjust the RPI so beating a bad team doesn’t affect the RPI.). Gophers are playing #6. Michigan is (likely) too far back to catch MN.So Gophers lose to

When was the last time both und and umd missed the postseason? Shaping up like it’s a tournament title or just for both

Gophers drop to 2nd as expected. Notre Dame re enters the poll, and Alaska exits. All of the other teams remain in the top 20 but changing spots.

Wow! Awesome!!!
If I were Rohlik, not sure Madison sounds as appealing if tO$U is going to build the Buckeyes a new arena.
BC upset BU in the 3rd place game of the Bean Pot. BU drops a couple of spots in the pairwise.

No one in NCAA hockey wants Northeastern to get hot. Not with Levi in net. Good news is that RIT lost a pair last weekend so it looks like the #1 overall seed will play the Atlantic winner and not a nightmare Northeastern 16 seed. More motivation for the team to keep the 1 seed.

Yeah I don’t think it’s stressed enough how important it is to get the #1 overall seed for this exact reason.

Michigan up 3-1 in the 2nd on Ohio State
Through 2 periods Ohio State has out shot Michigan 25-8 but Michigan leads 3-2.
3-3 now mid 3rd.
30-13 SOG edge to Buckeyes
OT tied at 3.
Clinching Number down to 1
With the game going to overtime the Gophers have clinched at least a tie for the Big Ten title.
Michigan losing in overtime or the shoot out clinches the out right Big Ten title for the Gophers.
Michigan gets dominated all game getting out shot 40-17 (10-3, 15-5, 13-7, 2-2) and loses the shoot out.

I get preferring to play the Atlantic winner but since RIT is currently 20th in the Pairwise there are many teams behind them that could get in as a conference champion from another conference and end up as the 16th seed for the NCAA. It only takes one team below RIT to get in and make RIT the 15th seed (and play the #2 team) if they win the Atlantic tournament.
This is why I never fear playing Michigan...soft when games matter.

It is definitely a possibility.
But, what are the realistic odds that RIT wins their conference tournament? I’d say there is a pretty good chance one of the other Atlantic teams (AIC, Holy Cross, etc) wins it and then they become the 16th seed.
AIC! AIC! AIC! Would love them to make the tourney again.

Yes theoretically but then I look at who realistically could win their conference tournament and also is worse than 20 and the list is pretty small. Pretty much all Hockey East teams that aren’t BU and Northeastern. That conference is a jumble. Toss Duluth into that conversation, they always seem to get hot this time of year.
Different team, though. 😉Bob wouldn’t. Too soon Husky fans?

Which is the more fun scenario: North Dakota runs the table and makes it as a 16 seed only to get slaughtered in their own back yard by the 1 seed Gophers.
Or
Holy Cross wins the Atlantic tournament, gets sent to Fargo with the Gophers and gets pounded in front of thousands of sad Nodak fans
Can Holy Cross an NoDak meet, and HC wins? I choose that. That would be fun.
