kinda pissed the guy jumped and blocked Davis’s late attempt at the EN. Would’ve loved a goalie goal to seal powers watching from home once again

As of right now, it looks like they are safe. PWR predictor has them at 97% of getting in.
I think they'd only be out if the Sueage won their tourney right? ECAC, Atlantic, and CCHA get an autobid (unless it's St Thomas I think? IDK how that works).Qpac has dropped 0.0001 behind PSU for 12th and are currently on the hot seat
Maine off to a good start, please keep it going 👍
Michigan's season ending because Quinnipiac gives up a tying goal (and loses in OT) while on the power play in the late two minutes of regulation after Cornell takes a penalty with 1:50 left. 😲 Cornell scores 11 seconds after the faceoff in their defensive zone to start the Quinnipiac power play.
If the Gophers' season ended this way we would be talking about how unlucky we are as Minnesota sports fans. This kind of thing happens to other teams/fans too.
I bet it is hard to find anybody on this message board feeling that bad for the Wolverines.
Michigan the Losers of the West!!!!! 😀
If North Dakota loses in the NCHC tournament Quinnipiac and Penn State get the last two spots.
If North Dakota wins the NCHC tournament one of Quinnipiac/Penn State gets eliminated.
It looks like Quinnipiac is rooting for Maine in the Hockey East championship game (tonight) and Cornell in the ECAC championship game (tomorrow night). The reason for this is Quinnipiac played Maine twice in non conference games while only playing U Conn once. They played Cornell four times while playing Clarkson/Dartmouth only twice each.
It looks like Penn State is rooting for Ohio State in the Big Ten champion game (tomorrow night) since they played Ohio State five times and Michigan State only four times.
Right now
Penn State RPI .5516
Quinnipac RPI .5515
St Thomas can't play in the tourney if they win though right? In which case does CCHA just not have a team in the tourney? Or do the cows just get in no matter who wins that game?If North Dakota loses in the NCHC tournament Quinnipiac and Penn State get the last two spots.

Kato in no matter what
As @upnorthkid mentioned Mankato is in as the CCHA auto bid whether they win the CCHA championship game or not.
I believe this is because St. Thomas isn't eligible to play in the NCAA tournament (due to being relatively new to Division 1) so if they win the CCHA tournament the auto bid goes to who won the regular season title which was Mankato.
@viking probably know if this is right or if Mankato would get the auto bid due to being the runner up in the conference tournament.
Either way Mankato is the CCHA auto bid.

Regular season title winner wouldn't matter. It's a moot point, but the rules state that if St. Thomas won the CCHA playoff championship, the autobid would go to the CCHA playoff runner up.
Butters has it right
bump 1-0, man he has turned into a hell of a player
Maine up 3-0 3:23 left in the 2nd
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
Sewage tied it up on the PP, 1-1.
He's poking the bear with that shot after the whistle 😆Butters has it right

That doesn’t look great for bump
@upnorthkid wasn’t he an Edina kid that transferred there last year from somewhere?
Prior Lake kid who had a huge HS tourney and then went to Vermont, then transferred like you said.@upnorthkid wasn’t he an Edina kid that transferred there last year from somewhere?

Lol, I think tv read my mind too. I diid remember a huge HS tourney from him.
So evidently getting checked into the goalie is goalie interference in the Nacho

ND taking a stupid penalty for trying to play the puck with a broken stick 😆
Maine defeats UConn 5-2 in the Hockey East championship and secures the #3 overall seed.
With Maine winning the Gophers win finish #4 or #5 overall.
When the Western Michigan/North Dakota game goes final we get to celebrate getting a number one seed or the Sue's season ending.
I am cool with either.
Mankato wins 4-2 to earn the CCHA auto bid even though they already had it.
According to the College Hockey News box score Alex Bump has attempted 19 shots so far tonight.
Apparently nobody told him he can pass the puck. 😉 😀
The next closest on either team is 5 attempted shots by two Broncos and one Sue player.
Coming into tonight Bump had 202 shots on goal. Western Michigan has only one other player over 100 and he has 103.
20 shots over the 2nd guy in the NCAA too lol, almost 50 more shots than Snuggy. That's wild.Coming into tonight Bump had 202 shots on goal. Western Michigan has only one other player over 100 and he has 103.
I normally don't complain about the announcers, but Starman snd Heinert hurt my ears. We should have stayed at the local bar with no volume.
I was recently informed by a GPLer that I'm related to Airey
Fells like this game should be about 6-1 right now
Und missing that empty net was chefs kiss
Watching a stream, but also yeah what else is new? 🤣@trixr4kids you must be a bit behind
Wmu just dumb dumb dumb. Und not dead yet
So much for the Whioux and their black business suit jerseys

With North Dakota's loss both Quinnipiac and Penn State have made the NCAA tournament.

Sometimes I wonder if Starman even remembers he’s announcing a game with the stories he rambles on about. And the other guy is always ‘YELLING’ Take it easy Lapanta.
Gophers fall to 5 in pairwise, any chance of back to 4 with DU win tonight?
Yes
3 Bold Predictions:
1. Michigan misses the tourney
2. ASU makes the tourney
3. BU wins Hockey East
1 out of 3
Cornell up 2-0 over Clarkson after 1 in ECAC championship game. I always forget that Pierre McGuire does color for that league. He doesn't name drop as much as he used to do.

Just for pure enjoyment, I'd love for Cornell to win here to make the tournament, then for the committee to send them to Fargo as one last poke in Mike Schafter's eye by forcing him to head out west to play in front of a hostile crowd.

I have a dislike for that program that goes back to the regional final at mariucci years ago. My ticket was by their fans and one loudmouth jerk was yelling at our cheer squad on the ice and just a total prick all game. I had an open seat by our band on the other end I had my eye on but decided to stick it out and hold my ground. I said to myself when we win I’ll get mine. When we got the game winner I turned around and he was in tears. Sweet revenge without a word said. He wasn’t the only person their fan base rivaled North Dakota for the obnoxious traveling fan award. Anyway I don’t carry grudges on a regular basis by any means but haven’t let go of that one just yet.😂
It probably wouldn't be Fargo but Cornell is likely to get sent west to Toledo, Ohio to play Michigan State in the first round where they could be playing in front of a pro Sparty crowd.
East Lansing, MI to Toledo, Ohio is a 124 mile drive.
Columbus, OH to Toledo, Ohio is a 133 mile drive.
So that regional could definitely be mostly fans from the Big Ten schools.
Ithaca, NY to Toledo, Ohio is a 442 mile drive.
When I was working out east I traveled to a bunch of different D1 college hockey rinks. When I visited Cornell the leader of their student section welcomed me into their student section (I was wearing a Gopher hockey jersey) and said stick with me I got your back. He and his friends showed me a great time. I will never forget how I was treated even though they had no reason to go out of their way to welcome me.
Their student section has a REALLY fun time. Their chants/cheers are pretty interesting. A couple of my favorites was them copying the opponent goalie's mannerisms and them taunting their own fans for leaving early chanting "Sit down Townies" "Sit down Townies" 🤣
Yep. And Schafter was whining about having to play at Mariucci and how unfair that was. Even though the Gophers were the #1 seed.Just for pure enjoyment, I'd love for Cornell to win here to make the tournament, then for the committee to send them to Fargo as one last poke in Mike Schafter's eye by forcing him to head out west to play in front of a hostile crowd.
