In the end, it doesn't directly impact Minnesota in any manner, other than potential 2nd round playoff matchup.
And tOSU wins in OT.

So is the Mich vs OSU game tonight a outdoor game?
Aloha!
Continuing down the stretch run, the Gophers did their heavy lifting last week with the sweep of OSU and have effectively locked a 1 seed barring being swept each of the next 2 weekends. So given that, here are some angles for position jockeying (the 2 is certainly in play) and possible opponents.
AHA, CCHA: both conferences are autobids. If we end up at the 3, there is still a reasonable chance we may see one of these 2 (particularly CCHA if its Mankato) as our first round opponent given the chances of an ECAC autobid or one of the teams out of the field jumping in winning the conference tourney. The AHA tourney starts tonight so the clarity will come quickly. They're single elim this weekend in the "play in" games and then a best of 3 quarters. HC and Sacred Heart have been the best 2 teams all year. CCHA is in their final regular season weekend and there's not much for juice there.
B10: Gopher sweep and MSU dropping a game and we move up to 2. Split from the Gophs won't be enough and neither will both sweeping. Elsewhere, Michigan really needs to win tonight or they are going to be sitting at 14 heading into the B10 tourney with a first round date at PSU looking likely unless the Gophers sweep with both teams needing to win that series to get in.
ECAC: QU and Clarkson is the big one tonight which will get QU near cemented into the field if they win. With a loss, they're still in an ok spot, but they can't slip up to St Lawrence the next night and have a quick exit out of the ECAC tourney. No one else can AL in so there's a decent chance of an ECAC date in the 1st round for our Gophers
NCHC: DU can lock in with a sweep this weekend and be quite near with a split. WMU could officially put ND on tournament win or bust status with a single win this weekend but a split or worse will make the Gophers 100% locked into a one. ASU needs to sweep this weekend to keep their AL hopes alive. Theres still 2 weeks left in the NCHC so lots of shuffling to come in terms of conf tourney positioning
HE: the cannibalizing has continued with the HE field getting super tight. Umass and UML are basically neck and neck with a game coming up tomorrow. Should be another very intense one. the RPI between 11-15 right now are .5534 and .5514 which is insanely tight. Maine has 2 with Vermont this weekend so a loss there probably gets the Gophers feeling much more comfortable to stay with the 3.
Notre Dame wearing their greens tonight. Too much green for my liking between both teams. For the record, any green is too much green.

Notre dame not doing their job yet. 1-0 sparty after one.
I like the navy jerseys with the gold lettering, but put an accent on the breezers or socks or something. So much blue.
3-1 halfway through. Looking like it’s the 2 seed
Sparty is going all out for their 2 Hobey nominees. They have candy bar for Ike Howard and a bag of legos that make a brick wall for Augustine.
I was recently informed by a GPLer that I'm related to Airey
BADgers playing US Under 18 team tonight. Hastings said he wanted to play this game as a warmup to the playoffs. They are down 6-2 after 2 and have pulled 2 goalies so far and have injured 2 USA players. One had to be carted off the ice... Mooney with a goal for USA.

Badgers are a team I’m very ok not playing again. Not that I don’t think we’d kick their ass, but that is 100% expect them to try hurt people
Any chance Logan Hensler would go portal shopping?

While I think Minnesota at #3 is about right, I really don't think any higher is proper, so not sure about that #1 vote the Gophers got.

Seems pretty reasonable. Allentown regional looks like it’d be awesome fun and it’s going to be a brutal opening round matchup for Maine or wmu in the first round if PSU makes it
In order for PSU to make it, I assume they have to win the 1st round series at Michigan right? And if that happens, would Michigan fall out?
Difficult to say for sure at a glance. I suspect PSU winning would probably move them up a bit. Whether Michigan drops out would depend on what happens in other games for bubble teams.

"In order for PSU to make it, I assume they have to win the 1st round series at Michigan right? And if that happens, would Michigan fall out?"
Michigan's chance to make it to the NCAA via an at large bid 78% -- PSU's 44%
Given these odds there is a decent chance PSU could win the series but Michigan still make the Field. if it was closer to a 60%-40% type split that would imply that only one could make it in.

pairwise manipulator is live if you want to play around. Barring the other game results:
PSU sweep: PSU 11th, Mich 14th. Would suspect Mich gets passed in this setting just playing percentages.
Mich sweep: Mich 9th, PSU 16th and out.
Mich wins 2-1: Mich right around 11th, PSU clings right around 14th and probably out unless we get real chalky all over and hope UML keeps losing.
PSU wins 2-1: PSU to 13th, Mich 12th. PSU would likely need to win their semifinal game to be safe as QU likely to pass them from ECAC tourney or there is possibility of other bid stealer bouncing them.
The above is not accounting for OT games, which could alter the changes to their respective RPI. And of course both of these teams want to see UMass, UML and ASU lose and there to be nothing but chalk elsewhere. ECAC could also get hairy as if QU loses, it's a bid stealer with the worst case scenario is QU win out, then lose the ECAC championship in which case its a 2 bid league as QUs RPI could probably withstand that given there are enough teams in the ECAC in the low 20s so it wouldn't be too big a hit.
short version: if someone sweeps, they're safe and loser is probably out. If it's a split series, Michigan safe and PSU most likely out if Michigan wins. If PSU wins a split series, PSU still not safe and depends on their next game with Michigan probably still safe.

Where?
if you go into the PWR, there is a subtab with customize. Allows you to alter one teams games and see resultant PWR. thats why I said won't account for other games, but at least lets you change some things. The full on one I think goes up in 2 weeks as there's less permutations left then

Forgive me if this has been answered before, but has anyone heard if/when Fargo regional single game tickets will go on sale? Will they wait til ND is officially eliminated?

given there are no 3 game sets, I believe they will only be secondary market and then the team allotments at this point. The website for Scheels arena lists that single games will be "at a later date". Sounds like talking to the locals in Fargo the tickets sold out pretty quickly so I wouldn't anticipate a ton available and that they'll go quickly once the Gophers are announced there
I'm crossing my fingers on the Green Plague not making the tournament, as soon as that's final, I'll go look for tickets, because there should be a ton suddenly available.

I was up there 2 years ago for the Saturday game but I can't remember if I bought resale. My guess is they probably were resale.
Either it wasn't sold out ahead of time, or I got our tix on resale for 2023. I know I went through the Scheel center site, but, that links through TicketBa$tard so anyone that re-listed their tickets there could have shown up too.I'm crossing my fingers on the Green Plague not making the tournament, as soon as that's final, I'll go look for tickets, because there should be a ton suddenly available.

They have been on sale for awhile and are sold out. At least they were when I looked last week.
can anyone who bought some tell us what face was? I’m sure the whioux fans will try to charge an arm and a leg. They’ll want way more than a toe…
BU outshot 40-19. And win 8-2. Crazy
That is crazy. Providence never changed goalies in the game.
Providence's main goalie who has played 70% of the minutes this season didn't play so I wonder if he is hurt which would explain why the second goalie played the whole game even though things weren't going well at all.
4 goals on 8 shots in the first period
2 goals on 5 shots in the second period
2 goals on 6 shots in the third period
The expected goals where
Providence 4.2
Boston University 2.0

of note, asu loss was last week.
Michigan is going to have a very stressful game tomorrow. Loss and they will need to hope for chalk everywhere (outside of ccha and aha which are irrelevant) to sneak in as the last seed with the ECAC only having qu and nchc only with 2 choices. In theory qu getting bounced early may protect them enough but awful lot on the line for them tomorrow
Michigan being the only team in the Big Ten that tomorrow "might" be playing for their season is certainly surprising.
As pointed out we won't know for sure their ultimate fate if they lose tomorrow until other conference playoffs play out but who had Michigan not (Wisconsin or Notre Dame) being the Big Ten team in the most danger of playing their last game tomorrow?
So all 3 Big 10 home teams lost last night, college Hockey is so weird it is hard to explain 😱
Aloha!
Penn State finishes off the road sweep of Michigan with a 5-2 win tonight (no empty net goals).
Ohio State comes back from 2-0 down to beat the BADgers 3-2 in OT to force game 3. Wisconsin was less than two minutes away from sweeping the series on the road but gave up the tying goal with 1:29 left in regulation with the Buckeye goalie pulled.

Arizona State is currently 15th in Pairwise if the Sun Devils finish ahead of them it is likely over for Michigan.
Arizona State is the #2 seed in the NCHC and will play the #7 seed UMD Bulldogs in a best of three series next weekend.
The Sue on senior night loses 7-3 (one empty net goal) to Omaha which allows Omaha to pass them for the #4 seed in the NCHC.
As a result, the Sue will be on the road playing at Omaha next weekend in a best of three series.
After tonight's games, it looks like BC is locked into the #1 overall
MSU is 78% #2, 22% #3 an 0.1 % #4
Gophers are back down to 7% #5 and 0.2% #6. Win tomorrow I would guess finally locks them into a 2-4 overall seed, but we'll see.
