There is a large plugin called "Buddy Press" that can highlight friends and whatnot, but nothing to get rid of, or hide users. I will keep looking in to it.

FYI... I am editing a few users that have zero spaces in their usernames. It bugs me when those names have one or 2 characters wrap.

But for those of you that I am changing, your username is NOT being changed. Just the Display Name that others see.

Another FYI... I blocked a few "BOTS" that were always on the site. There were like 3 bots that always had multiple versions of themselves hitting the site. I certainly do not care that Google has multiple bots on the site, but when something like SEMRUSH has 10 on the site and using 3gb of bandwidth a month. Sorry... gotta go!

That was always there unless I’ve gone completely insane and it was removed at some point.

It wasn't when the site first moved over.  It was added after it was requested.

I decided to remove the posting ranks... (Newbie, Rookie, Veteran) With this place only counting active posts and when old ones are removed changing our counts. I figured it is time to get away from those type of "statuses".

There are still "Badges" for a few things. I need to get "Golden" up and running, but right now that is a complete manual process that I have to do one by one. Maybe I will start that tonight or something.

I was just looking at the 'member list' and went through the first two pages.  There are several names I didn't recognize ever... LoL!!!

Made some tweaks to the main text box... Right next to the Smilie icon is the toolbar toggle that will allow you to see more options.

Good thing I didn't pay for an expensive plugin to get a bunch of formatting options for this place. I literally almost pulled the trigger on a one time purchase of $150, but the tweaks I was able to make for free was well worth the little bit of learning I needed to do it.

i can’t go beyond page one of the topic list. I get this: (ignore the black box that was the Wild game)

Apparently it doesn’t tell you before you try to post if a picture file is too large either….I can send you a pic of what I’m seeing if you want.

yes, but I can upload the photo, but there is nowhere it tells me the size of my photo.  So I can’t tell if it’s too big before I hit submit and get an error.

Also? How can I delete an attachment I don’t want before posting?

I just changed the upload file size to 1mb. Now testing the pixel size. I think it MAY be the the max size for the size which is over 2000.

Here I just tried a 1200px wide image that is over 500kb

The spacebar double tap only works on your phone. Same with autocapitalization. That works on my phone at least. But never on my laptop/desktop. It never did.

Yeah... Let me see what I can do about that. I am guessing it can be fixed with a bit of code. Thanks for telling me about that.

BTW... I just set it so if you attached an image or file. it can only be seen by logged in users.

Is there a way to preview a post before submitting?

What is looks like is happening is that, when we get to 75 posts on a page, it starts the next page before the next post.  I've noticed this a couple times.

I guess I just do not get the scroll down thing. Typically you read down the page. If you click the Gold icon for new comment, it brings you to the most recent post. So you are scrolling up anyways. But it is not going to be added for now. There is a plugin for it, but it is out of date and no advisable to install. i will keep an eye our for it.

I have made some tweaks. Got rid of a few smilies. That Better Dead Than Red one is just too big for the window. So it had to go.

well with having to search for the last read post, I do a lot of scrolling. Not a biggie tho!

My other question was a little hidden above - any way to preview a post before submitting?  Ie when adding a gif or photo or something, so you know it works in advance of posting and then having to go back to editing?

As of right now, nothing is available.

In the NHL thread I saw that quoting a Twitter link doesn't keep the format, it just becomes garbled link text in the quote.  By the time you've quoted the quoted quote it's quite a jumble.

Maybe it's Elon's fault?

Finally answered the question if I like the new portal with a yes.  It's just taking time to get use to and there are features on the previous portal I miss.  Though as time goes, Jup will keep tweaking the new msg board and functions.  It's still the same msg board for coming to and getting up to date info on Gopher Hockey as well as other topics.

Still looking for a birthday plugin to put on that page. Nothing really available. But just about everything else is on the page. Once games are scheduled, that will be on the page. I already have articles from Eric & Chris showing up on the page. Things like that I could just not do before.

Post stats and top posters? With this board, we are getting away from stats like that. They will constantly change as old threads go away. So no sense adding that to the page.

The biggest thing right now is still a link to the most recent unread post. That may be a long time to get up and running. Just nothing out there right now. At least if you hit the gold icon, it will take you to the most recent post.

Big difference with the new portal is viewability when you hit the page. You used to see a lot without scrolling or anything. Now there is a lot of white space and you see about two topics (on desktop) and on mobile you need to scroll down quite a ways.

Looks like that "New Portal Page" code block will probably go away at some point, though.

The only things I miss the most is getting a notifications if someone quoted you and being able to put the "@xxx" option and getting a notification for that as well.  Post stats and top posters was a feature that can go.

There is a plugin called Buddy Press that does all that... But it also changes a ton of other things. Like defaulting all notifications to ON for everyone. Meaning everyone would have to turn that off and there was no way I could globally make that change. So I went another direction.

I tried the option of “Notify me of follow-up replies via email” and after 2 days stopped.

The text box to post is still sized wrong on my iPhone. It’s wider than the screen widtwidth.

I wonder if Jupiter was able to tell who was blocked the most on the old platform?  He would be my guess for most blocked right behind section161617 guy.

I do not know who was blocked the most...

The funny thing is that Sec16 WAS imported to this board since the importer had no idea who was block and who wasn't. So for about a day or so he could have logged in before I blocked him again.

if you click the gold envelope icon showing that there are new posts, it will bring you right to the most recent post.

Edit: You can also click the date under the "last post" column as well.
