That joke is so yesterday. Unless you're Danny Kristo. Then I'd recommend afoot in aboot.

The live broadcast on MIXLR.com saved this weeks podcast due to a bonehead move by me. :ddown:
On my recording of the podcast, I selected the wrong input and ended up only recording my side of the recording. The rest was nothing but a very faint sound of Cardinal and Hammy in the background... But I was saved by MIXLR since we were broadcasting live. That broadcast is a combination of all of the inputs. So I was able to download it and save this weeks podcast. :dup:

I just wanted to compliment Jup, Hammy & Cardinal on the nicely done GPL podcast. I usually listen on Wednesday mornings at work.
By contrast, I had never listened to the INCH podcast before downloading it today. I got less than 6 minutes into it before shutting it off. Yeah, I didn't give it much of a chance, but I was bored to death listening to those INCH goobers.
Thanks HockeyBum!!!
We're taking this week off, but we'll be back next week.

Android users...
What is the Android equivalent to iTunes? Is there a store where I can put the GPL Podcast? After doing a few searches, I really don't see a main hub that would be similar to iTunes.

My android powered phone came with the Amazon MP3 store on it if thats what you mean.
It looks like we are going to have Tim Brule as a special guest on the podcast this week. Tim is the co-founder and president at USCHO.com. He's also the guy that came up with the PairWise rankings. So listen in live at 9:30pm Tuesday night and Tweet us your questions or you can email your questions to [email protected].
You can listen live on the podcast page HERE.

Thanks for the shout out 😆 😆
I wasn't listening but your buddy Bert posted it over on Rube Chat so I figured I'd check it out.
Everyone can say what they will about DHG, but his appearance on the podcast was pretty subdued. Like any of us I think he is pretty nervous about his team's chances in the Final 5 and beyond. I was glad and also sad that no one tried to :poke: him, it would have made for good recorded history!
I'm glad that you have done these podcasts Jup, they have been fun to listen to and sometimes insightful. I hope you do this again next year, I have enjoyed it!

Wow, what a great WCHA Final Five mind DHG has. He picked UND vs Denver. :ahhh:

Like I said I wanted a mn-UMD final, but the way the teams were playing everything told me a und-Denver final. Although the bulldogs found a way to make it a game
any special guests on this week's podcast? Frank Mazzacco again? Perhaps bring in someone with east coast bias that covers BU? Boston Hockey Blog?
No guests...

We decided not to do a season ending podcast...
I was sick last week, so we couldn't do it then. Cardinal is really busy with the Vikings this week & next week. So since the season ended almost 2 weeks ago, I just figured that we would skip it. We'll be back again in the fall once the season gets closer. If something big happens between now and then, we may whip something up. Otherwise well be back most likely in September.
Thanks for listening to the podcast! I hope you enjoyed it!

Thanks for doing the podcasts this year guys. It's nice to hear some real conversations about the team and league as opposed to the crap they put out on the radio. Please keep it going next year as well.
Second that, really enjoyed the podcasts. Be sure to bring them back for next year.
Great job on the podcasts Jup! Cardinal and Hammy did a great job of watching and commenting on the entire league. The guests every now and then were fun, even DHG did a good job on his appearance! Definitely bring the podcast back next year, just another reason to come here to GPL!

Jup, Cardinal, Hammy... thanks for donating your time to the Podcasts this season. I listened to every one, and you guys did a terrific job. With all due respect to DHG, I especially liked the episode with Frank.
The GPL Podcast will be returning to the airwaves next Wednesday night. (Oct 3rd) It will be Hammy and myself along with Vegoe who is taking over for Cardinal since he decided to retire. Hope you tune in.

There's a ton of apps available. Haven't tried one yet for the GPL Podcast. Maybe I will tonight.

I know there are a ton of apps.... But how do you actually subscribe to a podcast? I store it on the GPL server and I have an rss feed so that iTunes knows what to do. But I have no clue what to do for Android.

Ok. Here's what I did but it's not working yet.
1. I installed one of the POD players. Podkicker is what I chose. It's free.
2. I went to the Podcast page on my android browser and selected the latest podcast.
3. Podkicker was a choice for launch so I then selected that.
4. Podkicker then offered to subscribe to the Podcast, but when I hit subscribe it said "invalid feed".
So, I think what I need is the URL of the RSS feed for the Podcast and I'm good to go.

Yeah I'm pretty sure you need the URL, Google Listen used to be a good free app for subscribing to podcasts, but they pulled the plug on that app.
Edit: PodKast is also a free app for subscribing to podcasts.

FWIW I was able to open the .mp3 from my Browser on my phone and listen. To be pure and listen on a podcast player and be able to subscribe to it I think Jupe would have to provide the RSS feed that he gives ITunes??
Just guessing. This isn't my area of expertise.
PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!!!!!!!
The free Android App PodDroid gives you access to ITunes Podcasts. So, Jupiter need do nothing. I was able to access the page with all the podcasts and listen to whatever I wanted. I made it a favorite in the PodDroid player. All set.
Anyone interested in joining me for a live broadcast during the game Saturday night? Like we did last year?
Let me know.
We did this via Skype, so if you are interested in joining us, you'll need it. Just add "JupiterGPL" as a contact to Skype and I can confirm you. Then we will try to get you on the air.

I learned today that the program that we use to send out our podcasts live (MIXLR) as we record them now has an iPhone App. So what does this mean? It may allow me to do remote live broadcasts with my iPhone. Obviously the audio quality would not be great since the audio would be coming from my iPhone instead of a headset. But I think it would allow me broadcast post game interviews that Lucia and the players have with the media.
I was thinking I could just turn it on when players and coaches come out to talk and you could listen in. We could even use it to do crude remote broadcasts during the Final Five in a few weeks.
If I could get something like this to work, is it something you guys would be interested in?
Would you listen to those kind of broadcasts?

Since it looks like there's an Android app, I probably would. Usually listen to Frank/Wally post-game, but especially for like the Final 5 and stuff, I'd probably tune in.
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?

No.... you don't need the App at all. You can listen with any device.
The App does allow you to listen to broadcasts easier, but the key for me was that it allows me to broadcast from anywhere.

Heck ya!
I am also going to put the GPL MIXLR player on the Portal page so that people will know when we are broadcasting live. I figure that the Portal page is the most popular page on the site, why not have the audio right there for all to listen instead of having it buried on the Podcast page.

What kind of time-frame after the game are you thinking of for the post-game broadcasts?
