Another great show.  Really love Eric as a guest.

I concur, another great show with Eric.  I was a little surprised during the goalie talk that Dryden McKay didn't get more airtime.  He is definitely an undersized goalie that was considered one of the best during his tenure and he has been given a chance at the pro level.  I realize he is in the ECHL right now so he is nowhere close to "made it" in the NHL.  Just surprised he was given a shot considered he is a generous 5' 11" tall.

Another great podcast this week @Jupiter and @Vegoe  I really enjoyed the overtime format with guests brought in for questions and some answers from the resident lawyer @SkiUMahLaw  Also some good info from Craig Flohr about the rink reconfiguration.

This snowstorm may close schools and places of business/work and limit travel, but it won't stop the GPL Podcast... lol!!!

Another fun podcast with Jack last night.  It is so much fun to have former players on the podcast but especially when they are fun and engaging like Jack or Schierhorn.

In past years I mostly listened via podcast but I have enjoyed the youtube streams a lot this year. very professional looking streaming setup you got @jupiter.

Yikes.  All kinds of early with Vegoe not making it.

This will be the night for a true marathon OT, and everyone can still get to bed at a normal time 😀

John King on the podcast this week. Normal time of 9:30 Wed. night.

Next week we will be LIVE from Amalie Arena with Todd Milewski as our guest and hopefully other guests too since so many people will be at the arena. BUT... The arena will close at 7pm eastern. So in order to do this, that live show will be much earlier than normal.

We are shooting for 4:30 central / 5:30 eastern... Full show, but there will be no overtime since we will have to pack up and get out of there.

@jupiter Dumb question. Is the media just allowed in the arena during your podcast or is the general public allowed? ( It may be the 1st one I miss since the pep rally may be going on at the same time )

My educated guess is that the public will NOT be allowed in the arena.

We'd like to do it from the press box. But we will take what we can get at this point. If they could do a common area, that would be great. But we would have no way of getting the sound out for people to hear. Todd and I will be live on site, Vegoe will be remote from home since he isn't coming down until Thursday morning.

We are very low tech... I have a laptop, an external webcam, and 3 lapel mics for us to use. That is the extent to our tech. But we have been low tech since day one and I feel that we have done pretty darn good. So why ruin a good thing? Let's just keep flying by the seat of our pants!!!

Jupe you need to pull a, "Don't you know who I am?" card and demand extra time in the arena. Or go full Karen and demand to talk to the manager. That always works.

I put the LIVE podcast feed up on the GPL PODCAST page for a one stop shop to watch and YouTube chat if you want. Sure you can still watch via our YouTube channel or YouTube app. But it just a nice place to watch on GPL.

Another great podcast with John King.  I didn't realize what he was up to besides the Wild on 7th podcast.  Checked out the Pulltab Sports for the first time and found they have a lot of different podcasts and other sports content.  ?

One final thank you to @Jupiter and @Vegoe for producing the GPL Podcast throughout this season.  Appreciated all the great guests on the podcasts and game breakdowns.  I look forward to seeing the returning guests like Schlossman, Schierhorn, and Jack Ramsey.  Bringing in viewers during OT was a cool addition to the podcast as well!

Now let's start a list of possible guests next season.  Maybe Jup could get the band back together for a podcast with Cardinal and Hammy?  Coach Motzko?  I mean, he did the Bevvy with Bob with John King so how hard would a GPL Podcast be?  Buccigross?  Just a couple guests quick off the top of my head.

A few things coming up soon...

We have a podcast we recorded down at the U that we will hopefully release very soon. It is with Tom Betti, the main architect from JLG Architects that designed all the coming changes to 3M Arena at Mariucci. Just waiting for a few graphics for the video and approval from the U and Mortenson Construction. Then I will get it posted.

Then at 7pm on Tuesday, June 27th... We will have Gopher goalie Justen Close live on the podcast courtesy of Dinkytown Athletes. Not sure how long we will have him, but it will be fun no matter what. You will be able to watch that on our YouTube channel and of course here as well. Hopefully we'll get a good live audience that night! 

I suspect we will have OT for that show... Just not with Justen.

Justen had a hard time hearing us, but it still went pretty well this evening.

Is 7:00 the new start time?  Do I need to re-arrange my Wednesday night schedules?  I understood last week being at the away arena being a weird time, but just getting ready to order dinner and my phone buzzing tonight to tell me the podcast started two and a half hours early was a surprise, particularly with the side banner still showing the link from last week, rather than tonight's episode.

Great podcast with Marissa last night, overtime was great as always.  @Jupiter  @Vegoe

One topic I would like to chime in on...Mettlers.  You know you can just go in there for a drink and food.  If you don't want to get bothered as much by the dancers, sit over my the pool table/dart games.  I think the dancers don't walk over there as much since it is lit up a bit more. 

My wife does work at the Loose Moose and a lot of times I will meet her at Mettlers for a drink if she gets off work early.  We sit at the bar because we like the bartender Woody, who is a fellow Iowan.  As for the food over there, it is the same food that the Moose sells on the other side so don't feel pressured to go to Metty's to get the wings. 

Went to bed last night during OT, but hearing the Flor story... I'm pretty sure I was part of that group.  It was a Blueline event, got to sit on the players bench during practice, tour the remodel Mariucci locker rooms and player areas. We also had dinner with the team up in the club level. Though I faintly recall her saying that.  

Good quick hit podcast last night, though didn't like the injury teaser that we have to wait for today.  There were a lot of great names brought up in OT about possible future guests on the pod.  I love the idea of Ramsey and Schierhorn being on together, they both have awesome guests and think they would probably bring some great stories out from each other.  I also the idea of Nick Angell coming on, at the last GPL skate he was there and shared some good stories in the locker room.  Really any former players would fun to hear their stories and experiences and their views of the current state of the program.

Looking forward to Pat next week and a great OT!

#250 was a banger.  Pat the Rat was great for the main pod and the collection of characters for OT was awesome.  The return of @Hammy !!

Just got up. Need to get the show posted. 

I fell asleep after about the first 90 minutes. Woke at 4 a.m. and finished watching.  Can't say enough about how great this podcast has been through the years, and this episode rocked. Thanks to all involved for putting this together.  Gophers fans are lucky to have you.

Regarding tax dollars - the U gets no tax assistance at all? Period? How does that compare to other B1G schools?

Also with as many players as the U puts into the NHL, where does the school compare with generating donations? And MN ranks in the top 3 in the country for F500 companies per capita - you'd think that would not be an issue compared with other locations.

My wife was sitting next to me when you mentioned that I was named after Pat 'The Rat' Micheletti which left her completely befuddled as she had no idea that was the case.... "Your named after a rat?"

It's so cool that Gopher Hockey has a podcast that's on par with anything I've listened to that covers college or pro athletics.  That is truly special given that we are a niche sport.  

Caponigri is so good on the podcast/overtime. Comes prepared and is knowledgeable. Best guest IMO.
