First drive by JJ was poor. Couldn’t manage to flick the ball to a wide open Jefferson for 5 yards on 3rd and 2. Looked like Ponder in the pocket and takes a sack.
Not a good start for boy wonder
Not a great start from #18, either.
Are they working on that Randall Cunningham wind up in practice?
This is going to be a long project. Enjoy the ride.
lol O’Connel doesn’t even want the ball back.
Brutal
I just flipped to the game and saw that gem. 🤦♀️
Brutal
and not surprising. It’s a small sample size but his accuracy has not been good enough. That’s not just physical accuracy but knowing where to put it and anticipating what the defense and your receivers will do. It’s the most important part of the most important position in sports.
Abysmal is generous... This looks worse than Ponder so far. (Small sample size and all, but WOW. Ugly)
JJ to JJ for a 13 yard TD!!!!
Bears 17
Vikings 12
with 12 minutes left
That was a phenomenal sack by Hargrave
B Flo picking it up on this drive.....

What a weird game. That's a fairly typical catch for Jefferson.
Jefferson has had multiple passes go through his hands today (including an opportunity to set up a 4th and 1 at the Bear seven yard line in the first half that we likely go for) and Thielen dropped a key 3rd down pass.
The back up left tackle has had a rough game which is a key factor on JJ not getting conformable tonight but he is hanging in there.
McCarthy is heating up. J Mac to Jones for a 27 yard TD and then he completes the two pointer to Thielen
Vikings 20
Bears 17
with 9:45 left
I feel a trick play coming from Johnson
This Mason kid....holy hannah.

McCarthy with a 14 yard rushing TD!!!!!!!!
Vikings 27
Bears 17
2:53 left
First career TD for the boy! Good for him!
I like the last 20 minutes of the Vikings much better than the first 35 minutes.
Great play call by KOC but none of this happens without Randy on the Manningcast.
I think he should have gone down at the 1, but cripes it has to be hard to ask a kid in his position to do that. 😀
Peyton imploring JJ to get down as he steamrolls in for a TD.
No one can overthink the game more than PM.

GREAT DECISION TO RUN IT OUT OF THE END ZONE to get the clock down to the 2 minute warning!!!!!
The Bears should have had their kicker kick the ball out of bounds in the air to not allow any time to come off the clock so the 2 minute warning would have been after 1st down.
Ty Chandler picked up the 3rd base coach who was sending him home. 😉

Wanna give MN a 40yd start-line (IIRC)?

KOC + JJ McCarthy = NO PANIC WE GOT THIS!!!!!
The Vikings Billed this game. 😉
Wasn't pretty, but a W is a W.

Field position isn't important that is why we ran it out of the end zone even though the kick was 7 yards deep in the end zone.
The Bears only had one time out left so they needed the 1st down to happen before the two minute warning. They got the ball back with 9 seconds left. Time was WAY more important than field position.

Sure. We all know how they’ll call plays up by 3 near the end. 😂
If they go three and out Bears get that ball back with 40ish seconds left.
The way MN was moving the ball (and stopping CHI) I'd rather try and pin them back. Still a close game, could get lucky. Just handing it to them that close to "dagger" score range....nuh-uhThe Bears should have had their kicker kick the ball out of bounds in the air to not allow any time to come off the clock so the 2 minute warning would have been after 1st down.

The last three real Vikings possessions (the last possession was obviously just running down the clock)
6 plays, 60 yards - 13 yard TD pass
3 plays, 50 yards - 27 yard TD pass
9 plays, 68 yards - McCarthy 14 yard TD run
JJ is CLUTCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a really bad take. The "dagger" is a 1st down. It doesn't matter if they're starting from the 20 or the 40. Worrying about the Vikings scoring makes zero senseThe way MN was moving the ball (and stopping CHI) I'd rather try and pin them back. Still a close game, could get lucky. Bam!!!!!!!
Skol!Skol! Skol! Skol! Skol!!!!!!!!!!
If MN scores a TD, game over. FG? Most likely game over. Don't give them extra field position. Pin them down, make the rookie QB make a mistake, maybe a pick six (dream scenario) or a turnover and a short field....

The mean mugging JJ did in that second half really pounds home that he’s extremely Gen Z and will likely rub a lot of people the wrong way.
I love it.

McCarthy scored the TD that increased the lead from 3 to 9 points (and then 10 with the extra point) with 2:53 left.
If he goes down at the one yard line the Bears would have used their last time out which would have given the Bears a chance to stop us three straight plays two of which would have been before the two minute warning (40 second play clock) and get the ball back down by 6 points (after a FG) with just over a minute left. Yes we could have gone for it on 4th down but if the Bears stop it they get the ball back down only 3 points with just over a minute left (time would have stopped after 4th down on a change of possession). Yes we likely score on one of the first three downs but there was no need to take the chance of the Bears getting the ball back in a one possession game.
