There’s some question about what was said in the background of the video but it’s pretty apparent that Brooks and some other tour players are less than thrilled with DeChambeau’s slow play, style and overall personality.

DeChambeau has made some Twitter comments about Brooks not having the same workout regime as him because Brooks doesn’t have a 6-pack, cause yeah...that’s important in golf.

To be honest, DeChambeau seems like a dick and Koepka got caught on camera at the end of hot, tough day having enough of it, prolly not the only one on tour.

It goes back years too. Brooks hates the slow play of Bryson and made that quite known. Bryson talked to Brooks caddie once before a round on the putting green to talk to him if he had a problem instead of the media. They haven’t really liked each other since.

IIRC it started out years ago when a fan yelled something to Brooks after he mauled a drive, and called him "Brooksy" which Brooks hates (and yelled at the fan not to call him Brooksy).

So during the interview when Brooks was talking about how tough the greens were and Bryson was walking by, Bryson said "Just gotta get it on the right line Brooksy" which led to the eye roll and subsequent memes. That, combined with Bryson being one of only 2-3 tour pros still wearing metal spikes and the loud CLACKCLACKCLACK sound he was making when he walked by during the interview.

I too get the feeling Bryson isn't a favorite among the tour players, but Koepka isn't exactly the nicest guy ever either. Everything I've heard is he's as big a jerk as Bryson is.

If the PGA are going by those outdated guidelines, then his playing partners need to withdraw, also. Just sayin'. Close contact and all.

I realize the players know the rules going in but why not just have him play by himself or something, I don’t know. Plus there’s no way they are still as stringent with their protocols still, none of the rest of us are. I was fully masked until vaccinated, now I’m done with that...isn’t that the point?

He can’t just withdraw right...they can test him again. Imagine having a 6 stroke lead and have to dip out for a false positive.

He’s asymptomatic, he is healthy. This entire charade is embarrassing to its core.

Using a PCR test with a CT of most likely 40 to diagnose “disease” is a joke and with zero clinical observation. And it is not “diagnosing” any infection in Jon Rahm.

Some background on the Rahm situation.

Quote:
The PGA Tour said Rahm was placed in contact tracing protocols on Monday after officials learned he had been in close contact with someone who was Covid-19 positive.

Rahm elected to remain in the tournament and undergo daily testing and have restricted access to indoor facilities at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.

He remained asymptomatic and tested negative every day, the PGA Tour said. But a test performed after Rahm completed his rain-delayed second round on Saturday morning returned a positive result as did a confirmatory test on the original sample, according to the PGA Tour.

Does anyone have any experience/recommendations for rec golf leagues? I'm trying to look for a few friends and I. We are not the greatest golfers. Just want to get out once a week with a little competitive edge to it. It seems like we are too late this year as most started in late April or May sometime.

While they're started, you can still play in these.

This is a very fun US Open.

Not an overly tricked out course so you can get birdies but you have to earn them and bad shots are punished.

That back nine, from what I saw, punished more than a few today. Congrats to Rahm holding on. Those last two putts were CLUTCH.

Very fun viewing today. Hats off to Rahm for going out and winning the Tourney. Watching Oosthuizen on #17 tee, I said to my wife "ANYWHERE to the right...ANYWHERE". And then the tee shot starts down the left side; ouch. Definitely some first class puking by DeChambeau on the back nine. Good God. Shock

What was it, the 8 on Par 4 17? I admit, I chuckled, and thought: yeah, you deserved that.

I just received my Minnesota Golfer magazine in the mail. I rushed into the house for another update on the Minnesota golf scene. I got to page 27, in the article about changes in golf that are carrying over from COVID, and there was Eric Vegoe talking about "online booking and payment." (That's Eric Vegoe, president of the University of Minnesota Men's Golf Club) That's quite a nice title!

Watching The Match on TNT with Mickelson/Tom Brady vs. Dechambeau/Aaron Rodgers.

Pretty impressive to see/listen to the pros thought process out loud and then see the end results. Phil on one of the par 3s discussed exactly what he wanted to do and why, then did exactly what he said and it rolled to about 2.5 feet.

My favorite was on 1 when Rodgers hit it into the trees and down a valley and Brady said “Aaron did you bring bear spray?”

Incredibly solid under any pressure that was brought to bear on him. No bogeys through the final 31 holes and he made some clutch par putts. Definitely earned it this week.

100% agreed. Collin was absolutely spectacular today. Rarely did he hit a bad shot, but when he did his putter was dialed in. The birdie he made on the par 5 (14?) after his wedge didn't quite get over the ridge and Spieth had closed it to a one shot gap was coldblooded. Had to have enough pace to get it up the hill but not too much too much to burn it past the hole. And he hit it perfectly.

Brilliant tournament for Collin.

Felt bad for Louis today, although I was pulling for Collin. Louis was just a hair off all day. The shot he hit into the 253 yard par 3 that doinked the pin and rolled out was an incredible shot.

Bryson DeChambeau melting down on the back nine at WGC St. Jude today…similar to his finish at Torrey Pines in US Open. Wonder what he will say when Amanda B. asks him what happened? ?? Feel bad for 3rd round leader (his playing partner) Harris English, who finished one stroke shy of being in a 3 way playoff. Got to be annoying paired with somebody who plays that slow, their twosome was warned twice today for slow play & it wasn’t because of Harris English, who shot a back nine 40, Bryson shot 41 on back nine, par 35.

Second round of the BMW today, DeChambeau with an uphill 6 foot putt on 18 to shoot a 59. No dice, pulled it left…shoots a 12 under 60.:

Quite the playoff golf going on right now on NBC. DeChambeau has had numerous chances to close it out and somehow Cantlay is making long, clutch putts.
