Fun game!
Added bonus of Detroit remaining in the “you tried” club.
There are still two NFC teams that haven’t made the Super Bowl since the Vikings last did!
Two missed 4th downs while in field goal range for the Lions both in the 2nd half. If they end up losing by 3 points the post game press conference could be interesting - Dan Campbell's response to the questions he gets.
His team would be down by 4 or 7 if they hit both or one of those FGs. He out-cowboyed himself this time, and Lions fans had to watch. Lions beat themselves tonight.
Not even close. Dan Campbell stuck to his coaching strategy. When you start changing your coaching style, you start second guessing yourself.
I get your point, but the team needed to build their lead and keep the crowd out of it. He gambled and lost...oh well.
#8 with a couple easy drops (not the coach's fault, but it's not #8's fault either that the coach left 3-6 points on the table).
Lucky reception.
Lost fumble.
Coach didn't take the points.
They all add up to a loss, none any less important than another.
I was told Brock Purdy wasn't very good.
He’s average. Lynch and Shanahan have built a team where the QB isn’t the most important player .
Yeah make Mahomes the underdog again. When will people learn?
Vegas is more right then “when will people learn”.

I think it's just Detroit. Cleveland, Houston, Jacksonville in the AFC

Though if the 49’ers put Purdy on the trading block… over half the league would be calling. That’s not avg…

When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
Nah, I like the idea of having faith in your players to execute the basics. Can’t really blame the coach if they don’t, coaching scared can backfire too.@gator I just don't agree. Take the points. A lost fumble, a freak play, a couple of bad drops, and lost points that definitely made a difference in the game. Sometimes you can be too much of a cowboy.
San Fran opens -2.5
And in 45 minutes the line has moved to San Fran -1. Vegas must be reading GPL and @collegehockeyaddict posts.

Seeing SF playing the Lions, I'd take KC.
But then I know that KC was playing the 2nd/3rd string CBs/LBs of Buffalo (NOTE: NOT AN EXCUSE, KC BEAT US).
That being said, I'd LEAN towards SF, but I have no friggin' idea right now.

The problem with the NFL and the Super Bowl is similar to the NCAA Hockey Regionals and the Frozen Four. There is a A LOT time, two weeks. If the game was next weekend, I would take KC. San Fran has played with fire for two weekends in a row. They pretty much got lucky vs. both Green Bay and Detroit. Though with the two weeks off, San Fran will figure something out. Though Andy Reed is far superior of a coach than Kyle Shanahan. And that alone, could lead KC over San Fran.

Andy Reid's record after a bye week is VERY impressive.
The Deebo factor was big this week, I think. I agree a LOT can happen in 2 weeks (which I HATE the wait). Hopefully, it's going to be a good game, that's all I can ask for.

There is zero chance I would bet against KC. No that's not me guaranteeing anything, but I'm not betting against KC and Mahomes unless I see compelling reasons not to.

I am not betting against SF unless I see compelling reasons not to. But, they don't have to be THAT compelling.

Mahomes is 14-3 in the playoffs, 14-1 when not facing Brady.
The Niners likely have as much talent as the Chiefs but there is something not quite right/clicking with their team. The way they have won their two playoff games at home has been a lot less impressive overall than the way the Chiefs have won their three playoff games including two on the road.
I will root for San Francisco since KC has won two Super Bowls recently but I've come to realize that thinking Mahomes is going to lose in the playoff is likely not the way to go.

The Chiefs relied on a missed FG to tie it to avoid OT against the Bills (and the 2nd and 3rd string CBs/LBs), and while dominating the 1st half against BALT, they hung on in the 2nd half. I give credit to the Chiefs for doing what they needed to do, but they aren't exactly steamrolling, either.

Yes the game would have been tied if the Bills made the field goal but with 1:43 left to assume the Bills would have stopped Mahomes from getting into field goal position to win in regulation is a stretch.
The Ravens defense is much better than the 49ers defense. The Chiefs will score more in the Super Bowl than they did today.
The Niners offense will have to have a good game and what the Chiefs defense did today was really impressive.
The Lions getting a severe case of butter fingers is the main reason the Niners season isn't over.
I hope you are right and the Niners win but I'm not betting against Mahomes especially now that he has the best defense he has ever had in his career.
Kansas City went 50 years between Super Bowls - Super Bowl 4 (January 1970) to Super Bowl 54 (February 2000) they have now been to 4 of the last 5 Super Bowls.
The Vikings were in Super Bowls 4, 8, 9, and 11 and it has now been 47 years since their last Super Bowl appearance. Oh well that means that we are only 3 years away from following the Chiefs script and making 4 of 5 Super Bowls.
The wait will be worth it. 😀
Current prediction: SF by 2.5, and winning on a stalled last minute drive by KC. I reserve the right to change the prediction in the next 2 weeks...and I also promise to not go overboard if I change my mind (confirm or change next weekend, and then again once more on game-day)

The Niners might win but I don't like your chances of being right predicting they will win by 2.5 points (which team is going to score a half of a point?) BTW, I know what you meant I am just being silly.
Speaking of being silly this cracked me up. 🤣

If you’re asking Meatloaf, he won’t do that…
I just checked. Her last show is Saturday night in Tokyo. With the flights and time difference, she can easily make it back by Sunday morning. She will be there.
Pregame coverage to the SB… similar to Christmas Eve and Santa’s sleigh status, Swift’s status in the air.

Johnnie Football Legend Ben Bartch is playing for a Lombardi this weekend! I'd love to see the 49ers win and the Lombardi Trophy spend a day at Collegeville this summer!?
It still amazes me that he went from a D3 Guard to the NFL.

I do think Zim is best suited as a Defensive Coordinator. He's kind of like Monte Kiffin in that way.
Mike McCarthy and Mike Zimmer coaching the Cowboys together. What a world we live in.

Had heard a little about the kid, but did a quick look on Wiki and, holy crap, what an impossible sounding route to the NFL he took. Extremely cool story.

That smoothie he consumed to bulk up just sounded disgusting but it certainly makes for a compelling story about how he transitioned.

It's the Fumble Bowl
Dude snapped his Achilles just bounding off the sideline. What a bummer.

Halftime shows are getting worse and worse every Super Bowl.

You're getting further and further away from the target demographic.
I don't know Usher from anything (even further from the target demographic) but he and friends/cameos put on a great show.

I have never been a huge fan of Usher. A few of the songs were ok but overall I found the halftime very boring. I think he should have leveraged the other performers a little more.
That said, there have been worse halftime shows. This one was just boring for me. Very Usher.
I thought the halftime show got better as it went on. A little slow to start.
Hoping the football game follows suit. 😉
