Oh good, a Jay Cutler that talks. Another 11th overall pick that we spend 2 plus picks to acquire, that looks bored on the sidelines, is already on his second GM, Coach and OC. He also turned the ball over like a machine last year. At least he doesn’t have a giant looping throwing motion. ?
Bills Mafia is happy that Tyreek is gone to a crappier team.. BUT...
KC has decent depth, still, and now has what, 6 chances to reload? Ugh.

What a dip! How could complaining in public help?
Sometimes I shake my head on the decisions players make. From what I read, the Chiefs offered him a very good contract that would have made him one of the highest paid receivers, but he chose to leave maybe the best QB and offense in the NFL and goes to Miami and Tua. I guess it is all about the money.
Yeah, now the Chiefs top target is an aging Kelce. Hill goes to Miami and now gets Tua as his QB.Will be interesting to see how they both are.

And even with Robinson leaving they still have a couple good WRs.
Good luck. He could not hang on to the passes from Rodgers....

So now there’s a second grand jury investigating D.Watson? That’s not good for Mayfield if he wants to be traded. They might need him to play a lot.

I did not. It wasn’t posted as a joke.

You do realize that his stat line for the 2021 season was 0 dropped passes.

You’re not wrong but he had a really good NFCCG against the Bucs and when hangs onto the ball he’s a legit threat. He also fills the same role as Tyreek. I was kinda hoping he’d stick around with the pack but he was pretty inconsistent and you’re right that it’s risky.

#1 I agree that oversized public funding of these massive profit makers for wealthy owners is a bad idea - before everyone jumps on me for that.
#2 net worth does not mean liquid assets. How much of that $5.8B is the value of the team? Maybe these should be loans vs. public funding outright, but these net worth comparisons do not necessarily mean they have the cash to outlay for a $1B-$2B stadium.
Agreed overall.

There has been and is now a lot of talk about overtime rules. I haven’t seen this anywhere, but why not just get rid of the “sudden death” component and the myriad of conditions surrounding it? Then just do a 10 minute OT period, same as they do now. Timeouts carry over from regulation but you don’t get any extra. The only stoppages are for injuries, no commercials except during those injuries or any timeout used that you still had and possibly another 2 minute warning. Win or tie at the end of 10 minutes.
Did Brady get his wish?

I just saw an interview with Arians yesterday where he said he was very happy that Brady was coming back. Maybe this is a health issue?

They just made the regular season rule apply in the post season.

That was my initial guess, he isn’t young and it’s not exactly an easy job on the ticker.

I think he was retired due to health issues before taking the Bucs job…not sure
This article goes into some of his past and current health issues, most recently he ruptured his Achilles. https://nypost.com/2022/01/02/buccaneers-coach-bruce-arians-may-need-achilles-surgery/
The mock draft I just saw had 4 of the top 7 picks as DE and the 11,12, 14 and 15 picks as CBs. Could make for lots of movement on draft day.
Show me the money...

WRs receiving $25M per year is gross.
WRs receiving $25M per year is gross.
So is QBs getting $50m plus.
But this is pretty awesome:

DWAYNE HASKINS
QB, PITTSBURGH STEELERS
Haskins
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Dwayne Haskins was hit by a car and killed Saturday morning in South Florida.
An unspeakable tragedy. Only 24 years old, Haskins was the No. 15 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft following a standout performance at Ohio State in 2018 where he set single-season school and conference records for passing yards and passing touchdowns. Haskins did not have as much success in the NFL, but he was on track to compete for the backup job in Pittsburgh. Schefter reports he was in South Florida to train with his Steelers teammates ahead of the season. Our thoughts are with his loved ones.

I believe Florida has the most pedestrian deaths by cars in the country. Due to their half assed infrastructure there’s not near as many sidewalks and crosswalks as there should be.
My job involves designing projects for all modes of traffic. Pedestrian safety/access is a huge issue. Many cities in the world are not set up well at all for pedestrian/bikers and bad driver behavior makes it dangerous. As drivers we could make things sooooooooooo much safer if we slowed down. Yes you will get to your destination a few minutes later but everybody will likely to get to their destinations alive. Is it worth it to speed?
This is a general comment not specifically about the crash that caused Dwayne's death (the specifies are unknown to me at this time).
This could also have been somebody intoxicated that stumbled into the street. It’s terrible regardless.
Reports I've seen are that his car ran out of gas (though this hasn't been confirmed by anyone reputable as far as I know). He was apparently driving to the airport to return to Pittsburgh after training in Florida with some other Steeler QBs, RBs, and WRs.

I drive for work and the amount truly dumb crap I see people pull just to stay on whichever lane they think is moving faster is crazy. That and obvious inattention are major issues. I’ve seen people whip across 3 lanes of heavy traffic to make an exit in the downtown St.Paul 35E/94 commons. What’s the rush? I basically drive 3-5 MPH over the speed limit everywhere I go, no need to go any faster, I’ll get there soon enough.

Oh god. I hope he wasn’t trying to bring it back empty to save a few bucks.

I thought you had to bring it back full? Maybe trying to get near the airport before stopping to get gas?

You can prepay for a full tank. The rate is usually less than the going rate but unless you return it bone dry it doesn’t typically pay because they charge you times the fullest size of the tank.

This was my thought when I heard he ran out of gas, but that still has not been confirmed anywhere that I've seen.
So he may be alive if he stopped and threw $5 in the tank. I get it tho, sometimes I’ll avoid crossing a busy street to get gas hoping there’s one on my side of the street coming up. Sometimes it works out sometimes it gets hairy.
NFL has def turned the draft into a crazy show. Pre-introducing 20 players as “Top Prospects” and lining them up on stage seems kinda risky if some don’t get picked tonight.
Looks like a good year if you’re drafting for offensive needs
5 Georgia defensive players go in the 1st round. No wonder their defense was sooooooo good and lead them to the National Championship.
That's a logical fallacy
When is the next QB going to get taken? 1 QB taken in the first 50 picks. I can't image this has happened very often. In compairsion there were 10 WR taken in the first 50 picks.
I realize it is a down year for QBs but there was still a lot of talk about 4 QBs going in the first round. Will there be even 3 QBs taken in the first two rounds?
Now 12 WR taken in the first 53 picks
With the 63rd pick the Buffalo Bills selected Dalvin Cook's brother James Cook RB (Georgia).
I am curious why ILB Nakobe Dean (Georgia) has fallen so far. ESPN has him as the 19th ranked player. The 3rd round is starting and he is still available.
He has refused to have surgery to repair his shoulder.
Tampa drafted former Gopher TE Ko Kieft
The NFL website has no photo or info on him. The clearly did not think there was any possibility he would be picked. Tampa seems to like Gophers.
