SMU currently leads the conference at 5-0 (8-1 overall) their non conference loss was to BYU who is leading the Big 12 conference.
Miami 5-1 (9-1 overall)
Clemson 5-1 (6-2 overall) their conference loss is to Louisville (who has two conference loses) and the non conference lose is to Georgia.
Pittsburgh 3-1 (7-1 overall) their conference loss is to SMU.
Who ever ends up winning the ACC Championship game has a very good chance to get a first round bye in the 12 team playoff.
Four teams get first round byes and it is based on the top 4 ranked conference winners so it will almost certainly be the Big Ten champion, the SEC champion, and 2 of the following 3 the Big 12 champion, the ACC champion and the highest ranked Group of 5 champion.
No conference can get more than one of the four byes so a Big Ten or SEC team finishing in the top 4 doesn't get a bye if they don't win their conference championship game.
With Miami losing today there is a good chance the Top 7 in tomorrow's polls is all Big Ten and SEC if the other top teams avoid losing today.
In the AP poll that came out today 4 of the top 5 teams are from the Big Ten.
#1 Oregon
#2 Oho State
#3 Texas
#4 Penn State
#5 Indiana
2 weeks Indiana finally really gets to prove themselves. They’ve had somewhat of an easy BIG sch. Next weekend Indiana has bye and Ohio State is @ Northwestern.
I'm just mystified how bipolar Iowa is this year. They lost a completely winnable game vs. UCLA but defensively Iowa couldn't do a damn thing. Crazy stats from this game is that Iowa gave up more offense this weekend than they did vs. Stanford when they got stomped (45-16) in the Rose Bowl in 2016.
Also...news flash, Iowa State is not the world beaters that their fanbase thought they were a couple weeks ago. 🤣

Wisconsin has to make up how many laps on Nebraska in this one? 4? 5?
I have faith.

Indiana at least so far has come to play in Columbus.
They stop Ohio State three and out
Then drive 70 yards on 11 plays taking over 6 minutes off the clock
Hoosiers 7-0
Ohio State is a 10.5 point favorite and I still expect them to win but Indiana passes the first part of the test with flying colors (would they be nervous/overwhelmed early playing their first ranked opponent).

They lost by 23 and gave up TDs on the next 4 drives...sorry but you are reaching here.
Yeah, OSU basically did a wait-and-see, and then stomped the curb.
The game was way closer than the scoreboard. 14 pts for OSU on punt returns. And the last OSU td was garbage. Indiana basically threw up the white flag. And Ryan Day’s little man insecurity had his team score.

Ohio State dominated the 2nd half but it was 14-7 at half time so no Ohio State did not score TDs on the next 4 drives.
In my original post I said I thought Ohio State would win but Indiana was off to a good start so far.
Because OSU didn't score on their first drive? Again that is a bit of a reach.
How many times have we seen teams play above their heads for the first quarter and end up getting their hat handed to them? Sorry but Indiana didn't prove anything except that most of us are right about them. (Very good but not really in the same league as the helmet schools)
You sound like Twins fans who at the end of the season talk about how great their record was in May 🤣

I see so if you just take away 3 scores the game is much better than it seems...
"If you just take away the 4 goals Rinzel was a part of Notre Dame looks much better on the weekend".
Apples and oranges… the muffed punt would’ve hade a different outcome going into the half. OSU did nothing to cause that muff. I’ll give you the punt return. And Ryan Day would’ve been crying if any other team did what he did in the closing seconds. Going for a TD up by 16 with 30 seconds left in the game and Indiana wasn’t using their to’s.
Though you are correct about Indiana with their schedule. Prior to yesterday, Indiana was 7-0 in the BIG, but all 7 games were against the bottom 7 in the BIG. And they played 3 butterballs for their non conference.
Say what you want… but if Minnesota had Indiana’s schedule… the Gophers wouldn’t been 10-0 going into Columbus yesterday. The Gophers had a very favorable sch a couple years ago and they found a way to piss it away.
Alabama drops from 6 to 13 in the AP. Interesting to see how far they drop in the Playoff Ranking poll. Currently at 7. I can see the committee do their best to get Alabama in the field of 12. A much more deserving team will either drop out or be jumped by Alabama.
It's been very nice to have no expectations for the Iowa football team the second half of this season. Kaleb Johnson has been a very nice story along with the reemergence of an offense that is on their third QB of the season. I hope they beat the Bug Eaters on Friday to finish the season with a win. Like everyone else I could care less about a bowl game.

Thank god the season is over. Wouldn't it be expected that Iowa would play like crap and eek out the win yesterday. Such a jeckyl and hyde season....and no, I do not expect Ferentz to retire and he sure as hell won't be fired. The one real bright spot on the year was Kaleb Johnson, he had a monster year at RB1 which wouldn't have happened if Brian Ferentz was still coaching at Iowa.
Iowa has a lot of work to do over the next nine months to get the QB position, both lines, and LB positions solidified. It's next man up for the lines and LB's which is the Iowa way. The QB spot starts with Brendan Sullivan, it will be nice not to have the $600k man Cade McNamara bringing that spot down. Hopefully the Iowa offense will take another step with having nine months for the squad to work with Tim Lester on his offense. It was nice to see the absolute worst offense in the nation last year increase their YPG by 100 yards this season.

I remember my 1st Gopher game I went to at Memorial stadium, it was a sunny warm game vs Ohio State with Archie Griffin, the Gophers played good but still lost

Did a couple of the Michigan players get maced in that brawl?
…and a Michigan player calling OSU classless is rich.
I was thinking the same thing.
Michigan players did nothing wrong. Almost always teams plant their flag at the 50 yrd line on their opponents field after a rivalry win. OSU should’ve just went to the locker room. OSU has done the same thing on other opponents fields. And crying Ryan can go pound sand. He’s classless as it gets.

I seriously doubt Michigan players did “nothing wrong”. That isn’t even their first after game brawl this year.
