Has there been any opinions about how Sammy Walker is down in the farm club and Letteiri is on the Wild roster?  Seems like a political call with Lou Nanne in his corner. I can see how team moral would be affected with obvious talent sitting in Des Moines and the favorite grandson getting a coveted roster spot.  Letteiri has been through many teams and ended up back home.  Walker was a three year gopher captain and play maker.
So who is better Walker or Letteiri?

Neither should be anywhere near a NHL roster

Letteiri has value as a defensive forward, capable of filling in for stretches of games, but the Wild are using him as an everyday player. He's not the only one who fits this profile.

Walker is more like a Kyle Rau type of player in that he's close to having the skill set to make it in the league, but he won't get there. Hundreds of hockey players are "close but no cigar."

It's been over 20 years, and the franchise highlight is that time 50-year-old Andrew Burnett slipped one by Patrick Roy.

Walker is a frustrating player. He's got raw speed and acceleartion that seperates him as a player from the rest. When he's playing aggressive and hard, he is a difference maker. The problem is that his shift discipline, inconsistent positioning, second effort and his carelessness with the puck can drive a coach mad. He hasn't been reliable with his NHL stints finding ways to contribute as a bottom six player and he's been benched/scratched/called out by the staff in Iowa for his issues.

He could have a long NHL career if he started to play more like Wez Walz than trying to be Mitch Marner.

Skating I give a big + to Walker

stick handling and shooting I don’t see Vinny any better. Give Walker his shot, a long run like Vinny, in the lineup to try and get him comfortable at that level and see if he can get his game back.  Vinny has had a long run this year on the roster and he isn’t breaking through to a higher level.  But I’m not Billy or Lou Nanne 😁

Looking back at the 2019 draft and if it was done again today Matt Boldy very likely would be the #2 pick.

Should be the future Captain of the team IMO.

Would envision that spot will go to Faber.

To see power play time meted out to fourth-liners is a good indicator of how sorry of a state this team is in.

Looking toward the future, they have a couple of superstars, a promising young forward, and a solid rookie defenseman. Other than that, all the parts are interchangeable. Brodin is more than serviceable at 30 but Zuc is in the twilight of his career and won't be around if the Wild ever get good.

The number one factor in the approximate 20 point swing (as it stands now) from last year to this year is atrocious goaltending this season.

The power play is mediocre and about the same as last year.

To be fair, they  currently have 6 or 7 fourth liners in the lineup.

I'm really hoping this Stramel/Perreault situation ends up being like Eriksson Ek and Boeser. When we didn't draft Boeser I was so upset and like Perrault was absolutely lighting it up for the best team in College Hockey. Eriksson Ek on the other hand put up 16 points in 41 games in the SHL the year after he was drafted. 8 years later and I'm very happy with his production and hopefully Stramel will have similar results.

Gabe Perrault was drafted with the 23rd pick so yes I wish the Wild would have drafted him but 22 teams passed on him. Hind sight is always 20/20.

Not that the Wild should be messing around and winning, but cripes the refs handed Nashville a point in this game. Terrible hooking call on Ek late.

Hynes pulled Fleury in OT and it worked. Don’t remember the last time I’ve seen that.

They now get both points because they pulled the goalie. Nashville doesn't get a point.

Pulling your goalie in OT is a REALLY "interesting" move with 17 games left in the season. 😲

Doesn’t that only apply to the Wild if it backfired? I think Nashville still gets their point.

I think that is the case. There was a bunch of confusion on the twitter and I think Nashville keeps their 1 point.

Other way around. If you pull your goaltender and lose during ot, you forfeit the point.

Yes. There were some confusing tweets about this that had some incorrect wording about this rare situation.

I don't know that I have ever seen an NHL team do it. It's fairly common in the KHL though.

Reminds me of old college games when they played total goal series and teams would pull their goalie because they needed a goal even if they were winning the game.

I read that it was Gaudreau and Foligno?  Those two should allow him to play a pretty simple game to start.

So….i still have a number 22 jersey.  This new kid going to be around awhile (as I was told Fiala would be? 😂)  Would it still be a jinx if I just got a new nameplate? 😬

Sid would have started ok with "HOOS" and would have been quickly distracted thinking he was saying "Hoosier" and would have diverted to Bobby Knight talk.

Vegas not making the Playoffs would be so great. Started the season with one of the best starts in NHL season (11-0-1). On social media their fan base was talking about a repeat, along with having the best NHL of all time. The regular season is a marathon not a sprint. The Playoffs are more of a sprint.

That’s wishful thinking…I’ll be shocked if Vegas doesn’t find a way to make playoffs, way too much talent on that roster to not make the playoffs.

Everything that could go wrong that period did. Kings even got a lucky goal, as if they needed any help.

Hartmann with a terrible pass that led to the first goal and Boldy with a really dumb hold that was called for a penalty setting up the second goal.

Sloppy game for Minnesota...3-goal hole at the first intermission.

This team can't catch a break now with Ek and Brodin out for crucial games.

I am so glad Bill Guerin locked everybody up, including the coach, for a few more years.  What a dominant team!  Really excited for next season!

Interested to see how long Guerin locks up MAF for... 2 more years?  That'll be great.

He complained about the country club atmosphere that WAS here...  It seems to me that he created his own country club with even worse players.  But hey, at least we have a great locker room.
