I do want the new reverse retro. It will be unnamed/unnumbered. ?
Tonight they got a taste of what it will take to compete. Only goal was Oettinger making a boneheaded mistake.
The fans showed upmon droves - too bad the team didn't.
Saw an article stating what each NHL team should be looking to improve upon for the remainder of the season and for the Wild it mentioned they are 24th for scoring 5x5. Not sure what kind of moves they could even make (if any) to go after that.
There's a guy in LA right now who is a top 20 5x5 scorer in the NHL
Hey Perbix scored that’s cool
Addison with a very nice goal to go with 2 A. Lightning somehow carrying the play in the second but losing the period 2-0. Helps that Gustavsson has been very solid.
I thought Kirill the Thrill was kind of a forced and silly nickname when he first got here. Turns out it’s pretty damn accurate. Wild are abusing all 3 pipes tonight.
Finally able to watch a Wild game... and here they are arguing in favor of making "Puck out of play" a reviewable/challengeable play.
Why don't we just stop the game every 2:00 to change players like mites and review everything that just happened? Reviews just kill game flow and result in changes probably less than 50% of the time (I don't have the stats, I am sure someone can look it up and prove me wrong).

I like the puck out of play penalty but reviewing it is ridiculous. All that has to happen is if the ref isn’t sure…DON’T CALL IT!
Puck over the glass should be an automatic review. It would be quicker and more accurate than the 4 officials coming together and pretending they saw what happened.
Given that TB has had some extremely talented teams while the Wild have had some very lean years, I was very surprised to see that TB has never won a game at the X?

They’ve won two in Saint Paul. One in 2007, the other in 2011. They’ve only played each other like 30 times so it sounds a little bit more impressive than it is, but still surprising.
It’s VERY SURPRISING when you factor in Tampa Bay being arguably the most consistent winning (regular season & playoff) NHL franchise during the past 9-10 years.Given that TB has had some extremely talented teams while the Wild have had some very lean years, I was very surprised to see that TB has never won a game at the X?

Wild looks pretty good last night...never took their foot off the gas.
They should wise up and make those unis the standard home threads.
I like Lou Nanne, but he compared Addison to Adam Fox...
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
That was one of the worst periods of hockey they’ve played this season. Lucky to be tied.

I'm very interested to see how Guerin handles this situation.

he could trade him for Fiala and you wouldn't like it.

That's just a silly comment. Fiala never played for the Penguins, so Guerin wouldn't even know he exists.

Fiala makes $7.875
I think that this is the smart way to go with Boldy. Now that he's signed long term, maybe try to let him play with NHL players and see if it helps his game?
49 mil, guy can't one-time a moving biscuit.
March 3rd is the NHL trade deadline... Dumba to the Devils?
Keep your stick on the ice...
March 3rd is the NHL trade deadline... Dumba to the Devils?
I’ve read that the only two teams who’ve inquired about him are EDM & OTT. If it does end up being one of those two, it’ll be interesting to see who or what MN gets in return given Faber’s impending arrival.
Brady Skjei scores to put the Canes up 2-1 midway through 2
Now Fleury gives up a super soft shortie to go down 3-1.
If Fluery is struggling tonight we could put in his understudy Chumlee.
Scratching Dumba doesn’t seem to have made them better.
Looks like Pacioretty re-injured his achilles. Yuck.

They didn't even show up for the first period. Without Fleury making several big stops it could have been 3 rip after one. Not a fun game from a fan perspective. The team looked gassed.
They are a terrible team in a terrible city ? I grew up at Met center watching the N stars much easier to get to and had a great parking lot unlike the X terrible parking
Aloha!
Wild play their best game on this trip and will get nothing out of it. Likely out of a playoff spot by the end of the night. Was fun while playing garbage squads lasted, though.
Dumba returns and they put him right back into the #1 role. Just bizarre.

Are you really that surprised?
This is the same team that scratched an aging, past his prime D-man down the stretch and in the playoffs. Then signed him to, not just a one, but a 2-year extension and is scratching him regularly. I am not arguing whether he deserves to be on the ice or not... You took a guy you didn't want on the ice late in the season, and then signed him for 2 MORE YEARS!!!
Last year they had, what, 4 or 5 guys? who had career years. So lets let one of our best scorers walk for nothing and count on everyone repeating their career bests.
Foligno is back to his career average with 4 goals in 37 games. (Compared to 23 in 74 last year)
Greenway has 2G and 4A in 29 games. Good thing we've got 2 more years of that at $3,000,000 per year.
Hartman blew up and had 34 goals last year, he is back on pace for career averages, with 5G and 9A in 25 games. Actually that pace is even better than his career average. He is the player he always was, other than the blip last year.
Dumba has regressed every year since 2017-18 (his contract year) and looks like a bubble defenseman at best.
Ek and Boldy look to be continuing an upward projection at least. Kaprizov is fantastic. Zuccarello still get, but on the wrong side of the age curve and will decline soon.
I have only seen 6 games. So I am mainly looking at the team through highlights and stats. But it seems like Gustafsson is playing way above replacement level (for a backup) and given them about 3 or 4 more wins than a typical back-up goalie would've. Take off 6 points and they are fighting with St. Louis for 6th in the Central. That's probably about where this team is at.
Sure would've been nice to not sign Goligoski and Greenway, jettisoned Dumba. Honestly, those 3 guys could be replaced right now with guys making at or near league minimum in my mind. Goligoski ($2M), Greenway ($3M), and Dumba ($6M) are $11M in total. Fiala signed at $7.8M and throw $3.2M at some replacement level guys for those 3 positions.
Instead it seems like we will just squeak in to the playoffs and get pounded in the first round (like usual), or we will just miss the playoffs end up in the middle of the first round of the draft (like usual) and just be stuck in the mushy middle.
Other than Kaprizov and Boldy. There isn't much at the NHL to get excited about this team. Wallstedt is coming but we don't seem to have any up and coming Forwards or D waiting in Iowa... Can Rossi turn it around? Is Ohgren any good?
So tonight’s game only on ESPN+ or HULU
Aloha!
Fighting in the NHL is stupid and barbaric. You won't be able to convince me otherwise.
3 fights, 3 shots 9 minutes in. Losing 1-0. The crowd goes wild.
And that Seeler wasn't one of the fighters is shocking.

One can hope.
I'm not a die-hard Wild fan, but I do enjoy having the game on the TV in the background. Thought to myself last night that it's been a while since the Wild played. All I've been seeing is bouncyball for the past 3-4 days. Looked up the schedule out of curiosity and discovered they have a NINE day break? WTF? Even with the All Star game factored in, that's a ridiculous amount of time between games.
I think they give teams a “bye week” now, and the Wild’s happened to line up with the all star break.
There are a lot of Wild jerseys/apparel at the mullet tonight. Go Wild!!
And a dude in an f’in sue jersey. Omg can I go anywhere without seeing one?!
