Tonight would be a nice time for Kaprizov or Boldy to put in a dominant performance. Every once in a while a team needs their stars to take control of a game - this a like one of them.

I'm willing to cut a Boldy a little slack because he's dragging Steel around the rink with him. Kaprizov needs to be a $9M player for the rest of the season.

I see a player like Steele playing in the line-up, and I can't believe the Wild comparison to teams like Rangers, Boston, and Colorado. Those teams are stacked with offensive talent.

I don't follow the rules of the salary cap, but how does New York add Patrick Kane to an already-loaded lineup? Then you have a guy like Rantanen over in Colorado who can take over games for them—and he's not even the marquee star. When you look at these rosters, it's no surprise at all that teams like the Wild have to focus on defense.

Does Dallas do a “Let’s Play Hockey”? Maybe the Wild will get lucky and the Stars will bring in Leon Lett.

I don't watch a ton of NHL hockey, and after catching a period here and there of the playoffs I'm reminded why. My dumb opinion, but the NHL just isn't that interesting a brand of hockey.

High level NCAA or good state tourney hockey is so much more enjoyable for me to watch than the pros.

Doh’kay

He didn't say it was better hockey.  Just more enjoyable for him.  If given the choice I'd watch Gopher hockey, but still love the Wild.

I’d rather watch Gopher hockey too but to say that the NHL playoffs isn’t that interesting is ridiculous. The NHL playoffs is the most compelling sporting event in the world.

More compelling than World Cup? ?

yup. You can do a lot with an extra 12 mill that’s being spent on Parise and Suter (goes to 14 next year). Buys you at least another guy like Rantanen (hell, McDavid is only 12.5) mixed with a middle tier scorer. This team would be right there with the upper tier if we weren’t stuck in this spot. Now the problem will more be do you lose the window on some of these guys with paying Boldy an extra 6 million next year? Would envision its why Dumba will be exiting next year to make the difference until we clear the Suter and Parise deals and can reinvest in the next couple contributors in 24-25

I would like to see Boldy between Johansson and Nyquist. Play Sundquist with Gaudreau and Foligno.

And giving him a game DQ is a really bad look for the refs. Wreaks of “how dare you question the shitty job we do”

He never moved his foot or leg, Dallas guy jumped to avoid a check and hit his knee.

It is pretty tough to stay out with some of the calls right now. Unless they start playing No-check I don’t know how you win a playoff game if the refs are going to call the game this way.

So we get the Suter/Parise salary cap space back next year? I don’t see our low end players measuring up to other teams. Seems like we are lucky to get what we are out of this team without it.  And Kaprisov needs to strap in and get it going.

Yep, Foligno's shoulder hits Faksa right in the middle of the chest, he just doesn't get all of him and slips off. Partially because Faksa is obviously trying to not get hit. Foligno is actually pulling his leg in as the hit is made. I get that it's an awful looking hit, but that doesn't make it a penalty

What really burns me bout the Foglina penalty is a bit earlier Steele gets two handed on a breakaway and no call. The situation never should have happened, either score dammit or make a call.
My expectations are too high. ?

You got 2 more years of Guerin's wonderful cap management.

But don't worry, once the Suter/Parise salaries come off the books, We'll have a 36 year old Spurgeon making $7.5M and a 32 year old Brodin making $6M

It’s fletchers mess that he’s handling and I think he’s doing a decent job so far.

now get us a center somewhere.

Yes, Guerin's cap management. The Wilds cap problems are 100% on Bill Guerin. He's currently paying $6.2M in cap space for Ryan Suter to be better than any defensemen he has on his own team.

Faligno could’ve easily blew up the guy and he instead holds back with the half hit and gets screwed anyway. What was he supposed to do totally avoid any contact all together? Yeah I agree with what was said, the refs got it in for him and making a point don’t dare question officials.
