Going into today there are only three .300 hitters in the National League (Marcell Ozuna .308, Luis Arraez .305 and Trea Turner .305). Carl Yastrzemski was the lowest batting champion at .301 in 1968. Could this be the first season with a sub .300 average winning the title? Probably not. There are five players in the .290s that could get hot down the stretch.
