That miss was on both of them. Dobbs needs to be more accurate, and Addison needs to be aware of where he is on the field.

Is Cousins coming back inevitable? He is out of contract, right?

Cousins will be a free agent but I expect Kwesi to resign him. I think it's clear Cousins wants to stay here and the team wants him so they will get a contract done.

FA after this year, and after seeing Dobbs tonight, Kirk Thuggins price went up a little.

Yep and I bet Kirk just bought another couple chains.  Cyber Monday sales, of course.

Although Kirk seems more like the leasing type.

I know it's the Bears, but I will again echo @Karlsson on the MN D. They have been getting better every week.

Our poor defense. They keep answering the bell. And for what?

Yours? The Bears are on pace for a +6 in TO margin in the past two games for two losses if the Vikings get one good drive

And here we are. That plus 6 is now a plus 5 but still losses. That’s inexcusable. You can’t win the turnover battle like that and lose multiple games.

You were saying?

Why do the teams I watch play one way the whole game, and if they have a lead late... switch to a completely different style than what got them there?  And then scratch their heads as to why they lost?

I am so sick of watch the Gophers and Vikings go to a "Prevent D" with a tiny lead and watch the other team come right down the field for the winning score.  Clearly it isn't preventing much of anything other than your ability to comeback and win.

They both go into a scared offense of "we better not score any points, run the clock, and pin them deep".  Then the inevitable punt is less than desired.  And the prevent D doesn't prevent a bunch of little plays and usually one big play.  And then all the time we bled off previously hurts us more because there is no time left to answer.  It's like we bleed our own clock out and suck the life out of the game.

I HATE IT and want it to stop!!!

Minnesota teams don't tank, nor do we rebuild. We win some and lose some and cozy up next to a nice, warm mid-round pick

Sadly I called it, I called it! KOC play calling SUCKS when having opportunity to Dagger opponent.

Yes, that last set of downs is a team playing scared. The same thing happened last week. The offense had a chance to salt it away from good field position and choked it away. Then Flores did his part by abandoning what was working all game long.

Hey, this team blows and everybody knows it, but the coaching is equally as bad.

That was maybe the worst MNF game I've ever seen on so many levels and another footnote  in MN Viking national  TV lore.

I don’t get the play call on 3rd and 8ish on the last possession. A 3-4 yard gain gets you a 55-56 yard makeable FG for Joseph and they probably give you those yards if you run off the WRs and drag someone underneath. Instead you of course throw it to a small WR in the flat with little blocking and he loses 2 yards which turns it into a 61 yard FG and you def have to punt. Then of course your excellent punter blows it.

This loss squarely on KOC & Flores terrible D calls at end of game (2 in a row now). Had a golden opportunity to steal 2 games, in both cases coaches got timid & we lost both. And tomorrow PA will be making excuses for their ineptitude…barf!

That is cause our fans are too near sighted to see how losing in the short run can be better in the long run.  Then they lament why other teams always end up with the top players and we are always right in the middle.

So glad I didn't waste time watching this game.  I have no idea about anything that happened but the score alone tells me taking a nap and exercising was the better choice.

Hopefully now (based on the stats) people will no longer pretend Josh Dobbs has a future as a starting QB in this league.

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted Smile

Why do teams insist on doing this?  Over and over, none the less?

This scheme got us here with them being able to do next to nothing all game.  I have a great idea, less completely abandon that and do something else entirely.

Dobbs was probably factoring in the curve of the earth when throwing the lateral. Unfortunately, the refs are hung up on basing things off of lines even though the earth is round. Silly refs being flat earthers. ? ?

They are deathly afraid of a turnover, and deathly afraid of missing a kick and giving the opponent "good field position".  So instead they shank a punt that ends up as about 20 yard difference in field position and score zero points.  We can't take a risk we MIGHT lose.

Yeah, but you also might WIN the D@MN game!!!

Play to WIN!!! I am so sick of switching to safe-mode offense/prevent defense and LOSING ANYWAY!!!  Watched it with the Gophers, now a few times with the Vikings.  STOP IT!!!

Go to your car, drive to the nearest bowling alley and head inside.
Look for a couple of bowling balls and drop them on your feet from about five feet. Now pick them up then drop them on your head.

The Viking game was worse.

Because 99% of teams do it even though they haven’t needed to all night. Last week the Bears gave up 17 points in 3 minutes for the same reason. Teams move away from what works and play the analytics. The Vikings blitzed 54% of the night and it worked. But didn’t blitz once on the final drive. You’re playing a QB who holds the ball longer than anyone in the league. So long, that his receivers get open but then aren’t because he misses the window. He fumbles twice because pressure forces him to make risky runs driving for a first down.

But everyone does it. It’s crazy. But analytics says to do it so they do.

I know what it takes to win a championship, and I know my team has not done so. Hence, I'm familiar with the subject. 😉

The Bears are the only NFL team in the Super Bowl era to win a road game despite scoring no TDs, having 75+ penalty yards and losing multiple fumbles. Road teams were a combined 0-46 in the Super Bowl era when doing all that in a game before today (reg & post).

The Benny Hill version of Yakety Sax has been my ring tone for 7-8 years even tho it’s off most of the time. My friends won’t let me change it cause they love that it’s obnoxious and inappropriate adjacent

(and that is a different setup anyways although the results are similar)  One bad year is all it takes for half this town to jump off the bandwagon good and quick.  They would rather eek into the playoffs and lose every year then have a couple bad years, get some high end talent and rebuild for the future.

I was on record when Cousins went down to tank because this team has money issues and a lot of older players they need to get rid of at the end of the season.  Time to build for the next 5 years not a chip and a chair for this season.  I still enjoyed watching the couple of wins, but now that magic is pretty much gone it is time to plan for the future...and not just 2024.  Every win costs us draft position and that is more important than a WC round loss this year.  YMMV.

No one is reading all that.

Might be the end of the Dobbs run.
