So we get to view tonight’s game on #9 tonight
Aloha!
I have Comcast. The one f’ing game I get to watch is on fox the same day Trump is shot with some airsoft pellet or something.
There is no chance I get to see the Twins play. This is worse than Belinda Jenson with a thunderstorm in Aitkin or Gopher hockey on BTN with Michigan St volleyball in 4th set.
Apparently it’s on 9+
Your post made me curious. Here’s the players that homered in 40 or more ballparks.

It's the whole "Infinite Earths/Multiverse" thing. It does get confusing at times. 😊https://twitter.com/TwinsPlayerDev/status/1812296663412638001
Margot dives for a ball he has no shot at getting, then Lee launches the relay into the stands. Pretty ugly ending after coming back to tie it in the top of the ninth.
Margot drove in the two runs that tied the game in the top of the 9th with a double. I would like to see Duran backing up 3rd on the triple. May not have mattered but he was not in a good spot.

The thing about Duran is he throws his 100-102mph and it’s good heat but he gets hurt with his locations. He gets away with a lot of pitches over the middle of the plate because of his velocity but throw it there enough times he’s gonna get hit. It’s not the unhitable velocity in baseball anymore like it used to be.

that was a really ugly way to go into the break
Twins draft Kansas State SS Kaelen Culpepper with their first round pick (#21 overall) tonight. They have 3 more picks tonight.
Culpepper is a very good hitter and moved from 3B to SS this season at KState. Great contact hitter that uses the whole field well. Hit .329/.419/.574 slash line with 11 HRs, 15 doubles and 6 triples this season. He also stole 17 bases. He also tore it up the previous summer on the US collegiate national team with a .471/.526/.853 slash line.
The Twins also have pick #33 (Sonny Gray compensation pick, IIRC), #60 (their 2nd rounder), and #69 (competitive balance pick).
TwinsDaily's writeup on Culpepper is here: https://twinsdaily.com/news-rumors/minnesota-twins-draft-picks/twins-select-kaelen-culpepper-at-21-in-the-2024-mlb-draft-r16598/
Pick #33 for the Twins is another college infielder with a high level bat. This time it is Louisiana-Lafayette SS Kyle DeBarge. DeBarge was the Sun Belt Conference PotY this season after putting together a .356/.418/.699 slash line with 21 HRs 19 doubles and 3 triples. Stole 10 bases and posted a 24/30 walk/strikeout ratio. Seems like a safer bet to stick at SS long term than Culpepper but they both could potentially stay at SS if needed.
DeBarge's bat-to-ball skills were near the top in the nation, making contact with 90.5% of pitches he offered at in the strikezone this season, and as his power numbers show, when he made contact he frequently did it with authority.
Really like this pick. Kid can rake and plays outstanding defense at short.
With the Twins depth at infield, particularly young infield, it kinda feels like they're gearing up to make a move for another young high-end SP that can help immediately. Trading a guy like Julien, for example, is a lot more palatable when you have really really good depth behind him. (I just threw his name out, I have no idea if they'd even consider moving him but of the Lee/Lewis/Julien/Miranda group of extremely talented hitting infielders he's the one that seems most replaceable right now).
Congratulations!!!! Joe on becoming only the 60th person ever to be a first ballot MLB Hall of Famer!!!!

Dick braemer is the easy one, I’m gonna say Michael cuddyer is the other voice.
Another game with late inning heroics that are wasted. May never get out of the top of the 12th here.
The 11th and 12th innings are all you need to know about the twins chances the rest of the season. Bullpen completely blows up. Pitches missing by feet not inches and everything else getting barreled up like t ball. That’s not gonna cut it. All well rested so throw that excuse out.
Glad to have this game on mlb network. Now I don’t have to wax my car.

Pitching (other than Lopez) not pretty out of the break.
Lavell was on KFAN with Nordo this morning talking about JMauer HOF weekend & then noted the Twins (this season) are 2-19 against the top teams they’ve played. Talk about the definition of a PRETENDER team! The 11th and 12th innings are all you need to know about the twins chances the rest of the season. Bullpen completely blows up. I really enjoyed watching Joe Mauers speech for the HOF. Now here’s a totally separate question…who does those plaques? The likenesses are AWFUL! I’m not just talking Joe, I’m talking ALL of them. If you didn’t know the name you’d never in a million years match up the face. Joes looks nothing like him, the eyes are wrong, the nose and ears are the wrong shape. It’s like the artist is just guessing.
Note: Due to inflation dirty deeds will no longer be done dirt cheap.
He's leaving out the AL West, but otherwise accurate. The Twins lost quite a few of these early in the season. The Twins started off badly. Are those losses due to the slow start? Or was the slow start due to ineptitude vs these teams?
Twins are doing better now with injuries. Looking forward to someday having a healthy Royce Lewis. It's a shame they won't pay for pitching. Sonny Gray would look nice in this rotation.

Brock Stewart should be back soon which helps a little but when your bullpen gives up 11 runs in 2 games late in the game one guy isn’t enough. Theilbar has been a big disappointment that they counted on in the past. If the twins can put up 9 runs a game they’ll be fine.🙄
Sigh. Ober serves up a meatball to Harper in the first. Down 2-0.
He’s been brilliant since. We’ll see if the BP can hold up.
Royce in this interview clears shows he wants to play and is not milking his injuries. It is killing him not to play.
Jose Miranda and Brock Stewart talking about their injuries.
The Phillies can't beat good teams. 😉
Is Corea injured?
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.

same problem he had last year but the other foot and not as severe I heard.
The bigger problem is the unwillingness of the Pohlads to spend some money at the trade deadline. They reduced their payroll by $30 million dollars & not wanting to spend any money to improvy e their pitching staff at the trade deadline. There are players out there that they could go after, but they don't want to spend a nickel!! Doesn't show that they are willing to make any commitment to the current team!!

and they got payed by Bally's for this season and everyone with Comcast is stuck with out seeing this seasons broadcasts, Both the Pohlads and Comcast are billionaires and can not get this resolved
Aloha!

they have till 5:00pm July 30th. They might do something. My gut feeling is they’re counting on getting everyone healthy and rolling with that but that’s just me.
Duran comes in and can’t throw strikes, likely losing another very winnable game tonight.
3 in the ninth off Duran was the only scoring. He nibbles around the zone, doesn’t get anything over to get a strike call so grooves one over too much plate for a bases clearing double. His pitching didn’t look like it made anyone uncomfortable in the box. Seeing everything fine and nobody off balanced against Duran. Now Tim laudner gives his sales pitch to everyone about how everything is just fine and just need to score runs.
